In outer space…

Vulkanus couldn’t help but feel like he scored a great deal with these tiny adolescent Necrofriggians and so many of them in bulk.

He had heard that their esteemed wings fetched a pretty penny but were often defended by members of their own kind. Luckily, these seemed to be outcasted by their species. Their isolation brought weakness and thus was captured. Hopefully, it won’t stop the criminal from selling their wings or them as a whole in the black market. These things were not easy to catch though, they were cunning, resourceful and they worked as a team. But with dirty tactics and his minions, they were all rounded up and locked away in cages that not even them could faze through. Now, he would have to get through their whining, sell them to a rich tycoon and we would be spending his days in luxury.

“Quit your bellyaching! Just be happy of your annihilation and your existence in a cage!” Vulkanus bellowed at the children.

“When I get outa here, I’ll freeze your ugly face!” One of them squeaked at him while some of the others were crying and chirping.

Strangely and irritatingly, what those Necrofriggians say was all too familiar to him, but he couldn’t put his finger on it. It gave him a headache as he would not be able to figure it out. He shook off the feeling and continued to gloat on his ship. But he would not see a ship and something in front of it, heading straight for him from behind. From space, it was a mystic blue Necrofriggian, a one-in-a-lifetime beauty in a complete rage and hunting. His talons were ready to draw blood to the commander of the ship and to take back what was his.

“Ben, don’t do anything risky. I know this is personal-.” A female voice from the Omnitrix's symbol warned the alien.

“Personal? Gwen, it’s personal when someone steals my stuff or tries to take the Omnitrix from me. Personal is when they threaten Earth. This is far past personal and headed into a stab at my heart.” Big Chill snarled in a chilling manner.

“We get it, but let’s try not to kill him. That’s something we don’t need to fill out in the paperwork.” A male voice advised.

“Coming from you… Fine, how about a mauling?” Big Chill requesting.

“Ben…”

“Sure, mauling can work.”

“Kevin!”

“Just make sure he’s recognizable and he keeps at least three limbs.”

“Deal.”

“Honestly, you two. Ben, don’t do anything until we’re all on the ship.”

“Sorry Gwen, but I’m not leaving them in there a minute longer.”

Big Chill soon began to faze through the other ship, that is when things begin to get really hectic. Screaming was heard as the ship stopped to a grinding halt. The plumber’s ship was finally able to reach it as Kevin and Gwen pried open the entrance, seeing a mess! The minions were retreating as Vulkanus was pinned down while completely frozen by an enraged Big Chill!

“Come on, this is a victimless crime! They’re just grubs!” The criminal pleaded for mercy.

“Grubs? Grubs!?!? THEY'RE MY GRUBS!!! YOU ATTACKED MY CHILDREN!!! HOW WOULD YOU LIKE BEING CAPTURED AND PUT IN A CAGE TO BE RIPPED APART?!?!?!” Big Chill snarled as he plucked Vulkanus from his suit, opening the cages to free his babies, and slammed the thug into one of the cages while locking him away!

“Hey, you can’t do this!” Vulkanus whined as Kevin picked up the cage, he was in.

“Trust me, you’re safer in there than facing ‘Mommy’ right now,” Kevin advised as he pointed to the growling mother of the spawn he stole.

“Ben, your babies.” Gwen reminded as his attention was pulled away to see his babies.

He counted them all as they looked confused.

“Okay, good. They are all here. They are all safe.” Big Chill sighed as they sniffed Ben with their feelers.

“You.” A tiny Necrofriggian, the last one to leave the Earth, squeaked.

“Yes, it’s me.”

“Yep, that’s your mommy.” Kevin joked to lighten the mood as Gwen lightly shoved him with annoyance.

“Mommy?” Another squeaked as they grouped around Big Chill, “Mommy!”

Ben soon returned to his human form. Though startling the children, they smelled that it was still him, and Ben was covered by his babies’ hugs while a couple fluttered in the air. Gwen and Kevin gave Ben a few more minutes before they would return to base with Vulkanus in custody and the babies checked over.

At the Plumber Base Near-Earth…

Ben refused to leave his children alone for even a second as they were being checked over for any injuries or illnesses.

Gwen and Kevin were left to get everything reported in with Vulkanus and his illegal poaching ring. Probably for the best, especially since Ben was very close to killing the criminal. Who knew the savior of the universe would be such a mama bear? Gwen felt pride in how much her cousin loved his children, as long as he doesn’t kill anyone in said love. She admittedly was surprised how attached Ben and his children were to each other. They barely remember each other and yet they would do anything to be together again. It makes her wonder what Ben will do after they are checked over.

Max notices his grandson with his great-grandchildren with a smile while Gwen and Kevin gathered to hear the news on the child.

“Are they all okay, Dr. Zeb’trki?” Ben asked the alien doctor as he looked through the charts of the adolescent Necrofriggians.

“Well, the children as in perfect health, though a few bruises here and there, but they will be okay. But I fear they won’t have proper protection or survival requirement once they are released.” Dr. Zeb’trki informed them, “The problem first originated because they were alone, correct?”

“From what we got from Vulkanus, that’s the case,” Kevin answered while the doctor wrote down his words.

“Just as I suspected… Mr. Tennyson, have you often returned to your human form when ‘Big Chill’ was pregnant at the time?” He asked his patient.

“Yeah, I didn’t even realize I had them until it was already over. Is it bad?” Ben fretted as Dr. Zeb’trki smiled at the boy’s kind heart and love for those kids.

“No, this means that your children have acquired your human DNA while you were in your human state. Luckily, it balanced pretty well with their Necrofriggian DNA. However, this would also cause some… difficulties for them.”

“What kind of difficulties?”

“Well, the reason that Necrofriggians are not so frequently hunted is because the older members would often defend the hatchings, thus protecting the next generation. However, if they sense any abnormalities, like illness or deformities, the infant or adolescent Necrofriggians would be abandoned by their kind and often left to die.”

“WHAT!?!?” Ben gasped in horror and outrage, “S-so my kids were alone because the other Necrofriggians had a problem of where they came from?!?”

“It’s not like that. But it seems that their kind has misjudged your human gene as a weakness. It’s rare for Necrofriggians to have mixed genetics, even unheard of since they self-reproduce.” The doctor informed him, to prevent Ben from giving the Necrofriggian adults a piece of his mind.

Luckily, Max was there too.

“So, what is best for them if they can’t return to space?” Max wondered.

“They can be placed in a special plumber’s orphanage-.”

“No, I’ll take them.” Ben firmly refused, even mentioning an orphanage was too much for him.

“Ben, are you sure about this? Raising children, alien children is a massive responsibility and you’re still so young.” Max told his Grandson, “You need to think about this very carefully because if you go through with it, you can’t go back.”

“They’re my kids, they have been alone and abandoned by their own kind. I wasn’t there when they got caught and now, I’m learning that they can’t even have a place to go in space… No, I won’t abandon them, I’ll make sure they’ll be happy and safe.” Ben answered his grandfather.

“If this is what you want, then you can keep them, and you won’t be alone either. I’ll make sure you’ll have the support and help you need.” Max assured him, feeling pride for Ben’s answer.

“You’ll have us too,” Gwen promised her cousin as she knew Ben would do anything for his kids, even if he never intended on having them, he loved them, nonetheless.

“Sure, why not?” Kevin nonchalantly agreed.

“Well, it’s best that we prepare them for Earth.” Dr. Zeb’trki informed them all, “I will need to inform Azmuth, Magister Tennyson, you should inform the other members of your family. It’s important that we have all of our Polar Manzardill in the igloo.”

“Azmuth, why would he-?” Ben wondered.

“In the event of offspring being produced by the programming in the Omnitrix, Azmuth must be informed to analyze. He knows of your children, but this will be the first time meeting them. He wants to be certain of no complications.”

“I’m sure he’ll think differently. Especially since-.”

“His feelings towards you and Mr. Levin will not deter him from the children. You wish to take responsibility for their creation, but it is not simply yours alone. Azmuth was the one to put that feature in his creation. Thus, all offspring from the Omnitrix must be cataloged and analyzed. You won’t be alone on this, Ben. Not in the slightest.”

