Chapter Text
Ahmya makes quick work of checking the wards and reporting back to him. He fixes what needs to be fixed and shuts everything off.
Sana’s put different categories of things on different scrolls around the house. There’s one in the bathroom for bathroom stuff, obviously, one in Sasuke’s bedroom for his things, and so on.
It doesn’t take long for everything to be sorted and sealed. He packs all the scrolls and mentally goes through everything.
Once he’s satisfied, he puts the bag next to the couch with Eri and all that’s left to do is wait for Haya and Annaisha to come back.
“Sasuke-sama, she’s worsening.” Sana says, which is wholly unhelpful at the moment but Sasuke can’t find it in him to blame Sana who’s clearly just worried.
Haya speeds in through the window and lands on the table across from Sasuke.
“They’re currently at lunch, Sasuke-sama.”
Well that works out perfectly. How convenient.
Haya and Ahmya return to their summoning worlds and Sasuke briefly contemplates sending Sana back as well.
As if reading his mind, Sana says, “I’d like to stay, if it’s alright with you, Sasuke-sama.”
“Hn.”
It doesn’t make much of a difference either way.
Sana slithers up to him and wraps himself around Sasuke’s leg.
Sasuke puts the backpack on and lifts Eri off the couch before taking a breath and teleporting himself into a stall in the men’s washroom.
He puts a genjutsu over himself so he looks like this world’s version of Hatake Kakashi to anyone who doesn’t know him as Sasuke. They won’t even notice Eri in his hands until he needs them to, if all goes well.
Sasuke tilts his head in the direction of the vents and Sana nods, making his way up to them before slipping inside, hopefully unnoticed.
Eri’s wheezing breaths fill the room and Sasuke is reminded, for a moment, of Itachi. He shakes that thought off as soon as it comes. There’s no room for distractions such as that.
The hallways are empty, since every student eats in the cafeteria or in the courtyard unless they have a special exception.
He knocks on the door to the staff room twice before taking a step back and running through what he’s going to say in his head.
Vlad King opens the door and almost immediately, the shouting starts. He’s pulled into the staff room and sent over to Aizawa.
“What the fu-” Is what Aizawa says upon first greeting him, and honestly, Sasuke agrees.
“Hello.” Sasuke says.
“You’ve been missing for 6 weeks.”
“I’m aware.” Sasuke replies.
“Why did you come back?”
Sasuke glances around the room with the subtlety of Naruto and Aizawa takes the hint.
“We’ll go to the classroom, then.”
Sasuke nods and follows him out. The 1-A classroom isn’t far, so they’re only walking for about 20 seconds before they get there.
“Well, explain yourself.” Aizawa says, sitting down at the chair behind the teacher’s desk.
“I’m not Hatake Kakashi.” Sasuke lets the genjutsu fall away and Aizawa is immediately in a fighting stance. “Hatake Kakashi never existed in this universe to begin with, my name is Uchiha Sasuke.”
Aizawa’s eyes fall to his arms where Eri is.
“And? Who’s this?”
“Eri. From the Shie Hassaikai.”
“And how did she come under your care?” Aizawa asks, though Sasuke has a feeling he already knows the answer. It was all over the news, after all.
“I found her.”
“You… ‘found’ her?” Aizawa repeats.
“That’s what I said, yes.”
“What the fuck.” Aizawa pinches the bridge of his nose. “From the beginning, please.”
“She’s also currently very ill.”
“What?” Aizawa is on his feet in a second and standing in front of Eri, checking her temperature “How old is she?”
“6.”
“Shit.”
It seems they agree on that front as well.
“Let’s get her to Recovery Girl before lunch is up.” Aizawa holds his hands out to carry her and Sasuke stares at him. “Fine.” Aizawa’s arms fall away and he leads them to Recovery Girl’s office.
“Recovery Girl?” He calls.
“Aizawa, don’t tell me you’ve- oh.” She stops talking as soon as she sees Eri and Sasuke. “And who might you two be?”
“This is Eri.” Aizawa introduces. “And this is who we thought was Hatake Kakashi. We’re not finished talking about that, by the way.”
