Work Text:
1. Friday
The first time happened in the middle of one of Tony's all nighters, or rather, a night in the midst of a few days of all nighters.
Tony had slipped into a hyper fixated buzz after making progress on a new nanotech casing for his suit. At this point he was going on 72 hours without sleep and it was starting to catch up on him, something he wasn't keen on admitting. (Peter and his puppy eyes had worked entirely too well when he'd stubbornly said that if Tony didn’t fix his sleep schedule, he would mess up his own to match the older man's.)
Yeah, it was a good thing that Tony was getting more sleep and actually taking care of himself since he wanted to be a good example for Peter, but it also made the after effect of his binges and all nighters come up that bit harder and faster. It was probably only thanks to that, that Tony didn't realise that it was a lab day and that Peter had entered the lab.
Tony rapped his knuckles in two short hits against the table and held his hand out for the spanner that was quickly placed in it, never once noticing the lack of whirring and beeping that the action was usually accompanied when Dumm-E passed tools to him.
It was only when he looked up from his work a few minutes later that he saw Peter sitting at his own bench, and got up and made his way over. "Hey, Pete." Tony greeted, swinging an arm over Peter's shoulder and pulling him into a side hug. "How was the physics test?"
Peter leant into his mentor and started telling him about his day. "It was good! Ned and I went over our notes last night and we're both pretty sure of an A." He rambled on, Tony listening with a soft smile on his face.
Neither one of them was aware of Friday creating a file and saving the footage from just after Peter came into the lab.

2. Rhodey
Of all the things that Rhodey had expected from the spider kid, Tony's kid intern, it wasn't for him to come bounding into the lab babbling so fast and excitedly about Lego that Rhodey didn't even understand what he was saying.
Tony apparently did understand, and looked up with a knowing grin, obviously waiting until Peter's rambling slowed down before greeting the teen.
The reason for Peter’s excited rambling became clear a few moments later when he held up a hand, a little Spider-Man Lego figure clasped in his fingers. What happened next had Rhodey's jaw almost on the floor from shock.
Instead of just showing the figurine off to Tony, Peter practically bounced to him and thrust the little red and blue toy at the man. And Tony took it from him . Tony, the man who refused to be handed things for reasons that Rhodey hated thinking about, had willingly reached out and taken the Lego figure with a smile.
And even as Rhodey attempted to pick his jaw up from the ground, Tony spoke as if the entire thing hadn't happened (which, Rhodey thought, it was entirely probable that Tony hadn't realised.)
"That's awesome, kid! I was wondering when they were going to come out with something official."
"You knew!?"

3. Happy
Of all the things that Happy had done for Tony over the years, this one made him question his sanity the most. And that was saying a lot because he'd done and seen some things since working and befriending Tony that he never wanted to bring up again. Ever.
But babysitting and playing spectator to Tony and Peter arguing over whether or not Peter needed to learn to drive was definitely not how Happy wanted to spend his Sunday morning. Don't get him wrong, he truly did care for the two of them, Tony was practically his brother at this point and Peter had managed to worm himself into Happy’s heart as well, but as he watched from the side as Peter and Tony shot jabs back and forth over the roof of the car.
"Mr Stark, I'm never going to need to drive! I live in New York, I can just take the subway, a cab, or swing on my webs."
Tony shot Peter a deadpan look that had Happy suppressing a grin. "Kid, buddy, star child, light of my life, you're not always going to be able to take a cab or the subway and there will be times that you don't have enough webs. Do I need to remind you of Flash's car during the fiasco that was your homecoming?"
Peter frantically shook his head, still protesting when Happy saw a pair of car keys fly through the air towards Peter. Now, most anyone else after having Tony Stark throw car keys at them would have relented, but Peter wasn't most people.
Happy saw the teen's eyebrows draw together in determination, seconds before the keys went flying back through the air where Tony (much to Happy’s shock) caught them only to toss them back again.
They were quickly thrown back, the pair's argument rising again. Despite the surprise (and Happy's slight heart-warming realisation) of Tony so easily grabbing the keys Peter threw at him, Happy still grumbled over the fact that he had to be there.
When the keys were thrown over the roof yet again, Happy let his head drop to his hands. It was going to be a long day.