Ben’s spare room on Plumber Headquarters…

As Ben waited for his parents and Azmuth to appear to meet his babies, he thought it would be a good time to get to know them.

Fourteen.

All Fourteen of his babies were here, right in front of him.

His eldest, the biggest one was covered in little scars and had small tears on the edge of his wings. Poor thing was probably the fighter of the group and took care of everyone. Luckily Ben will be here to keep an eye on him.

The second eldest boy had the greenest eyes and seemed to keep his distance from his parent, keeping an eye on his siblings. Some bonding time should fix that.

His eldest daughter was a bit of a heck-raiser and adventurous one too. She kind of reminded him of her Uncle Kevin, yes Kevin’s going to be an uncle he’s not getting out of it. Plus, she and he will get along well.

Then there was a pair of twins as they were more like Ben and Gwen when they were young, growling and messing with each other. The second eldest had to separate the pair a couple of times. Won’t that be fun for him and his parents?

Next was a sluggish thing, not as the bug kind but a sleepy type. Looks like this one would tire out quickly.

He can tell the next one was a pretty, pretty thing that liked shiny things and colors. Maybe Ben could get away with introducing her to glitter.

The one on his lap was a hungry little thing as Ben helped with one hand feed the big guy some solar plasma the plumbers provide.

There were three on his back that was playing on him as they were purring.

One of them was hiding under the bed, digging out treasures for it to keep. Hopefully, won’t start stealing other people’s things.

Another was trying to escape to explore outside the room, she had definitely inherited her parent’s adventurous and reckless side.

Then there was the youngest and tiniest of them all, resting at the crook of his arm purring. Ben will make sure he gets the extra love he’ll need.

Ben whistled for his babies as they all drew close, except for one that was keeping his distance.

“Okay everyone, we’ll be out of here soon and you get to meet the rest of our family. I’m certain you’ll really like Earth and you’ll be far safer than out there in space.” Ben informed the children.

“Mommy, why do you look different but can turn into us?” One of them asked.

“Well, that’s because of the watch. It allows me to turn into different aliens and understand other species. It also let me able to have you. I’m actually human most of the time and some of my human genes were passed on to you too.” Ben carefully explained as it was more complicated than that.

“Can we change too?” The tiniest wondered.

Ben was about to answer when one of them was no longer a Little Chill, but a mini girl version of him, naked.

“Mommy, Mommy, look! I figure it out!” The girl squealed as they all tried it and succeeded.

Soon Ben saw his family stunned by his transforming kids going from human to Necrofriggian on a whim, his mother fainted.

Yep, things will definitely be interesting.

Near-Earth at the Plumber’s Base in Dr. Zeb’trki’s Office…

Ben was holding his youngest child carefully as he was nibbling his fingers in his Necrofriggian Form.

Everyone had calmed down once Azmuth and Dr. Zeb’trki’s scanned over the children once more. Max was able to find the kids' clothing so that when they do turn human, they won’t be buck naked. Kenny was already doting on his little nephews and nieces as he could see Ben’s kind yet mischievous nature within them. His parents and Aunt and Uncle were finally able to calm down thanks to Gwen as Kevin was watching some of them to make sure they didn’t try to faze and runoff. Julie was on her phone, doing research on childcare as she knew Ben was sweet but will need some help raising them. Maybe she can get some things on Necrofriggians just in case.

“It seems that the properties that allow the Omnitrix to transform your DNA into different species have transferred into your children, allowing their DNA to alter at will.” The doctor confirmed with a smile, “This should make it easier for them to blend on Earth.”

“So, why are my kids' different ages if they were all born at the same time?” Ben wondered as he felt a pair of arms hanging onto him by the neck, but not to strangle him.

“Simple Necrofriggian biology. It depends less on when they were hatch and more on when then they are developed. Necrofriggian’s lifespans is an interesting field to study, short infancy time, then their aging process will slow down to that of a human’s, finally, the adult lifespan will completely slow down. The average Necrofriggian can live up to five hundred to a thousand years.” The Doctor explained as Azmuth coughed to get their attention.

“Now, Ben, as you know I have been… quite disappointed with your past actions. However, I can see your desire to nurture and protect your offspring. You will need information on Necrofriggian Culture, biology, their needs, and proper development and growth. You will also need to customize your home to suit their needs.” The first thinker began as Ben’s fathered crossed his arms.

“…And you’re going to give him the things he’ll need, right? You’re going to help him and those children? Because they are your responsibility, both Ben and them. Because it was your trinket that made Ben have those babies.” Carl sternly informed the alien.

“Carl, you can’t talk to Azmuth like that,” Max told his son.

“I don’t care that’s he’s the First Thinker or the Creator of Worlds, heck I wouldn’t even care if he was the ruler of the universe. He talks to my son about being responsible, then maybe he should take some responsibility in this himself.” Carl scolded.

“You are quite right, and I will help your child and those Necrofriggian but that will be all I’ll help with.” Azmuth sighed, earning a smile from Ben.

“Thank you, Azmuth.” Ben thanked.

“I am only taken accountability, Ben. Nothing more.”

Ben still smiled, nonetheless.

“Ben, have you decided on names for these little ones?” Sandra asked her son as she picked one up as a grandmother.

The young hero realized these kids will need names if they were coming home with him. He had been so caught up in keeping the kids safe that he’s forgotten that they’ll need names.

“… I’ve come up with a few ideas for names,” Ben answered as he hugged his youngest.

“Try not to name them like you name your aliens.” Kevin chuckled as Gwen jabbed him.

“I can help you out, too.” Julie offered as the doctor smiled.

“I’ll leave out the forms to fill for your little ones. Meanwhile, Azmuth, your grandfather, and I will make arrangements.” Dr. Zeb’trki’s informed him then the three left them alone.

The family gathered for ideas to name the little ones while doing some bonding.

The papers were sorted from the oldest to the youngest.

Once their names were set up and everything was settled, the Tennyson Family was going shopping, the best way to get out of the house so they can begin building the rooms and areas for the kids. Ben was excited to be reunited with his kids and most were happy to see him, one stubborn one refused to leave his siblings with a stranger. Ben will find a way to win Gibson’s heart. Hopefully, some time spent together as a family will help tear down the walls.

Chapter Text

On Earth at the Bellwood Shopping Mall…

It was not an easy thing as everyone had to take a cart and at the minimum two of the children as they did their shopping with the kids.

Ben told his kids to stay in their human form since it was best for humans not to know the existence of aliens, yet. The last thing they needed was a panic of baby aliens or people trying to rake one of his kids in their cute little moth forms. Ben did not want to kill someone to keep his kids safe, Julie, Gwen, and Kevin don’t want to hold Ben back from killing someone protecting his kids. That is a family drama that they didn’t want. So, Ben made certain the kids followed the rules so they can buy them whatever they needed for their stay on Earth. Sandra was giddy as she’s been hoping for Grandkids to spoil since Ben became thirteen, just didn’t think it would happen so soon.

Sandra and Carl would watch over Anodyne, Osmo, Yule, and Owen.

Natalie and Frank would go shopping for Tatiana, Belle, and Kirby.

Kevin, Ken, and Gwen would have Joshua, Vera, and Iris.

Julie and Ben would be with Maxwell, Gibson, and Ike.

“Ooh, that looks cool~!” Anodyne swooned as she pointed at a store with glittery toys.

“Sounds like our first store.” Sandra smiled as they split up from the group as Carl already got his card ready to get whatever the grandkids want.

“They will definitely need educational toys and brain stimulation,” Natalie advised with her husband as they splintered off as well.

“Ooh~!” Iris squeaked at the auto parts.

“Seems we got something in common. Hey, why not I get you something.” Kevin offered for his niece as he was swerving towards the store.

“Levin, you are not getting my niece an engine!” Ken warned as he and Gwen chased after him, while Julie and Ben chuckled a little.

“Looks like the kids are going to have fun,” Julie remarked with a chuckle as Ben smiled as well.

