Work Text:
Nicki Minaj was leaning onto her table. The only thing on her mind was Jotaro Kujo’s sharp features and distinguished face. She sighs as all she can think is, “My parents won’t let this starship fly... Why?”
She stood up from her seat and took a deep breath. Time to meet her parents. She adjusted her hat and looked all over her pink room, littered with all the memories she had. Stuffed animals, albums and awards, and a single signed photo of her friend and companion Karol G. Her eyes glistened with tears at the thought of her forbidden love, and she stepped out of her room.
Her father, Lil Wayne, stepped out of his room and sat at the dinner table. “My little Nicki!”, he said triumphantly. “We have found you a suitable husband after all this time!”, he wrung his hands out and smiled at his wife, Queen Latifah. He then put his hands out to embrace his daughter and Nicki looked at him with somber and downcast eyes. “Father,” she started, “I don’t want to marry whoever you are offering. I only want Jotaro Kujo. I only have eyes for him, and he only has eyes for me. Why can’t understand that?” Her father became stern, fixing his posture and he brushed his dread locks out of his eyes. “Darling, Nicki... Please understand this... He is not in our league. He is way below us. His power is low and doesn’t give us anything.” Nicki then pushed her father away with a single swipe of her hand, tears leaving her eyes.
She then goes to the balcony, dread filling her every sense. “I must escape this place” replaces the thought of her lover Jotaro in her mind.
---
Jotaro wakes up in a cold sweat. His mind pulses with the thought of Nicki Minaj. He draws his stand, Star Platinum, out and opens a can of soda. He shotguns it and finishes quickly as he gets dressed for work. He puts his dress shirt on, then his trousers, finishing with his shoes.
He looks in the mirror for a split second, realizing that his years are catching up to him. He pulls his hand up to his face and lets out a sad and solemn, “ora ora”. The wrinkles marring his face are a depressing sight to him. He was so tall and handsome, but the wrinkles were taking their toll on him.
He then took his signature hat he got from high school and stepped out the door.
He walked along the streets and looked to his left and right making sure there was no one suspicious. He walked past the alleyway where the fortune teller Avdol put his tent. He waved hello to him to no avail, for Avdol ignored him and continued his steady frauds. Jotaro kept walking forward until he reached the dingy office he worked at.
He walked into the office and scanned his card to enter the facility. The first sight he sees is his dear lover Nicki Minaj sitting in one of the guest chairs. She had scheduled an appointment to meet with just him and no one else. He looked at her, his eyes filled with joy to be able to see her, but he had to keep his professional work composure. Nicki then stands and looks him right in the eyes. He could see the joy and the sadness in her eyes. “Jotaro...” Nicki started.
“Say no more, Nicki,” said Jotaro. He then led her to his cubicle where he sat down in front of her with a resounding thud of his chair. “What’s wrong?,” he stated bluntly. Nicki looked right at him. Tears welled in her eyes, and she looked back at him with the sincerest look on her face. “I want to take a Roman Holiday with you.”
“What?” Jotaro stated without a filter to his words. He did not understand what his lover was saying to him. He began to rummage through his mind for a definition of a “Roman Holiday.” Does this mean a simple break? Does she want to vacation with him? He thought strenuously and looked at his palms. What did she want from him...
She started her explanation. It went a bit like this: “Jotaro... Look, I know this is sudden. But I know in my heart that you want to get away from this and end our mutual suffering. I want to run away with you, Jotaro,” she further explained. “I want to leave this place with you and go somewhere we can be free to be us. I want to love you without the watchful eye of the entire world. Let us run from this.”
Jotaro looked her in the face, dumbfounded. He was not expecting that. He expected a small vacation. Not this. He needed tome to recollect himself. He put his palm to his face and took a deep breath. He was just told to leave his job, his life, and his being just to be with his lover. He did not know how to weigh the options. His lover, or his job. Decisions, decisions...
He then looked his distraught lover in the face. “Well...” Jotaro started, “I did want to quit my job after all, and my rent is overdue...” he muttered. “Oh, Jotaro!” Nicki cried as she leapt over the table and hugged Jotaro. “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” she yelled as she cried and sobbed into his muscular form. He pats her on the head as he begins to tear up as well. He had just been told what he wanted to be told. His life was finally complete.
-----
Jotaro trudged to his dingy apartment again. He saw Avdol again in his booth scamming a man with towering grey hair. ‘He looks interesting’, Jotaro thought as he passed by, ‘but there is no use dwelling on that now.’ Jotaro walked into his home and shut the door with a click. He sighs as he realizes he must leave all of this behind. All the memories he had made in that small studio. He drew his Star Platinum out and did some test punches to alleviate his nerves. He began to sigh as he began to pack his things into his trusty backpack.
-----
Nicki walked into her house and set her keys down. She sighs and looks through her home seeing that the coast is clear. She sees that her father and mother aren’t home and heads to her room to pack her necessities. She then opens the door and notices that it is unlocked. Her eyes widen in horror as she sees a small figure in her room standing by her bed. “Lil Uzi Vert?!” yells Nicki. “Yah!” he says.