4. May
When Tony had first come into their life, May hadn't quite realised just how much a part of it the man would become. Peter had instantly taken to him, Tony doing the same, but May took a bit longer to warm up to him.
After many phone calls, texts, inclusions of May in all protocols involving Peter, she and Tony had somehow formed a friendship. As the three grew closer, weekly dinners had become a thing, and now Tony devoted a Thursday of every week to spending time with the Parkers at their apartment.
Nine times out of ten, May had attempted to cook for those nights, and nine times out of ten, they ended up ordering in when her attempts had failed. None of them would ever forget the fettuccine back from June 2017. Tony was still sure that it was somehow alive.
But, before those attempts and the ensuing take out could be ordered, the three of them would congregate in the living room and talk about their day as Peter did homework , Tony answered emails, and May sipped on a glass of either wine or juice.
May looked up as Petter huffed, dropping his head against his textbook with a thud. "This is useless. I'm gonna fail and then have to drop out and have to work at McDonald's before not making enough money and getting kicked out of a measly apartment and then having to work on street corners to be able to buy food and a place at a homeless shelter or a seedy hotel." Peter sighed, turning over to flop on his back and dramatically slinging an arm to cover his eyes.
May rolled her eyes but let a laugh slip, Tony's own amused chuckle echoing it. Her kid was so dramatic sometimes. "Just how long did it take to come up with that future for yourself, huh?"
"0.5 seconds of looking at homework and realising homework is designed to crush all hopes and dreams." Peter mumbled from under his arm.
"I'm sure it's not that bad, Pete. What are you working on anyway?" Tony asked, and May saw him smirk when Peter held out the book to him and grunted out something that sounded like "Mental abuse to humans."
Rather than say that he didn't like being handed things, May was surprised yet also not surprised at all when Tony simply reached out and grabbed the textbook straight from Peter's hand.
May hid a smile behind her glass. It seemed that Peter was the exception to that rule.

5. Pepper
Being in a relationship with Tony Stark meant that Pepper was used to unusual things happening. Stepping out of the penthouse elevator one Friday and immediately kicking her high heels off and letting her hair out of its ponytail, Pepper decided that the scene she walked into, although unusual, wasn't quite as bad as some that she'd walked in on.
A soft smile spread across her face as she walked to stand in the wide archway for the partially open plan kitchen, lingering to lean against the archway and watch Peter and Tony.
"What exactly are you doing, boys?" Pepper asked, relishing in the surprise her presence caused. Those lessons from Natasha were really paying off.
Peter looked up from the pot he was stirring and called a quick hello, Tony following and sending Pepper a small wave before nudging Peter to get his attention again. "Keep stirring that, bud." He reminded gently before stepping away and greeting Pepper.
"Hi, Pep." Tony pressed a kiss to her cheek and Pepper couldn't help but melt slightly into him, taking comfort in his embrace after the long day she'd had.
"The kid wanted to learn to cook. May bet that he would be just as bad as her and we wanted to prove her wrong so I broke out some of Mom's old pasta recipes for him to try. So far it's all good and done completely by Peter apart from some help from me."
Pepper's eyebrow rose slightly but wasn't as surprised as she thought she would be. Tony would do anything for Peter.
"Tony!" Peter called. "I think it's done, come and taste it."
Tony did as asked, and was at Peter's side in seconds, not even blinking when the teen handed him a pasta sauce covered spoon. He took the spoon and popped into his mouth, eyes immediately widening.
"Kid, you just blew May's bet clean out of the water. This is amazing!"
Apparently, being handed something was included in the many things that Tony would do for Peter. Who would have thought.
"I don't know about you, but I wouldn't mind tasting that too, sweetheart. It smells lovely."

+1. Tony
When Tony had first introduced Peter to the team, most of them had thought he was Tony's long lost son or hidden child. Well, all of them apart from Natasha. She always knew everything.
As time moved on, they came to realise that although Peter wasn't biologically Tony's child, he was still his kid in every other way that mattered.
Which was why it had shocked and amused the team to no end when during a movie night, Tony had (as usual) protested when Clint tried to hand him the bowl of popcorn.
"You should know by now that only Rhodey, Pepper, and Happy hand me things, Birdbrain."
Hearing those words, every head in the room whipped around to face Tony, and he looked back at them in bewilderment.
"What? Why are you all looking at me like I kicked a puppy and then denied that I did?"
Natash stared at him. "Peter hands you things all the time. It's not just Pepper, Rhodey, and Happy."
Tony's expression became even more bewildered if that was possible. "What? No I don't. I'm pretty sure I would have noticed."
Rhodey snorted and Tony's eyes zeroed in on his best friend. "Tony, Nat's right. The kid hands you stuff all the time. Did you forget about the time that he showed you that Lego Spider-Man toy?"
"Or what about when you both spent half an hour arguing and throwing the car keys back and forth."
"There's also the times where he passed you his homework and the pasta sauce." May and Pepper now jumped in, smirking at each other when Tony shot them a fake betrayed look.
Just when Tony thought the betrayal was over, his own damn A.I spoke too. "If I may, Boss, there is also the time where Peter handed you a tool and you mistook it for one of my bot siblings giving it to you.
Obviously seeing the shock and surprise in Tony's expression, Peter spoke up hesitantly from where he was sitting next to Tony on the couch.
"I've actually handed you a few things. But I can't stop if you're not comfortable with it."
Tony was just about to protest, saying that he was always comfortable with Peter when the words died on his tongue as he realised just how true they were.
He was comfortable with Peter. The kid could hand him things, tinker with his suits, hug him, and Tony was completely and truly okay with it.
Tony wasn't sure when Peter had slipped behind all of his walls and barriers, but he wasn't complaining. Maybe his old scars from Howard wouldn't last forever. Either way, Tony refused to allow his star of a father to get between him and Peter. The kid was as good as his, and there was no way that he was giving up or shying away from their newfound trust.
"Not a chance, bud. I'm fine with it. Now hand me that popcorn and your hand because I just know that this damn movie is gonna terrify me and Rhodey never let's me hold his hand anymore."