“Yeah, they’ll fit right in on Earth,” Ben added as he looked at the youngling in the cart while the older ones followed him.

Gibson was quiet as he tried to distance himself from Ben.

“Hey, Gibby, is there anywhere you want to go?” Ben offered for his second eldest.

“Don’t call me Gibby.” He muttered coldly.

“Be nice to Mum.” Maxwell scolded him then spotted a store nearby, “Can we go to that store?”

Julie and Ben looked to where he was pointing and saw the camping and outdoors store.

“You’re a camping type, huh? Well, Grampa Max will be happy to hear that.” Ben remarked as he gave the boy a one-armed hug while the other was on the handle of the cart.

“I wonder how your grandpa and Azmuth are doing back at the house?” Julie wondered as she picked up Ike and began to cuddle with him.

At the Tennyson House…

For humans who cannot see outside the camouflage, it looked like a normal renovation, but in truth, it was a special hybrid/galactic renovation for adaption and proper stimulation.

There was a massive dome with additional rooms added for the younglings. They came with temperatures suited for their needs, a flight room nursery, a practice area for frigid powers, and enough care books to help them through their development.

“Alright, add the Solar Generator Feeder next to the first room. Then we can move one to the ADA (Alien DNA Analyzer) next to the flight room. Be sure the material is something they can’t chew through.” Max ordered as he looked over the blueprints to the additions to the house.

“Yes sir.” They nodded as they got a move on.

“We have almost completed the required items for the infants of the Necrofriggians.” Azmuth informed the plumber.

“Yep, they’ll be able to make themselves right at home.” Max agreed as he was joyous for the little ones staying on Earth.

At the Tennyson Home…

The ride home went smoothly as everyone made their way back with the new additions and their presents.

The cars land up as the doors open for the children of Ben Tennyson. Maxwell Kylmyys Tennyson, Gibson Carl Tennyson, Iris Gwendolen Tennyson, Anodyne Natalie Tennyson, Osmo Kevin Tennyson, Yule Winter Tennyson, Verdona Sandra Tennyson, Owen Kenneth Tennyson, Kirby Hiro Tennyson, Tatiana Emerald Tennyson, Belle Rose Tennyson, Joshua Wood Tennyson, Vera Lucy Tennyson, and Ike Ben Tennyson were being led or held to their new home as most were giddy with excitement. Only Gibson and Maxwell did not show. Max was trying to keep himself composed for his siblings and to set a good example to behave in public. Gibson, on the other hand, did not want to be on earth or near his father.

Things were going to be different but nothing that Ben can’t handle as he loved the children he brought into the world. Ben loved these little ones, even though he had only known them for a short time. Maybe it was a parental bond so strong that they can never be truly apart. He’ll need help to learn but he won’t be on his own.

“Everybody, let’s make sure our little ones get nice and comfortable.” Carl grinned as he opened the door for his grandchildren and the rest of his family.

The offspring turned into their necrofriggian forms and fluttered about to see the new environment of their home. Fluttering about checking out the newest shiny things and stuff they have never seen before while their guardians watched over them. Ike pulled on Ben’s sleeve to follow him as Julie followed Ben to the living room for the TV.

Ben turned in on, startling the children a bit, but they came back to see the goodies on the shows.

“This is TV. This is a thing where people can watch stuff, news, sports, cooking, cartoons, all kinds of stuff.” Ben explained as Ike sat on his lap.

He then turned a channel to a kid-friendly show as the children gathered around him to watch.

“They seem to be bonding already.” Max smiled as Ben’s parents turned to him.

“I hope so. It’s not going to be easy being a teenage parent, especially to children from another species.” Carl pointed out, smiling at his son.

“But we’ll be here to help and so will everyone that Ben has helped,” Sandra assured.

“Once they’re done, I want to show you all the new additions to the house,” Max suggested.

“As long as it looks normal or it’s hidable, we can adapt, hopefully.”

At Kevin’s Garage…

Kevin never thought he would be given lessons, let alone to a half-alien kid of Ben’s which he proudly takes the title of uncle.

Iris, his little buddy was watching Kevin explain certain parts of a car and how an engine works in extraterrestrial locomotive. By the time this little girl gets her license, Kevin would have made her the car of her dreams. She will be ready to take care of it, fix it up and modify it. But until then, he will teach her the basics and make little trinkets she likes.

“Now see how the engine is running. Can you tell me what a car needs in order to work?” Kevin quizzed the little girl.

“Fuel, Fire, a-and air.” She answered.

“Very good, and if your engine starts on fire, what do you do?”

“Umm… A fire extinguisher or baking soda.”

“Right, which is why should always keep some on hand.”

They were really getting far in their lessons on mechanics, now he just needed to convince Ben on getting this little girl and engine to practice taking apart and putting back together again and they can really get to the knit and gritty.

“Uncle Kevin, why do you wear a mask?”

Ah, there was that question. Iris knew what Kevin looked like and she was one of the few who never feared him or shy away from seeing his face. She was a good little girl. She didn’t understand certain things, she was just a kid, and she didn’t need to.

“Well, I don’t like the way I look right now.”

“But you shouldn’t be ashamed, I think you’re cool.”

“Well, you’re just a kid.”

She still smiled at him, a smile like her father’s. She really was Ben’s kid, a goober who worked on helping others than themselves. He hopes she never falls into the same career as Ben, it was more a burden than a blessing.

Just then, Kevin’s badge beeped and flash, and their lesson came to an end.

Chapter Text

Julie’s House…

The fifteen kids were brought to their honorary woman father’s house for they needed to be watched while Ben was on a mission.

Julie truly grew to love her little moth alien-human hybrid adoptive children as her own. Ben may give birth to them alone, but she felt like they were a part of her, too. When Ben agreed to take in the little ones that were meant to be independent of birth but couldn’t because of their DNA, how she felt… she was never prouder of Ben than on that day. He may get a bighead, may be careless, and often the dorkiest man she ever met. But Ben was also the sweetest, kindest, most heroic, resourceful, and most forgiving person she ever met.

Ben would give his life for his loved ones in a heartbeat, which often troubled her with the thought of her boyfriend dying because, by that characteristic, it was in his nature to protect them. Of course, Ben would take custody of them. He didn’t care if he was a teenager or the biggest hero, none of that mattered to him more than those kids.

So, Julie was definitely pitching in to help because…

Just because Ben has new responsibilities…

He can't forget the old ones.

Even Julie wanted him to give them up, it’s something you can’t quit from, not with everyone looking to him as the peacekeeper of it all. It was harrowing and yet something Ben had to bear. She only hoped that the kids understood that this was Ben’s obligation.

“Okay, so I need to deal with these weird creatures that have been popping out from the ground. Hoping, it’s not a big deal, for once not be a big deal, we can start looking into the schools' Grampa Max showed us for the kids.” Ben sighed as he was still a little ragged from the last mission they were on, not even given a full hour to rest a bit.

“I still think we should also try some of these schools too. These places can write their ticket anywhere and could provide a good future.” Julie suggested as she had some pamphlets in her hands, “We should keep our options open; a good education will help them find good careers. Plus, some more insight into our world a bit since they’ve been beyond it for so long.”

“Ben, we have to go!” Gwen shouted.

“Duty calls, love you, Julie.” Ben kissed her as he bid his children goodbye as well, “Be good for your Daddy, kids. Don’t freeze anything or scare grandma again. Yule, Belle, no fighting, and Iris, don’t mess with the cars again. I left you all some star cupcakes and some galactic pies for your grandparents as an apology. Love you all.”

Before he could go, a tiny hand stopped him as it was tugging his pants. He looked down to see little Osmo with pleading eyes at his beloved mother.

“I wanna come with. I wanna see you do hero time.” He pleaded as Gibson hated some of his siblings’ hero worship.

“Ossy, you have to stay here. Mommy has to save the world from evil.” Max informed his little brother as Ben smiled at them.

“You’re still too young for stuff like this. Maybe when you’re older and we get back when can go out for ice cream, okay?” Ben promised as Ossy pouted.

“Okay…”

Ike then approached them and gave Ben a drawing of him and Gwen and Kevin in hero poses.

