Chapter Text
Shen Qingqiu had been staring at herself for half an hour in the mirror. The maid by her bed hadn't flinched, probably not finding her mistress's behavior strange.
After all, Shen Qingqiu was the most vain woman in the realm, whose pride was comparable to that of the gods. No surprise she spent more time admiring herself in the mirror than doing her goddamn job.
All Shen Qingqiu could think of was, "I'm so fucked. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! "
She managed to maintain an enviable poker face, knowing that, if she betrayed herself, the best cultivators in the kingdom would immediately come to exorcise her.
She wasn't even sure it would work! Was she a ghost? Was she reincarnated? Was it a very messed up vivid dream?
Could anyone answer her? Hey, isn't there any System like in the novels? At least some help if she deserved it.
But however much she prayed, there was no electronic jingle, no digital screen appearances in front of her. She was alone in a world where anyone could have killed her at any moment.
So excuse her if she was in a moment of shock!
“Calm down, and be cool. Maybe the situation isn't so bad ... "
Ah, the lies we tell ourselves are the sweetest. Of course the situation was bad: she fell asleep in front of the computer after suffering from excruciating pain in her stomach, and when she woke up she was in another world, in another person's body and, what was worse, the body belonged to the Evil Queen Shen Qingqiu!
What had she done wrong in her life to deserve this? Among the many novels she had read, why did she have to transmigrate / dream / reincarnate in Snow White's Harem ?!
Stupid novel, stupid author!
It was a Z series novel that retold the story of Snow White in the world of cultivation, where a cruel evil queen harassed her stepdaughter in every way, treating her as a servant and not as the legitimate heir to the throne. Her abuse worsened after the Magic Mirror revealed that the most beautiful and powerful cultivator was not her, but her stepdaughter.
At that point, anyone in their right mind would have surrendered to the inevitable. If a damned Magic Mirror told you that there was no chance of overcoming the protagonist, just accept it!
But no, the queen also tried to kill the heroine, sending her most trusted servant against her, the hunter! Too bad that the hunter was one of the first members of the harem and that he could not kill his beloved princess, so he let her escape, delivering the heart of an animal to the villainess.
Heart that the bitch eats for dinner!
What was wrong with her ?!
Luo Binghe, the Snow White of history, found refuge in the castle of a powerful demon, and from there she learned her status of half-blood and a prophecy that saw her as a unifier of the human world and the demonic world. From there she began her rise to demon queen and mighty warrior, and the start of her plan of revenge.
All in all, it was an interesting reading, different from the usual reverse harem canons, where for once the heroine had balls and was a warrior who didn't need to be saved by anyone.
The problem was that the story was full of plot holes!
Who was Binghe's mother? She was important to the plot, but she never shows up!
Does the evil queen never suspect the hunter? Why does she keep holding him close?
Why does no one ask questions when the princess, and heir to the throne, disappears?
And so many more questions any sensible reader would have asked!
All the key points of the plot had been sacrificed in favor of poor papapa scenes between Luo Binghe and the male leads! There was also a foursome scene and she still had to figure out how physically possible it was!
Snow White's harem was a trashy novel, the positives of which were forgotten because there was so much wrong with it!
Binghe from white lotus became a tyrant with no morals, worse than her stepmother. And she punished her enemies without mercy.
Shen Qingqiu shivered as she remembered the evil queen's demise in the novel: she was irremediably disfigured, her cultivation sealed and forced to dance at one of her stepdaughter's wedding in burning iron shoes until she died for the wounds.
All this while the court threw everything at her and mocked her.
"This is the end that a bitch like you deserves."
Shen Qingqiu was embarrassed to remember that while she was reading the story, she had thought so too. What the villainess was receiving was karmic punishment, she should have seen it coming. If you play bitchy with everyone, you have to expect to get everything back, with interest!
Unfortunately now she was the villainess, and she was in danger of dying terribly!
She was about to feel bad. She needed air, to escape and never come back.
Too bad she couldn't do it. She was the damned queen of Huan Hua Palace, a cultivator who unfortunately did not go unnoticed. And she was also the regent ...
"Your Highness, you have to prepare. The funeral is shortly after," the maid said gently.
Shen Qingqiu looked away from the mirror, "Funeral?"
"The king's funeral."
