Summary
When a clock is off by any number of hours, minutes, or seconds, it needs to be wound up again. Ayin always did it whenever he saw a grandfather clock in the Nest, particularly in the university he and Benjamin both attended. No one else seemed to care if they were out of sync but him. The ticking just sounded wrong. Irritating. Looking at his best friend now, Ayin sees another clock neglected for far too long, left to wallow in the space between seconds, its ticking heartbeat erratic as if drawing its final breaths.