“Sweetie, this is beautiful~. I’ll keep it with me and hang it up my wall.” Ben promised as he ruffed his son’s hair.

Julie smiled as she remembered that Ben would take down his posters to put up his son’s drawing. Such a sweet thing to do. Ben then left as Julie went to Ossy.

“Come on, Ossy, we can play instead of doing that boring hero work.”

Ossy then smiled as Julie’s attention turned to an argument with the siblings, giving Ozzy the opportunity to sneak out…

Three hours later…

Julie searched everywhere for Ossy as she tried calling Ben!

But wherever he has had no signal. She feared something bad happened to him as the car rolled up to the driveway. She looked outside the window to see Ben holding Ossy, shocked and exhausted at what he went through on his mission, and the child clinging on to his mother as if his life depended on it.

“Ben, are you both okay? What happened?” Julie gasped at the sight of them.

“Saved the world from getting cook, realized cryptid exists, bigfoot is a guy in a suit, and a mole man almost blew us up with TNT…” Ben muttered as Gwen and Kevin were not too far behind him.

“What?!?” Julie gasped, “Ben, I am so sorry I let him out of my sight.”

“It’s okay… We forgot about their ghost powers… He’s grounded and I’m going to pass out…” Ben muttered as he fainted on the couch while his team was rethinking that they were almost blown up.

“Oh, Ben. I’ll go get the kids and you some ice cream in the freezer.” She offered, “Do you guys want some too?”

“Please.”

“Ben, we can talk about the kid’s school in the morning after you have time to recover.”

“Mmm…”

Julie took that as a yes and she was going to give Max a piece of her mind, without the kids in the room because there will be cursing.

Chapter Text

At Ben’s House…

Julie thinks she’s getting used to being a mom or woman Dad, whatever her title as a parent.

When she first agreed to help Ben with the fourteen babies which returned to him, she would have thought it would be overwhelming, which it was. But now enough time passes for her to get a rhythm in this. It was also great to have a strong family connection, not just by blood but with the connections Ben has made over the years, all the people Ben has helped and cared for, they there to help, help Ben, help his new family. It was a touching thing, even though Julie does feel a little bit jealous. Her thoughts were soon interrupted by her boyfriend who brought a small plate of homemade Tiramisu.

“Thanks, Ben.” Julie grinned as Ben was wearing an apron.

“Hey, it’s the least I could do. You look like you could use something sweet.” Ben smiled as he was washing his hands.

“Oh, just been a rough day with the tournament and all.” She smiled back.

“I heard. That bratty guy’s been kind of a jerk to everyone. I heard rumors he even cheats and pays off the referees, so they are doing checks and surveillance to keep it fair.” Ben chuckled a bit at the rumor he heard, “So, I’m guessing he’s lashing out because he got caught.”

“Yeah.” Julie giggled, this was one of the reasons he loved Ben, he always cheered her up.

It was nice that Ben was a bit of a Gossip. When you’re out saving the world and taking down bad guys while raising fourteen kids, you should at least get the time to enjoy a story every now and then.

“Just don’t let that guy get to you, Jules. He’s just super jealous that you’re better than him, that’s why he feels the need to cheat.” Ben advised, “If you want, I could swing by his place as an alien and make him look crazy.”

“Ben No-.”

“It would be easy, I turn into Spider monkey or Diamondhead, say I’m invading Earth then turn back. It would be hilarious.” Ben suggested as Julie was cracking up with his plan.

Then Ben felt a tug on his pants and saw Ike and Vera.

“What’s the matter, Baby Blues?” Ben asked his kids; they presented a ripped rabbit.

“We hurt Adder.” Vera admitted to her mother, “We both wanted to play with her but not share.”

“Hey, don’t worry about it. I’ll fix Adder right up.”

Ben then left with the kids as Kevin and Gwen came in.

“Wow, the two of you, you guys act like a stereotypical 50’s couple, Ben as the stay-at-home mom and you as the workaholic dad.” Kevin chuckled at the sight.

Then Gwen gave a quick jab.

“You guys are doing pretty great with the kids.” Gwen complimented as Kevin went to grab some of the Tiramisu Ben made.

Surprising a long line of bad cooks in Ben’s gene pool and he turns out to be a master baker.

“Thanks, it’s a lot of work but worth it for them. Besides, I think it’s good for Ben too, keeps him level-headed.”

“How does Tennyson know how to make this? This is awesome.” Kevin chewed as his girlfriend rolled her eyes.

“I think it’s good for Ben too. I admit, I thought he was in over his head but he’s doing pretty good.”

Julie then watched Ben fix up the rabbit and earn hugs from his youngest. It was such a delightful thing to watch. Ben held a strong connection to all Fourteen, even with Gibson who seemed to not like his mother. He would do anything to protect them and Julie will be there to make sure they were protected as well.

Near Walton…

Ben wasn’t a hundred percent on board with bringing the kids along on a mission, but it was on Earth and since there were no available babysitters, what choice did he have?

He was looking back to make sure the kids were okay. His car could transform into a minivan thanks to Kevin and could fit a lot more kids in. It made things a lot easier. Ben looked through the mirror to see the kids either playing, singing, talking, or doing other things. He was thankful that this was one of the days that his sons and daughters behaved.

“Okay, everyone. I get you excited that we’re going on a super awesome mission with your mommy-.”

Truth be told, this mission was low-level, very low-level, with the addition of Kevin and Gwen being there to keep an eye on the kids. It was the only reason he would even allow his sweet, sweet babies to come along. They all agreed that two would go out to investigate, while one babysits at a hotel.

“But we need to go through some rules, okay.”

They all whined and freed an ‘oh, man’. They really were his kids, as if there were any doubt.

“I know, I know, but we have to go through them and if things get out of hand, my first priority is to keep you safe. So, rule 1: No revealing your Little Chill forms unless you have to. Unless you are forced to fight or flee, you have to stay human. Rule 2: you guys stay close with either me, your Aunt Gwen, or your Uncle Kevin. Rule 3: Don’t talk to strangers, human, alien, or otherwise. If they try to talk to you, get me or get Aunt Gwen, or Uncle Kevin.” Ben informed them, ‘If you guys behave, we can do a little tourist shopping afterward.”

The kids cheered, all except for Gibson, who was still pouting. Ben frowned a bit; he knew that Gibson didn’t want to go on a trip with him. Ben could tell that the boy didn’t like him very much, but he’ll work his way to his heart, he’ll get there.

“Are you excited, Gibby? I heard it was a peaceful little town-.”

“Don’t call me Gibby.” He grunted and then earned an elbow from his older brother.

“Be nice to Mum.”

“He only birthed us and that’s it.”

Max growled at his younger brother’s stubbornness.

“Max, it’s okay. Once we head into town, we’ll stretch our legs and get a little bit of sunshine-what?”

Ben then noticed something off. He soon stopped with Kevin’s car as well.

“What going on?” Anodyne wondered.

“Nothing to worry about. Stay in the car, I’ll check it out.” Ben grinned and then left the car.

At Walton…

Well, this was something Ben didn’t expect.

Apparently, it’s spring break for an alien race who loved popcorn and poops gold. Both awesome and weird. But Ben didn’t think it was a good idea that his kids be around such rambunctious college kids. Luckily the mayor offered a room for the little ones to stay in. Gwen stayed behind with Orb to discuss his missing friend.

“Order up anything they want; I’ll keep an eye on the college students and see if I can get a beat on Decka.” Ben offered then went off with Kevin to go on their mission.

It turned out college kids can be a bit much. Ben and Kevin were already trying to stop their path of destruction. With some Spider monkey thread, they were able to capture them.

“Hey, what gives?” One of them cried from the net.

“What do you guys think you are doing? This is not your property or your planet. You guys are guests here, you need to treat this place with respect.” Ben scolded them while wagging his finger.

“Dude, chill. We were just having fun!” Another one whined.

“What if your fun got someone hurt? Wouldn’t be so fun then. You guys are in college, you are young adults, and you should act like it!” Ben continued as Kevin was trying not to laugh.

