“What makes you so special, Special Agent?” she probed, placing her manicured hands flat on her menu.
“I’m afraid I can’t tell you, Laura.” he said rather matter-of-factly as he got her a slice of pie and he smiled at the young girl. "That was uh, a joke I hope you know."
She smiled and giggled a little as her pie arrived. "Thanks, and yeah I guessed that. You seem nice, so, what are you doing talking to me? I'm trouble according to everyone my age."
This was when Cooper posed a question, one that would make him realize this was just a dream. "I'm just seventeen sir." he froze and glanced at her before finally waking up with a sigh. "If only I would really have helped her in life.. if I could go back—"
"Goodnight, dear Agent Cooper. And good luck. . . My f—" Just a few seconds longer, and she would've told him who killed her.
Damm.
