Chapter Text
"I can smell victory in the air! The end of this year's National Pokémon League draws near as our last two trainers come down to their final Pokémon! Who'll take the crown in the end? The city kid from Castella City or the all time champion of our league for six whole years now? Will the crown finally be passed down?! Who knows!! Let us watch intensely and find out!'
The commentary blared from the speakers of a packed stadium with a roaring crowd, each and every single member cheering on both contestants while the two stood at opposite ends ready to release their final Pokémon and end this long and eventful battle. On one side stood the challenger, a young, average looking Pokémon Trainer that had worked his way up the ranks of every gym leader and elite four to face the champion. He clutched his final pokeball tightly in his hand, determined to win this battle.
On the other side stood the champion. One who had hailed from a nowhere town and became practically legendary. Undefeated for years since her first Pokémon league battle with the dragon trainer Iris as champion. Her ice-cool looks mixed with a punk aesthetic made her a hit amongst fans no doubt, but what really got people so hyped about her was how she singlehandedly helped take down a faction of terrorists and tamed ferocious beasts of Pokémon with nothing more than her will and bond with her Pokémon. Adored by fans for her legendary status and fashion sense, feared by her foes for her powerful Pokémon and ruthless attacking style. She had put up a relentless fight with this challenger and this challenger fought back as ruthlessly as he could in exchange. It all came down to this.
"This one's for you Ted. COME ON GIGALITH!! LETS SHOW 'EM WHAT WE'RE TRULY CAPABLE OF!!"
The challenger threw the ball as hard as he could, releasing a Pokémon that could only be described as a quadruped rock monster. An immensely powerful Gigalith that he was clearly proud of by how hard he was grinning. He couldn't have looked any happier than how he did now just by the mere presence of the Gigalith. The champion just stood there, grinning along also. Not just because she was happy that her opponent was happy, oh no. But because she had just the right Pokémon to counteract this.
"Nice Gigalith you got there! Real impressive!"
She reached behind her and unhooked a pokeball from a hidden belt underneath her shirt, her genuine smile twisting into a mean smirk.
"Mind if I show you my own powerhouse? GO! LAPRAS!"
The champion flung the pokeball as hard as she could, releasing her Lapras onto the battlefield. The seemingly docile creature held the same aura the champion had: graceful and elegant but with ice cold and powerful undertones. This did not throw off the challengers.
The two flung themselves towards each other, attacks at the ready. But before the first hit of the last Pokémon of this climactic battle could be seen…
*bzzrt*
The TV in the salon shut off, much to the sole viewer's surprise.