“What are you? Our mother?”

Ben just realized it; he was turning into his mother. Luckily before Ben could continue the mayor came.

At the Room at the Hotel…

“What is the mayor thinking? I get that this huge payload from the gold could fix things but that is not the point. These kids are out of control, they are wrecking everything in their path, and the example they’re being shown here is that they won’t get into trouble. This town is turning them into hoodlums.” Ben was ranting as he was eating the meal provided.

“Ben, calm down, we have bigger things to worry about.” Gwen sighed, “Decka hasn’t been seen for days and there had been no trace of him.”

“This is why I’m bringing this up. What if he tore down something and is trapped in a pile of rubble or got hurt?” Ben added as Orb looked concerned.

“Ben!”

“Right, sorry.”

Gwen sighed as she knew it wasn’t Ben’s fault, he was like this. Ever since raising his kids, Ben’s maternal instincts have gotten the better of him, which was both a good thing and annoying.

“Maybe you should take a break, order room service, and calm down a bit.” Gwen suggested, “Kevin and I can look and see if we can find out any more about the situation.

“Sounds good.” Ben sighed as Iris flew onto his lap.

Gwen made her way to the door as Kevin approached Ben and whispered in his ear.

“Sure, I can do that.” Ben agreed.

“Thanks, man, I owe you one.”

Then they both left with Ben and Orb to talk.

“Listen, I’m sure your friend is okay but maybe this should be a good lesson on how you guys are behaving on other planets. You can’t treat it like it's your own personal toy.” Ben advised then grabbed a bin of caramelized popcorn, “Here, a little treat to help the nerves.”

“Thank you, Mr. Tennyson. I’m sorry we’ve been behaving badly-.”

“Just as long you learn from it, it’s more than enough of an apology.”

At the hotel in Walton…

Ben was getting worried as he was brushing Iris’ hair and so was Orb.

His team should have been back right now, he should have heard something about the missing college student. He looked at his watch as he wondered if he should call Gwen and Kevin, but what if they were in a situation that shouldn’t be distracted by? Plus, if they were in danger, they would have called him, right? But still, he can’t help but feel anxious, and he has never been wrong about that feeling. When he feels this way, it means things are going to get worse.

“Hmmm….”

“What’s wrong, Mummy?” Ike wondered to his father.

“Oh, I’m just a little worried about your aunt and uncle. I should have heard back from them now…” Ben answered as Max frowned a bit.

“Mmm…”

It had not been easy for their parent. But he has done everything in his power to be there for him, even when he’s young, so overwhelmed, he would be there for them.

“Mum, if you need to be there, maybe I could watch over everyone,” Max suggested as Gibson scoffed at his older brother.

“No, no, I shouldn’t ask-.”

“It’ll be fine. Besides, it might be good for us to pull our weight a bit. I can keep everyone from causing havoc.”

“Hey!”

“We don’t cause havoc!”

Ben chuckled and thought about it.

“Okay, okay, but you all need to stay here, listen to Max, and if you behave, then we can go out for treats,” Ben promised.

“Okay, Mummy!” They all cheered as Ben handed Max a card.

“Order whatever you want, I’ll be back. Come on, Orb.” Ben breathed then rushed out.

The aftermath of the battle with Decka…

The mayor was put into custody as the two college students were following Ben on his ship.

“Okay, I’ll make sure you guys get home safely. Gwen, thanks for agreeing to take the kids home, make sure they get their treat. I did promise.” Ben breathed.

“I’ll make sure.” Gwen agreed.

“Don’t worry, the mayor will be punished for what he’s done,” Ben assured.

“Your whole planet should be punished!” Decka fumed.

“Hey, that is not the right attitude to have. One person did a bad thing, but not all of us. That type of thinking is xenophobic and can lead to trouble. If you want to be angry at the mayor, then fine. Be angry but don’t take it out on other people, especially since you and your friends have been wrecking the town without thinking about others.” Ben scolded, “It be best to also find a planet and a town with a good background, maybe even have a buddy system…”

“Um, Ben?” Orb spoke up.

“Yes?”

“Thank you and we promise we’ll behave better on other planets.” Orb smiled.

“Good, because it might be better not to come back here. Humans aren’t evil, you know. Just very, very dumb.” Ben admitted.

“You can say that again,” Decka added as the ship closed and flew into space.

At Julie’s House…

Ben was monitoring Julie’s progress as he was teaching her to cook while the children were watching at a safe distance.

It was slow progress. Ben was having a hard time teaching her. Don’t get him wrong, he loved Julie and she was a wonderful parent to his kids. But… cooking was not her strongest trait, a thing she shared with Gwen, which is why Ben and Kevin often cooked. Julie, feeling her pride wounded, despite being so talented in many other things, didn’t like the idea that she is not even capable of boiling an egg. Which soon started the lessons for Julie and the headaches for Ben. Personally, Ben would rather go toe-to-toe with Vilgax on an asteroid belt without his watch than endure this, but he will for his girlfriend.

He, however, cannot do it at his house anymore, his parents made that painfully clear.

A few weeks ago, at Ben’s House…

Sandra and Carl were heading home as they were pleased that Ben would prep for dinner tonight.

It was a pleasant thing to learn that their son was so well efficient to not only cook for himself but for the people around him. It was such a talent that should be shared around the world. Sandra often suggested that Ben should have his own restaurant or an organic bakery. Carl has no idea where his son got the magic touch for cooking, he knew it wasn’t from his own father or him. Poor Gwen had trouble with it as she once accidentally caused the entire kitchen to be covered in pastry dough. Ugh.

“Ben wanted to teach Julie some cooking skills, so she is helping out with dinner tonight.” Sandra reminded her husband, “Seems the poor girl is having trouble at home economics and asked Ben for help.”

“Wouldn’t find a better teacher. I heard a rumor that Ben gets extra credit to fill the staff room with his confections. They are already got hooked to his cooking.” Carl proudly told his wife then had a twinge of concern, “I hope there’s not a mess in the kitchen.”

“Carl, don’t worry. I am sure Ben’s girlfriend is nowhere near as bad as Gwen. Plus, Ben would be there I’m sure it’s-MY HOUSE!!!” Sandra shrieked as she sees a fire in her kitchen!

Both Carl and Sandra rushed inside to see Ben putting out the blaze with the fire extinguisher! The poor boy was covered in sauces and burnt food as he was utterly speechless.

Sandra and Carl soon looked to see the poor stunned girl with a spatula and whatever she was trying to make for dinner.

“Hello… Mr. and Mrs. Tennyson…” She greeted them weekly.

“Five minutes…. I just went to the bathroom for five minutes…” Ben uttered under his breath.

The entire kitchen was a complete mess and the two were left stunned by it.

After that, Ben’s parents made a rule in the house, Julie and Gwen were not allowed to cook in their house anymore. They made Ben promise after the teens cleaned up the mess and they ordered pizza.

“Okay, Julie, Julie, you might want to bring up the eggs. They’re starting to turn a little… black.” Ben shivered as he still didn’t understand how she can overcook everything she touch.

“Ben don’t worry, I-.”

FWOOSH!

The hero then got the extinguisher and blew out the flames.

“Well, we’re making progress, and that all counts.” Ben chuckled a bit, trying to lighten the mood.

The children giggled a bit.

“I can do this, Ben. I just need to crack this nut.” Julie told him in determination.

“I get it. I get it.”

Ben was never happier then and there to hear the watch call for another mission.

In Space…

Ben was forced to take a shower on the ship as there wasn’t time to get clean on Earth.

After a cooking lesson with Julie, it takes eight showers to get out the various smells from his body. Sometimes his clothes are beyond salvageable and he needs to get new ones, though Julie does offer to pay for replacements, feeling bad her failure in cooking is costing Ben his attire. But Ben often refuses and marches forward.

After all, he did promise to teach her…

“Geeze, Tennyson, what were you trying to teach her to cook again?” Kevin laughed at his friend’s disgruntled state.

“Ha, ha. You know out of everyone you should know how this felt. After the pumpkin pie fiasco, who helped scrub your kitchen?” Ben reminded.

