“Are you sure you’re alright?”
Fundy gently nudges his head on Dream’s shoulder, before simply lying his head on it. “I proposed that we go here, husband. Unless you’ve forgotten about that fact…?”
They’re walking through the long bridge overlooking the wide river. The night has been lovely. They were on their way home from their elopement, a little party held by friends they’ve made in going here.
He laughs. “Of course I haven’t.” He pinches Fundy’s nose, an action that makes Fundy crinkle his face.
“Stop that,” he swats Dream’s hand away.
Dream laughs harder. “You are adorable.”
“And you’re - you are- you’re very-,” Fundy huffs as he pulls away, even as his hand remains clasped with Dream’s. “ Tu m’embêtes .”
“And what’s that mean?”
The fond expression disappears from Fundy’s face, as he looks more somber. “It’s something Mum used to say to Dad.” And then he smiles, as if looking back to those times. “She says it when- when Dad teases her too much.”
“Like what I did?”
“Like what you did.”
“Well, I hope it doesn’t mean anything too bad.”
It’s Fundy’s turn to laugh, as he leans on the bridge barrier, pulling Dream with him. “It doesn’t matter what it means, really, it’s just that. She’s fond and tired of him. At the same time.”
“Ah,” Dream transfers his hands on Fundy’s waist, nuzzling Fundy’s nose with his own. Fundy giggles at the show of affection, placing his hands on the back of Dream’s neck. “You mean you fondly find me annoying.”
There’s a second of processing before Fundy beams. “Yes! That’s the word! Now kiss me already and stop playing.”
He does what Fundy asked of him, but only pecks Fundy on the corner of the lips. When he pulls away, he sees Fundy crestfallen.
“What the hell was that!?”
“You asked for a kiss.”
“That was not a kiss!” Fundy hits him lightly on his chest. “You are annoying!”
“It classifies as a kiss, Mr WasTaken.”
He pouts. “Not to me.”
“Greedy man,” Dream says with a grin. “Or do I have to give you different types of kisses for you to be satisfied?”
“You-”
Dream takes Fundy’s hand, leans down to kiss the back of it. “A kiss on the back of the hand, for respect.” He turns Fundy’s hand around. “A kiss on the palm, to signify jealousy.” He straightens up, and sees Fundy already getting as red as his hair. But Dream isn’t finished quite yet. He cups Fundy’s face with his hands. “A kiss on the top of the head, for comfort and familiarity-” He then pecks at Fundy’s forehead - “And this one for affection.” He leans down to Fundy’s eyes, giving a light peck to each of his eyelids. “And an angel’s kiss for a wish that you wouldn’t have to cry.” He pecks at Fundy’s nose. “This one for sweetness. And this -” Dream pecks him on the lips again. “-is a kiss .”
Fundy’s blushing and looks like he can barely speak. “ We’re outside .” Fundy croaks instead, reminding Dream they are in full public view.
“So? You wanted me to kiss you, husband.”
“I meant-” He’s all flushed.
“What did you mean?”
Fundy taps his lips. “Here, but not just a peck.”
Dream smiles. “You’re needy.”
His husband laughs, despite the redness of his face. “For you? Always.”