“Your dad sent me here to introduce myself. But since you already know me, ta-da!” he said as Nicki stared him down with her mouth agape. “But uhh, I’m already in a relationship at the moment. I think your dad doesn’t understand that. See, me and JT, we go way back. And I heard that you don’t want to marry me. Honestly, I get it. You like your guys tall, haha,” he rubs the back of his neck, shaking his braids out of his face. “So, I can help you get with Jotaro, if you help me with something. See, since you’re leaving your parents, no? What if you get me a ring from your mom, and I can make your escape smooth. How does that sound? I think Kanye and Drake can fix you something up.”
“Uzi! I knew it was good to trust you. It was good to call you my son that one time!” Nicki said as she hugged the man's small form. He hugs her back and smiles softly. “I really want you to have this, Nicki. I believe you and Jotaro can live happily; you know?” He pats her back as his eyes begin to look throughout the room. “We need to start formulating a plan to get you out of here,” he says as he starts to break from the hug. “You need to pack your essentials, no?” starts Uzi. “Yeah,” says Nicki. “yeah.”
-----
Jotaro looked back at his apartment. It was fairly full, save for a couple things in his pack. He sighs as he leaves his apartment making sure he has left nothing behind. He shuts the door with one last click as he locks it and heads his way, dropping his keys off at the lobby of his building.
He started making his way toward the street when he saw the same man from earlier with the towering silver hair. The man walked up to him and said “By shame! Have you seen that man in the alleyway? He scammed me of 12 dollars! 12!” The man walked away and kept on grumbling his dissatisfaction. Jotaro dismissed this and kept walking. He decided to pick some food up at the local coffee shop. A simple latte with coconut milk due to his allergies, and a cookie.
As he walked and ate, he thought about the life he might lead with Nicki. Will they be successful in this escape attempt? He would not know until he tried, right?
Jotaro continued walking and finally reached the Minaj/Wayne estate. He drew out his Star Platinum and threw a single pebble at Nicki’s window, notifying her of his arrival. Jotaro felt a smile creep up onto his lips as he saw Nicki at the window but grimaced once he saw the small figure of a man next to her. He saw Lil Uzi smile as he saw him and whisper something to Nicki. He felt jealous of him. Why? He did not know. But he felt jealousy boiling under his skin.
-----
Nicki saw her lover outside her window. She smiled at him and turned to Lil Uzi. He smiled back and flashed his grill. He looked at Nicki with warm expression on his face. “Darling Nicki...” he starts, “I hope you know what you’re doing.” He slowly walks up to the window alongside her. He sees Jotaro go up a flight of a ladder and open the window. He looked at Nicki with a soft look in his eyes and then turned to Lil Uzi. He felt that something was wrong.
After this premonition, Uzi lashed out at Jotaro and punched him square in the face. Jotaro fell back on the ladder and was able to catch himself using his Star Platinum. Nicki then saw this action and decided that her only choice was to fight back. She threw a smack at Uzi, and he skillfully dodged and knocked Nicki down with a single swift kick.
“Uzi!” Nicki said. “I trusted you! Why?!” Uzi then looks at her and smiles. “Darling Nicki...,” said Uzi. I hope you know that JT isn’t the only woman on my mind. I think about you all the time. I thought to myself ‘hmmm, what could I do to get closer to Nicki?’ And I came up with the perfect plan. Get rid of her lover. So that’s what I’m going to do now.” He turned to the window and saw Jotaro hanging on for his dear life to the window ledge. The ladder had fallen leaving Jotaro’s legs dangling off the window ledge. He had a dark look in his eyes.
Uzi then stepped forward and set his foot (he has Yeezys on. A gift from Kanye.) on Jotaro’s hand. He started stepping each finger off one at a time. “One...,” Uzi began counting. Jotaro felt his spirit slip. If he falls now, he will die and not be with his lover. Meaning that Uzi would have succeeded. He thought about his love and his determination and why he was doing all this. He felt a flame burning behind his eyes. He felt his love for Nicki rise and manifest itself.
He raised his other hand up. He grabs onto the ledge and pulls himself up, surprising Uzi and Nicki. “Wha-what?!” says Uzi. Jotaro’s eyes are shadowed over. “People like you...” Jotaro starts, “piss me off.” He drew out his Star Platinum and began punching at Uzi, leaving him senseless and a mess of blood. Uzi steps back and holds his shattered arm. “What?!” he yells. “Next time you try something like that... It’ll be more than just your arm I’ll be breaking.” Uzi cowered away and ran out of the house shielding his wounded arm and wounded ego.
Nicki Hugged Jotaro and started to cry. “Oh, Jotaro!” Nicki said. “I was so scared! You don’t know how much I appreciate that!” She cried into his shirt, wetting it in the process. “It’s okay, Nicki. It’s okay,”
-----
Later, after Nicki recovered from her crying, she grabbed her bags and started to go down the window with a makeshift rope she had made at the last minute. Her quick thinking and her craftsmanship led her to think about this. Jotaro helped her down first, and then went Jotaro. They walked into the woods and decided to keep a watchful eye out.
She was right by Jotaro, holding his arm the entire time. She shivered at the cold, which caused Jotaro to give her his jacket. He smiled at her, and they kept walking forward until they came across a spot in the woods with no foliage and no sign of animals. “Nicki! Look!”
Nicki looked forward to the spot, illuminated by the moonlight. “Jotaro,” said Nicki. “It’s perfect.” He then picked her up and looked into her eyes. He looked at her and conveys a single thing with just his eyes.
“Do you want to spend your life here with me?”
