Work Text:
“Mr. Wing, why do you always wear…”
Rosa makes a complicated face, as if she hasn’t prepared for her next words, and gestures to his clothes. Artem Wing tilts his head, sipping his coffee once and twice before looking down on himself.
“Long sleeves and turtlenecks outside of work?”
He tries, continuing her sentence with a smile that’s barely there on his lips. Rosa nods slowly, looking a bit guilty as he finishes the sentence for her. Artem puts a hand on his chin, pretending to think about the answer. (He’s a professional attorney now, and he can’t afford to disappoint his subordinate who always looks at him with her sparkling eyes, right?)
“It’s more comfortable this way.” So he settled with a simple answer, trying not to show the relief on his face when she visibly relaxed at his words.
(Pray to god that the Stellis citizens never know this, for Artem Wing is a big liar.)
“I’m home.”
The brown haired attorney quietly says, sighing into the emptiness of his apartment as he loosens his tie before throwing it onto the couch. Artem looks at the clock ticking in the corner of his living room. It’s only 10 PM. The man then takes off his coat, unbuttoning his upper buttons and walks to the kitchen to grab a glass of water, ignoring the hanging noose in the middle of his kitchen.
He gulps, wiping the water off his lips. He glances at the clock once again, not wasting a breath to throw the oddly placed cutter on his counter that his hand accidentally brushed against into the drawer.
It’s now 10.10 PM.
Artem Wing fills the glass again, carrying it to his desk. He opens his laptop and stretches his back.
The night has only just started.
