This was the second five-year assignment the crew of the USS Enterprise had been together for, nearly six years spent out in the infinite black expanse of space. Due to Federation Starships following the Earth calendar, Christmas was fast approaching once again. They hadn’t had the time to properly celebrate Christmas in the years past but they had already survived one five-year assignment with many crazy and death-defying missions later so this year was as good as ever.
Monday 20th December 2265
Time: 1600
Chat: Enterprise Senior Officers.
JimJam: We should do something for Christmas!
PLANTS: I’m down.
Made in Russia: yes
Uhura: Why not?
JimJam: Scotty? Bones? Spock?
NoBedsideManner: I don’t really have a choice, do I?
JimJam: No.
NoBedsideManner: Okay.
Scotch: sure.
Spock: I do not understand why we would place more emphasis on a Terran holiday when there are numerous others celebrated onboard this starship.
JimJam: That’s exactly the point, other non-Terran holidays are celebrated but one of the biggest Terran holidays isn’t.
Uhura: We’re celebrating it, Spock. You’re going to be there whether you want to or not.
PLANTS: ...Alright. Are we going to do it on Christmas Day or on another date?
NoBedsideManner: If we have to do it, Christmas Day makes sense.
JimJam: Right. Christmas Day it is.