Sasuke shrugs.
“Is she your sister, dearie?” Recovery Girl asks.
It’s so out of nowhere that Sasuke almost laughs. “No.”
Eri is put on a bed and Recovery Girl looks her over. “Ah, it’s pneumonia. She’ll need a hospital for that, but I imagine you knew that.”
Sasuke nods but doesn’t say anything else.
“What’s her Quirk?” Recovery Girl asks, getting out some papers.
Sasuke doesn’t know if he wants the answer he gives to be recorded anywhere, but it’s a bit late for that, he supposes.
He doesn’t really know the details of her Quirk himself. It hadn’t been on his top list of priorities since he couldn’t find Kurogiri.
“Rewind. It’s what it sounds like. Yes, it works on people.” He says shortly.
“Ah, that’s quite something.” Recovery Girl rolls up Eri’s sleeves and Sasuke can tell that the only thing keeping her from gasping out loud is her professionalism.
“These scars are….” She struggles for the right word. “Extensive.”
Aizawa glances at Sasuke for permission to look before he checks her arms. His jaw clenches and he sits back down almost immediately.
“Do you know where she got them?” Recovery Girl asks.
“I’ve handled it.” Sasuke replies simply.
Neither Recovery Girl or Aizawa ask more questions about that, for which Sasuke is reluctantly grateful.
“I don’t suppose you know if she has her shots?”
Sasuke isn’t entirely sure what that means, it’s probably a medical term, so he just shakes his head.
“And you?” She asks. “We don’t want you to get sick either.”
Sasuke has absolutely no idea what she’s talking about.
“Your vaccines.” She prompts.
That doesn’t make any more sense than what she’s said previously, and eventually, she understands that he has no clue what she’s talking about.
Aizawa looks more alarmed than before, if possible. “You know, like to protect you from illnesses?”
Oh. “I have, then.”
He doesn’t get sick like that anymore. Kabuto had mentioned something about building antibodies and destroying mortal weakness, but Sasuke wasn’t really listening.
Aizawa doesn’t look like he believes him, but they leave it at that.
“She’s sleeping pretty soundly.” Recovery Girl observes. “How long has she been asleep?”
Sasuke removes the genjutsu on her and she’s awake almost immediately.
“Nevermind, then.” Recovery Girl says before she goes to give Eri some medicine and calm her down.
The medicine goes down, but Eri doesn’t calm down. In fact, she gets more freaked out and Sasuke feels a bit like an idiot. Of course being in a medical room would freak her out.
He motions for Sana to exit the vents and go comfort her.
Aizawa doesn’t even bat an eye at the snake but Recovery Girl is about to shoo it away before she sees it talking to Eri.
“I’m not even going to ask.” She says.
Aizawa has someone sub-in for his class and they sit in the waiting room.
“Now’s a good time for an explanation.” He says.
Sasuke pauses. It would be a good time for an explanation, since he doesn’t know how long Eri will have to be here before she’s good to go.
“I’m from an alternate dimension.” Is what he starts with. Aizawa obviously doesn’t believe him but he doesn’t interrupt. “My only proof is that I have several of the things you call Quirks and my memories.”
He continues from there, explaining, briefly, his time with the League and his deal with All for One, which was how he found Eri. He mentions the Suzuki family and how they died, finding Eri in the Shie Hassaikai headquarters and removing her from there. He considers leaving out the part where the HSPC thought they kidnapped him and Eri, but he keeps it in.
It takes him the better part of half an hour to explain fully without leaving anything out. Sasuke really sucks at storytelling, so he can’t imagine his recount of the events is very interesting to listen to, but Aizawa listens anyway.
Aizawa is silent for a while and Sasuke relishes in the quiet because he knows it’ll be brief.
“How did you even get here?”
“I have a dimensional travel ability, but it won’t bring me back again.” Sasuke says vaguely.
“Why did you come here?”
“I didn’t want to.”
Cut. Sasuke bringing the heroes to the warehouse instead of going to them makes more sense. Easier to write, also.
