Backstage

Summary:

Yoon falls asleep on Mino’s shoulder backstage post-concert. That’s the whole Fic. Enjoy these MinYoon crumbs.

Notes:

So I watched Passage online even tho I’m currently living in Seoul literally 8 miles away but I’m still doing my 10 day quarantine so I couldn’t go in person TT_TT. Anyway it was amazing so I got inspired to write this cute thing afterwards. Hope y’all enjoy!

Work Text:

Seungyoon sat backstage with his back against some cool metal scaffolding, watching staff run every which way cleaning up after his performance. He was technically supposed to be getting changed and ready to ride home, but he was so exhausted. It had probably been a mistake to sit down, because now that he had, he wasn’t sure he had the energy to stand back up again.

He leaned his head back and closed his eyes. A presence in front of him made them snap back open again and he barely raised his head before he saw who it was and let it drop back again.

“You we’re doing a lot out there tonight.” Mino commented, knees cracking as he settled down next to Seungyoon. “Congrats dude. C’mere.”

He gently guided Seungyoon’s head onto his shoulder, but in response the younger leaned his whole body into him and whined.

“Ahhh Yoonie you’re getting my silk suit all sweaty. Here let me help you.”

Reaching over to the side, he grabbed Seungyoon’s water bottle and poured what was left of it over the clean side of the cloth he’d been using earlier on stage to wipe his face.

“Dont smear my makeup.”

“What was that?”

“I said don’t smear my makeup.” He repeated a bit louder.

“Oh hush you picky ingrate.” Mino shushed him affectionately and began patting the sweat off his friend’s face and neck.

Even despite the constant dabbing of the cloth, Seungyoon felt himself getting heavier by the second as sleep called louder and louder. The hum of the machinery and fans talking as they exited the venue was soothing, his ears still buzzing from the loudness of the concert and the little adrenaline still thrumming through his system desperately trying to keep him awake. Just for a few minutes, until Mino was satisfied with wiping off his face.

“How did your first solo concert feel?” Mino asked absentmindedly as he realized he’d been doing nothing productive with the towel for the past few seconds.

“Uh…Seungyoon? …..Yoonie?”

The weight on his chest had become heavier and he looked down to find Seungyoon fast asleep, headset still half in and all.

“Aish this kid.”

He carefully removed the piece from around Yoon’s neck and waved down a staff member, handing it to them to get sanitized and returned to its case. The faint puff of Seungyoon’s breath against his collarbone was starting to tickle, so he moved his arm around Yoon’s shoulder to shift him into a different position. Mindlessly he brought his hand up to play with a few strands of dark hair. It was still long and soft, unlike His which had been so damaged from bleach he’d been forced to shave it off.

“You deserve this Seungyoon. You work so hard for us.” He murmured, resting his cheek against the top of his head.

“Oh he’s sleeping.” The sound of Jinu’s voice made him look up to see the two other Winner members standing there.

“Passed right out I see.” Seunghoon chuckled before bending down to ruffle Seungyoon’s hair affectionately.

“We came to congratulate him but looks like we’ll have to text him instead.”

“Do you need help getting him to the car? Hoony could probably carry him.” Jinu offered.

“Oh big baby he can walk. You baby him so much hyung.”

“Be nice! He was just up there jumping around on stage like a madman for nearly half an hour straight.” Jinu reached up and pinched the other’s ear.

“Alright alright. Mino untangle yourself and go find man—his manager.” Seunghoon ordered as he crouched down in front of Yoon to make hauling the sleeping maknae up onto his back a bit easier.

The movement seemed to rouse Seungyoon enough that he instinctively wrapped his arms around Hoon and buried his face into his neck before dozing off again.

“Reminds me of old times.” Jinu opened the door for Hoon and shivered as the cool night hair hit them.

Seunghoon hummed.

Mino came back and informed them that the manager was bringing the car around.

“Good. He’s getting heavy.”

“I see your military training was useless.” Mino teased, “can’t even carry a skinny 67kg guy.”

“He’s legs!! Too much legs!” Hoon complained, hoisting Seungyoon up from where he’d been slipping.

“Good lord.”

Somehow between the three of them, they managed to prop Seungyoon up in the backseat long enough for Mino to climb in next to him.

“Not that heavy.” Seungyoon mumbled as soon has he’d shut the door, the faint voices of Hoon and Jinu chatting with the manager drifting in.

“Just go back to sleep, Yoon.” Mino shushed him, pushing his head back down. “Unfortunately manager-nim and I don’t have the big strong muscles Hoony does so we can’t carry you into the dorm. You’ll have to walk.”

“Uhuh.”

“We’re all so proud of you, Yoonie.” Mino kissed the top of his head. “I’m so proud of my best friend.”

“Stop talking I’m trying to sleep.”

“Yah!”