Oh. So the heaviest abuses on the protagonist had not yet occurred. With the king alive, Shen Qingqiu simply ignored her stepdaughter, neglecting the child.
But after ... after it was hell.
"Maybe I still have time," she thought with a hint of hope.
She put the mirror aside and got out of bed. She will keep away from strange magical objects and she will try not to provoke the protagonist, ending up on her blacklist. She had to change the plot just enough for the future Empress to take power but not use her as an example of what happened to her enemies. Just thinking about it made her feel bad!
The maid had prepared for her a red and gold dress, worthy of a queen, but not suitable for a funeral.
"Isn't there something simpler?"
The maiden looked at her confused, and she explained, "I have to go to a funeral. It's not suitable. It's too flashy."
Besides, she wasn't going to feel comfortable with all that stuff on. If she was going to learn how to dress like in a historical TV series, she at least wanted to start doing it gradually. A simple robe as a start had to be fine.
The maiden continued to look at her as if a second head had grown, making her feel uncomfortable. She finally sighed, "I guess you're right. It is important to maintain some decorum in public."
"Yeah ..."
It was strange to have someone dressing her and combing her hair, and she was tempted many times to make her go away, annoyed. But the real Queen Shen Qingqiu wouldn't do that, so she had to hold back. When the time came for the makeup, she said, "Please, no exaggeration. Remember what I'm preparing for."
Translated it did not make me look like a clown that here I already have half a court who hates me, and if they see me too happy they will add it to the list of bad deeds done against the protagonist.
The maiden carried out the order without saying a word, and for that she was grateful. She couldn't bear to have to give any other explanations, not when her mind was scrambling to find a solution to her situation.
"I have to pretend to be Shen Qingqiu, but less of a bitch. I have to have this ice queen air, like don't try to fuck with me, or you'll regret it. Urgh ... and I have to rule. Again, what did she do in the novel? Was she always in front of the mirror? Urgh ... damn author, you and your characters without characterization! "
She was so focused on these issues that she completely forgot about the other event that happened during the funeral ...
Her father was lying inside the coffin, his expression peaceful, as if he were sleeping. He was surrounded by flowers, white lilies, a symbol of purity. Luo Binghe clenched her hands on the edges, trying unsuccessfully to control the tears.
It wasn't fair. Father was an immortal cultivator, the most powerful ever. He couldn't have died of a simple disease. She refused to believe it.
There had been rumors in the palace. She had heard subordinates muttering, thinking she didn't hear them.
They said the queen consort was responsible for the king's death. But it was just gossip, wasn't it? Only malice said behind someone who could not defend herself! The queen was innocent. Father would never marry an evil person, especially so as not to offend his wife's memory.
"Are you sure?" a little voice whispered in her mind.
“Men are foolish creatures. It doesn't take much to make them fall. And the queen hates you. "
"That's not true, she doesn't hate me!" she blurted out.
She wiped her eyes with her sleeve. The honorable cultivators who had served father will soon be here. She could not be found in an undignified state.
She rose from the ground, preparing to meet the Elders and cultivators.
Someone slammed her to the ground, pressing her head and putting a blade around her neck.
Luo Binghe had been practicing for a while now. She wasn't weak. But that attack had caught her off guard.
“You are so useless. It will be a blessing to get a little girl like you out of the way. "
She didn't recognize the voice. She had no idea who the killer was or who sent him. What was clear to her, however, was her helplessness.
Binghe gritted her teeth. Her father would be so disappointed in her! She imagined that he will not be happy when they meet again in the other world. She closed her eyes, waiting for the fatal blow. But it didn't come. Instead, the pressure on her head took off, and she was able to get up.
Opposite her was Queen Consort Shen, the most angry expression she had ever seen. Her white robes were stained with blood, but she didn't care.
“How dare you put your hands on the princess? Cutting off her hand was too light a punishment for you. "
How much security! How much power!
The queen ... the queen was a goddess! And she cared about her! At that moment, Luo Binghe felt something warm on her chest ...
Meanwhile, Shen Qingqiu was panicking.
Ahhhhh. Fuck. She had ruined an husband plot. It was supposed to be the hunter Liu Qingge who saved the princess! Not the evil stepmother!
Oh well, she hadn't changed the plot that much. She hadn't done who knows what! She is right, isn't she?