“Hey.” Gwen groaned.

“Speaking of cooking, I see you got something new baking in the kitchen.” Kevin pointed as he could smell the heavenly aroma.

“Something for the kids for their soccer game tonight. I call it the Celestial Rings Caramel Chocolate Cupcakes with Marshmallow Filling.” Ben answered as Kevin was tempted to have some, but Ben swatted his hand away, “You can have one once their game is over.”

“But before that, we need to stop the War of Red and Blue,” Gwen informed them as they got ready for the world below.

The aftermath of the war…

“Alright, enough! This war is pointless and it’s destroying your own planet. And all for painting the stupid-.”

DING!

Ben’s ears pricked as he heard the sound of the oven going off, then transformed into Fastrack.

“Hold that thought!” The hero urged the crowd.

“Ben wait-!”

But Ben already left for the ship to quickly pull out the cupcakes and finish them for the soccer game before realizing he was needed back and speeded back with the cupcakes. It looked like he arrived no sooner as the two groups looked like they were going to war again.

“As I was saying… And all for painting the stupid-.”

“Wait!” Both Generals howled at the same time, “What are those?”

They pointed hungrily at the cupcakes.

“Oh, these are just treats I’m making for a soccer match at Earth-.”

“No! No! Don’t leave them on Earth!” The armies pleaded, “We’ll do anything for them!”

An idea popped into Gwen’s head.

“Ben, I think you may need more ingredients.” She advised him as Ben turned to Probity, Argit, and Kevin.

“And I am going to need pairs of hands, too.”

The Treaty Celebration…

Everyone cheered as they were eating the peace-giving treats, Celestial Rings Caramel Chocolate Cupcakes with Marshmallow Filling as it was decided that the statue would be painted green in honor of Ben.

“Upon this year and every year to come, we will be united and feasting upon the delectable treats from beyond the stars thanks to the hero, Ben 10!” The Generals of the Planet declared as both raised each of Ben’s arms, “This day will be known as the Festival of the Green!”

The people cheered even more as they celebrated with their cupcake treats. While Kevin and Argit were tired, Ben turned to Probity with a cupcake just for her.

“You make a pretty good bakery chef.” Ben grinned.

“Thank you, Mr. Tennyson. For bringing peace to my world and making these sweet stuff.” The little girl thanked him as Ben grinned.

“Hey, how about for now on, every year I come back, I’ll teach you how to bake?” Ben offered as the little girl hugged.

Though one problem was solved, another rose.

What was he going to feed the soccer team?

Wait, he saw Gwen save some cupcakes. Good, he won’t get busted by his kids.

On the Sidewalk…

Ben was remembering a list he needed as he was with Max and Gibson.

“Milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, motor oil, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, motor oil, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil…”

Gibson groaned at his mother’s babbling.

“You forgot nails. To fix the books shelf in Iris’ and Verdona’s room” Max informed his mom.

“Thanks, Maxy. Nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil…”

“Why do you want us to come on your little errand?” Gibson groaned with arms crossed, wanting to be with his brothers and sisters.

“Gibson.” Max scolded his younger brother.

“I thought it would be a good time to spend some time together and it’s good for us to go on walks every now and then.” Ben smiled but it didn’t seem to work.

Gibson ignored him as Ben breathed a bit, Max giving his mother a look of sadness.

“Okay… nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil…”

BOOM!

Suddenly, an alien on a glider appeared with a laser ax!

“Ben Tennyson…” He sneered.

“Um… Yeah. Can I help you? I’m a little busy running an errand.” Ben calmly asked as the kids were shocked by the demeanor despite a mean threatening-looking alien appearing from an explosion.

What can he say?

Years of experience.

“You can help me to your watch.”

“Yeah… don’t think so. Kids, go hide.”

Max dragged Gibson to hide behind a trashcan, as they watched their mother transformed, ready to fight.

Chapter Text

Aftermath of the Battle…

Max and Gibson watched in horror as their mother disappeared with only a hand left of him.

That terrible hunter of artifacts and weapons, known as Sunder the Retriever just severed the Omnitrix hand of Ben 10, while the rest of him disappeared. The two flew into the air as they fought back against the lummox. He swung his ax at the flying children who swooped into action for their beloved mother…

he minions were retreating as Vulkanus was pinned down while completely frozen by an enraged Big Chill!

No, they would not let their mother suffer from this horrible nightmare!

Gibson froze the container and freed the hand as it was falling somewhere out of sight! It took time to ditch the bad guy, but once the boys did, they could hunt down the hand.

But luckily their father found it.

“Ben?” Julie questioned as she saw the kids.

“Dad, Dad! Mom needs help! An alien hunter did something to him!” Max pleaded.

 At the garage…

Kevin laughed at the sight of the hand while his nephews looked concerned, and Julie and Gwen looked angry.

“Kevin, this isn’t funny.” Gwen scolded her boyfriend.

“You’re right. You’re right.” Kevin tried to settle himself down from the laughter at the situation.

Then he saw the hand twitch and couldn’t hold it in any longer, another fit of laughter soon followed as it stunned everyone. How was it being Kevin was being so calm, if not in a fit of giggles at the sight of the living, twitching limb that was set before them on the table in the garage?

“How can you laugh about this when Ben can be-?” Julie began as the boy’s father was a pretty protective woman.

“Ben’s fine. See that energy? It’s a dimensional disturbance. Ben’s fine, the rest of him is somewhere else. I once sent my nose to another dimension with a cheap teleporter I was working on. Aren’t you going to ask how I smelled?” Kevin joked with the girls who crossed their arms.

“Terrible, like your jokes.” Gwen scoffed as she saw nothing funny about this, while Julie was looking towards the kids.

“So… Mum is okay?” Max asked as he touched the severed hand still wiggling.

Hand gently clasped the boy’s hand, to give comfort.

“Yeah, he’s just in another dimension. It should be easy to fix. All I have to do is-.”

Before Kevin could finish, the infamous alien Sunder the Retriever, the one who caused this, located the hand.

Aftermath of the fight…

Ben was more than happy to be home with his kids, though not happy to know that his kids fought against Sunder, or that he’s still covered in gross stuff.

“Gibby, Maxy, thank you for getting back here but no more fighting big aliens. You’re too young still and I prefer you guys not to get hurt.”

“We know, but we won’t say we’re sorry though,” Max answered.

“Wasn’t wanting you to. Just keep it in perspective and be sure you’re with someone, okay? You may one day be heroes, but you’re not there. If you have to fight nasty aliens like this, you have to be with your Aunt Gwen, Uncle Kevin, or anyone in the family who is good at fighting. Otherwise, big bad alien, you fly away, especially if Vilgax or the big gunned bad guys.”

“Yes, Mum.”

“Yes.”

Ben then looked at Gibbson, who didn’t want to admit it but was happy his mother was okay. So, that was a bit of a victory and Ben would take it. He hugged his child.

“Okay, boys. Let’s head home, washed up and I’ll head to the grocery store.” Ben declared as he remembered what he needed to get, “Nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil, nails, milk, yarn, new shoes, motor oil…”

On the couch…

Ben was sleeping on the couch as his son Ike was doodling pictures of him and his alien forms.

His poor mother had been working nonstop with alien attacks and missions and was finally given a break as Gwen and Kevin offered to bring food while Ben could sleep. He may be the greatest hero in the universe, but even he could be exhausted from the endless fights and promotions of peace and compromise. Too many aliens have thicker heads than most and it really got on Ben’s nerves greatly. Thus, the Plumbers decided Ben needed to use his off days, and thus… he decided to enjoy it by being with his family and peacefully sleeping the day away without any interruption.

The door slowly opened as Ike saw his father and his siblings quietly skitter into the house. Julie looked to the boy alien who made a gesture to be quiet and the girl nodded. The group was really quiet as Juile set down the food and toys for kids, while Ben was snoring. Julie handed out the food as she whispered to the little ones to be quiet while they ate. The only one who didn’t receive food was Ike as Gwen and Kevin were bringing him back something too. Julie went to check on her sleeping boyfriend.

“How long has he been asleep?” She wondered as she helped Ben lie down and then draped a blanket on his sleeping form.

“Since he came home.” Ike answered as he was drawing pictures of Rath who was shouting at naughty aliens, “Why does mommy have to be the only one to work so hard?”

“It does seem like that sometimes.”

Julie sometimes wishes that the entire universe didn’t rest on Ben’s shoulder all the time. That once, just once someone else could be the hero and Ben could just be on the sidelines. Maybe Ben wouldn’t be so half-dead all the time and could enjoy life with his kids. But apparently, there is no one qualified enough to be a good substitute for Ben, he seemed like the only hero in the world, and it didn’t seem fair.

But as often true to life, it wasn’t fair.

“What are you drawing?” Julie wondered as she was looking at her son’s drawings as he was such a creative little thing.

The little boy really did have such talent. Such an imaginative and skilled child with a rainbow of imagination and possibility.

“Rath and the other aliens from Mama,” Ike answered as he showed the designs done with crayons and paper.

“Cute~. It looks so much like Rath, good job showing the angry veins.” Julie smiled as Ike really did love anime like his mother.

Soon Kevin came clopping in as Ben woke up.

“Foods here!” Kevin declared as he earned glares from Julie and Ben.

At Mr. Smoothies…

Ben was slurping smoothies with his kids and team as he was happy to get a break.

From all the bad guys, from all the hero work, from all the peace treaties, negotiations, appearances as a symbol of hope, work in charities on other worlds, and everything else that came with being the universe's greatest hero of all time, it’s nice just to kick back and relax from all that stuff. He has been dying to spend some time with his kids and with the people in his life without any more interruptions. He may be a hero, but hey. Even Heroes need a good break once and again, for once not need to rush in because it might end the universe.

“How are you enjoying your peach apple smoothie, Maxwell?” Ben asked his eldest who had a taste for smoothies like his father.

The young father of a flock of blue ice moth aliens was elated to know that ten of fourteen of them enjoyed smoothies as much as he did. There were also eleven out of fourteen that love chili fries but that is a story for another time. Today was smoothie and soda day for his kids as everyone was enjoying watching the stars, Ben thinking about the day he found his kids again…

Big Chill soon began to faze through the other ship, that is when things began to get really hectic.

He couldn’t believe that Vulkanus’ selfish hunt for his babies would be what would unite him back to them and even though he vowed to maul Vulkanus the next time he saw him, he was grateful to be with his kids again. His family and friends were worried because of Ben’s age but he has proven to be a great father.

“Your kids and their smoothie selections… they are definitely yours, Ben.” Julie joked as Gwen was teaching Anodyne how to read spell books.

“Yeah, they really are.”

Ben really didn’t want this to end.

But then Vilgax came and ruined it.

Chapter Text

At the Chili Fries Shack…

Ben brought food for Vilgax… okay that was something he would never think about doing, let alone allowing the conqueror on his planet.

But he heard him out considering Vilgax informed him that his people were in danger, the children… how could he say no?

Still… Ben had a distingué nose for smelling a rat and when it came to Vilgax, he was the king of the rats. He was not a man of honor, nobility, or standards. He didn’t show any compassion or great inner strength. Vilgax was a coward, plain and simple. He only hungers for power and wants control, fearing what he doesn’t understand or control. He was far more arrogant than anyone he had ever met or knew, and the cruelest.

So, when Vilgax came with great humility and in desperate need of his help… Ben was skeptical, but he would hear him out.

“Here you go. It’s a kid’s meal, don’t tell anyone you’re over eight years old.” Ben joked as he tried to disuse the awkward situation.

Two enemies once engage in combat to the death from endless battlefields, trying to destroy the other, a hero and villain forever in a dance to only end when one is completely gone were now having a tasty meal to discuss teaming up to save a planet.

Yeah, what a weird way to start the day.

“So, mind telling me what’s been going on?” Ben began as he took a bite of his French fry.

“Ghostfreak.”

Ben suddenly stopped as a serious look plagued his face.

“What about him?” Ben demanded his tone changed from his usual happy-go-lucky tone.

“He escaped from his prison and has invaded my home world.” The conqueror informed.

“How!?!? Ghostfreak was completely incapacitated!! Grampa, Azmuth, and I made sure he couldn’t escape!!! Everything was planned out down to the final detail!! We made no mistakes!! Unless… he got help.” Ben suspected, giving a hairy eye to the enemy.

“It doesn’t matter how Ghostfreak escaped. What matters that your former alien has been terrorizing my home-.”

“What did you do, Vilgax?” Ben demanded, not buying Vilgax’s story.

“My home is attacked by your monster, and you blame the victim.”

Ben wasn’t buying it, but he relented.

“Okay, we will save your planet. But if I get proof that this is your doing, there will be hell to pay, if not already.” Ben threatened, deciding to put a pin on who was to blame for Ghostfreak being freed, “Now, let’s go to your planet and deal with Ghostfreak.”

Chapter Text

On the ship…

Vilgax could feel the hate tonight.

The feeling was mutual.

The thought made his skin crawl that he needed to beg for help from a prepubescent boy who became a single mother to fourteen offspring from another species, a mana child with the personality of gnarled driftwood and their juvenile monster pet. But it seemed that it wasn’t pleasant for them either as all three of them were a side-eyed glare to the overlord squid monster that tried to enslave the universe or kill Ben since he was ten years old. If it wasn’t for Ghostfreak causing great terror to the planet Vilgax ruled, Ben wouldn’t want to help.

The mere mention of children being in danger and Ben’s maternal instincts kicked in. It reminded him of his babies being caught in a dangerous situation by deranged criminals…

…than how could he not go?

“You sure, Squid Face isn’t just playing on your heartstrings?” Kevin questioned Ben’s judgment as both he and Gwen knew that Ben would never turn away a child in need of help and Vilgax’s claims of an entire planet of them was more than enough bait.

“If Vilgax is telling the truth and Ghostfreak is freed, then we need to put the djinn back in the bottle or a ghost back in his cage. Also, I want to figure out how my old villain alien managed to bust out and why he chose your world first.” Ben answered while his arms were crossed.

“Tennyson, I have nothing to do with this calamity to my world.” Vilgax snarled.

“Right, and I’m the king of the universe.” Ben sarcastically remarked as Gwen seemed to share the skepticism.

“We will help your planet. But the minute that Ghostfreak is caught, he comes back with us no questions asked and we’ll figure out what happened.” Gwen warned.

All the while, Ben was waiting what the plumbers and Azmuth were investigate the scene of the crime while they were ghost catching…

At the Prison of Ghost Freak…

“I still don’t understand, Azmuth. You and Ben know without a doubt that the Warlord is responsible for his own planet being haunted by the beast from the Omnitrix. So, what is the point of coming here?” One of the apprentices wondered to the great thinker.

“Because we need to know why. Vilgax may be a twisted, cruel monster but he is no fool. He would not have come here without reason, and we need to know why.” The Galvin answered as they were looking over the security tapes, “He is up to something and it has something to do with Ghostfreak or more accurately, it has something to do with the Omnitrix.”

“I hope you’re wrong. I know you are not, but I hope.”

At Vilgaxia…

The first moment there and they were attacked and not so long after was the cries of a child!

Both Vilgax and Ben bounced to action in order to find and protect the child from the Ghostfreak minions that enslaved the planet, Ben has a personal reminder to kick the specter's butt later and then Vilgax if it is his fault.

“Thank you, Great Protector and Ben Tennyson.” She thanked the pair.

“Hey, I’m a hero. It’s what we do. Listen, a little girl like you shouldn’t be out here alone.” Ben smiled, giving the child comfort as she reminded him of his own babies when they first came to live with him.

“But… nowhere is safe.” She whimpered.

“We have a ship. Those nasty ghosts won’t get through-.” Ben began but was interrupted.

“No, this child should come with us. She must not be left alone.” Vilgax interrupted.

“Come with us? Are you crazy? We’re going up against Ghostfreak! She won’t be safe.”

“And she will not be safe alone.”

The two then began to bicker over the safety of the child when Gwen intervened.

“Look, we can talk about it later but now we need to stop Ghost Freak.”

Vilgax and Ben for once in a lifetime agreed.

On Vilgaxia in the Palace…

He was here…

The boy… Ben Tennyson was here. That boy, he dreamt of the day that he would see the brat again. He wanted so many things from him, so many things. He wanted revenge for destroying him twice, trapping him thrice, and keeping him in that prison for so long. He wanted to be whole, to walk in the sun without burning to a crisp. He wanted to dominate and rule, and the boy was the key to his life as the ruler of the universe. Now, he was free, now he was ruling, now others inferior was suffering, and now the last key he needed was walking right into his new palace door with the one who freed him.

He felt like this was his birthday…

Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy.

He could see that the boy had grown, grown into a stronger vessel for him.

Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy. Oh joy.

He will now have everything.

Everything.

His life will be joy to their despair.

In the palace halls…

“What I’m telling you is that she should be carried piggyback style so she wouldn’t be caught in the crossfire,” Ben argued as he and Vilgax were still going on about the safety of the girl.

“And what if they drop from the ceiling and steal her away? She could turn into those creatures like the others.” The conqueror countered.

“Oh yeah, and lugging her is pretty comfortable for her.” Ben scoffed while Gwen and Kevin groaned as they kept arguing.

“How long have they been at it?” Kevin complained as he was nursing a headache.

“Hours. They have been at for hours.” Gwen answered as she herself was reaching the end of her tether.

They were getting glad that they were catching up to Ghostfreak so they could fight something other than themselves.

“We’re here,” Vilgax informed as they were hiding from Ghostfreak who was sitting on the throne, Vilgax then gently placed the girl.

“Okay, little one. You need to stay hidden. If things look bad then run, get to the ship, and don’t stop until you reach a plumber, let them know what happened.” Ben gently informed the girl, who nodded to the hero.

“I will. Promise.” She squeaked then the group went in to confront Ghostfreak.

Chapter Text

At the throne room…

Ben spotted the alien that haunted him his entire childhood, sweating bullets with fear of what this monster had done.

The young hero knew that what Ghostfreak does is his responsibility, but not truly his fault. While they were making their way to the palace, Azmuth managed to get hold of him and filled him in on what was really going down. He better get Ghostfreak out of here before Vilgax gets a hold of him again… even though he was tempted to have him punished by the tyrant he hated as much as the Alien of his past; he couldn’t let that happen. But first, he needed to be captured before that happened and the best way Ben sees it… is to give him what he truly wants.

“Are you sure about this Ben? I know how-.” Gwen voiced her concerns over her cousin.

“I know. But if I can take control of Ghostfreak, this ends. I can save everyone without any more harm.” Ben assured with a weak smile.

“And if you can’t?” Gwen uttered with worry for the boy.

“We do Plan B.”

Kevin and Gwen nodded, not wanting to use Plan B. Though Vilgax will revel in it, it would harm Ben.

“Don’t lose to him, Ben,” Kevin demanded while Ben smiled.

“I won’t.”

For his kids.

Back on Earth…

Julie was looking up at the night sky as she was worried about Ben.

When he told her about the sudden mission, Vilgax and this… Ghostfreak… ugh. She didn’t want him to go, she didn’t want him anywhere near those monsters and it was not that they were aliens but what was under the biology. Vilgax was an irredeemable genocidal dictator who ruled with a bloody iron fist and his mad thirst for power. Ghostfreak… from what Gwen showed, that phantom was something out of a horror show, he was something you tell kids to get them to behave.

Now, with Kevin and Gwen, Ben will have to face them both.

“I hope you’re okay, Ben,” Julie muttered under her breath as she noticed her honorary son, Ike was drawing something… something scary.

“Hey, Ike, what are you drawing? Can I see?” Julie asked the little boy, who looked a little upset?

No.

Afraid.

She looked and gasped at what she saw what he was drawing.

How-?

“It’s the bad monster ghost in my dreams. He came back again, and Mommy had to save me from him.” Ike explained to Julie as he curled up even more, “He comes into the other’s dreams too, but he likes scaring me the most.”

Is this why Ike isn’t asleep with his siblings?

“Oh, Ike. I’m sorry you’re having those dreams. But dream monsters can’t get you. They only exist in dreams, and they can’t hurt you, they can’t hurt anyone.” Julie tried to comfort but Ike looked more and more upset, “What’s wrong, Honey?”

“… He came back after Mommy left when I went to sleep. He told me… he said he was taking Mommy away; he was taking Uncle and Aunty and would come soon to take all of us away. I don’t want him to!”

Ike then began to sob while Julie was disturbed by the child's dream.

Was Ghostfreak really-?

No.

No, Ben was going to win and come back home.

“Daddy, can I stay up with you? J-just until Mommy comes home.” Ike pleaded to her, Julie noticing that the others were awake too, too scared to go back to bed, “We can all stay up until he’s home.”

The flock then fluttered over to Julie as she decided some Television would help the kid’s nerves and her own.

Ben will be back…

He will be…

Aftermath of Ghostfreak on the planet, Primus…

“Were you able to secure Ghostfreak?” Azmuth questioned Ben through the Omnitrix.

“Yes, as part of the deal of not revealing Vilgax for what he is, I get to take him. But it might be too late. Vilgax seemed more than willing to part with such a resource to… you know what.”

“It won’t matter, the planet is already on its way to be moved to a more suitable location.”

“You know that won’t stop him.”

“True, but it will give me time to prepare. I will contact you when you are required.”

“Sounds good. See you later.”

“Ben-.”

“Yes?”

“It’s nothing… Just return to your family.”

“Right. Bye.”

Azmuth then was quiet momentarily as he noticed how different Ben became. He should be happy about it, so… why was he-?

“Is everything alright?” One of the assistants wondered.

“Everything is fine. Everything is just fine.”

At the Tennis Match…

Everyone was cheering for the player they supported while Julie was showing her A-game.

She showed her stuff as the people were cheering for her, showing support for her abilities on the court. The ball went back and forth as Julie was preparing to score. They cheered when she managed to get her score! The children cheered for their surrogate father while their surrogate mother watched via phone from their haunt.

“Go, Julie! Go, Julie!” Ben cheered from the phone then turned (well Gwen turning the phone to see him, “Did she hear that?”

“I’m sure she did. She appreciates the support.” Gwen assured him, while he had to stay back with the car outside.

“Still stinks that I have to watch from the car. Why can’t I come in with you guys?” Ben whined a little while Kevin and Gwen rolled their eyes.

“You know why, especially after what happened last time.”

Two weeks before at the Tennis Match…

Ben, the kids, Gwen, and Kevin were cheering for Julie as she was about to win, all the while, not noticing someone bringing in a bag of peanuts.

The hero felt a little tickle in his throat at first. Maybe it was dry from all the screaming, no big deal. Heh, no big deal. Then he started feeling a little off, was it a cold? Maybe? Then he started to feel itchy, feeling swelling in his throat- ah oh.

“Um.. G-Gwen…” Ben voiced though it began to sound raspy.

“Ben, Julie is about to win.”

“Uh, t-this really can’t- Cough!! I think someone b-brought peanuts...”

Ben began to fall as Gwen caught her cousin, screaming his name. Everything started to go black when he felt his EpiPen being shot into his body. He woke up the next day in the hospital, back on his parents’ approved diet since this nut scare was brought to their attention.

Present Time…

Since then, Ben was forbidden from entering the court for his own safety, even when the ball court ban nuts, there was still always the chance.

It was deemed too risky for him. He was happy to know that his children didn’t inherit his allergy; they could watch the show without any worries. But now Ben was stuck outside, trying to see as much of the game as he could through the phone that was provided to him and Gwen.

“Julie wins!”

Ben hooped and hollered with joy for his girlfriend while everyone was watching the boy weirdly.

“What? I can’t go inside to watch my girlfriend win; I have peanut allergies.” Ben responded then the people went about their day.

Yep, another day for the universe’s greatest hero.

Notes:

I may make a sequel.
