Benjamin panicked as the robber held the gun up to him. What should he do? What should he do? He was near tears as he couldn't come up with an idea. The robber seemed to get annoyed and slightly waved the gun as a reminder. Then, maybe the stupidest thing came to mind. He steadied his shaking before speaking.
"Hold on! How about instead of money, do you wanna go out to dinner with me?" Benjamin was glad he didn't stumble on his words. What he just said was embarrassing enough.
The robber paused and stared at Benjamin. "... You're asking me out on a date?" the robber said skeptically. Benjamin felt his face heat up, and he nodded. "Ah..." the robber seemed to be caught off guard. For a second, Benjamin felt dread crawl up his spine, but that was interrupted by a thunderous and strangely familiar laugh.
"Hahaha!!! I can't tell if you got guts or just plain easy! Who'd want to date a nerdy-looking guy like you, hahaha!" the robber cackled. Benjamin's fists clenched as he just wanted to crawl in a hole in his embarrassment. Then, something clicked.
"Wait, did you call me a nerd just now? Don't tell me you're..." Benjamin started. No, no, no, no. He wanted to ask the hot demon guy after the trials and after he told Violet everything.
"Yup it's me! Bwahaha, you should've seen the look on your face!" Wayne laughed. Benjamin was about to snap at him but something caught his eye. Was Wayne blushing?! No, he's imagining things. He's sure that red tint on his cheeks was always there. It's just wishful thinking.
Benjamin pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind as annoyance filled him. "Darn it. You scared me there for a second!" he griped. Wayne seemed to hesitate ever so slightly, it wouldn't have been noticeable if it wasn't for Benjamin watching his every move already. "Hold on you think I'm not going to shoot you? Think again!!!" Wayne said with less punch than usual.
Before Benjamin could comment on the sudden change of behavior, Wayne cut him off. "Have fun in your next trial. Also, you can keep your petty little token," Wayne hummed. "What?" Benjamin said before he heard a bang, and his vision turned to black.
He jolted up to a sitting position, and he held his head. The bang still reverberated throughout his skull. "Ugh, I can't believe he actually shot me. That shit really hurts a lot! That darn sadistic demon..." Benjamin said with much less malice than he intended. He almost sounded like he was playfully scolding a kid more than anything else.
"Where am I taken to this time?" he asked himself. He got up and walked farther into the large room. This was a hospital. Or Hellspital if he was going by the design on the carpet. "A hospital huh. Well, that's real nice of him," he muttered sarcastically.
He rubbed his temple and glanced towards the receptionist. He should be getting on with the trials.

Wayne walked towards Benjamin. He froze and took a step back. "W-wait! Please hear me out once I open this capsule!!!" Benjamin fiddled with the capsule nervously. Finally, he opened it. He was stunned to find what was inside. A gun. A fully loaded gun.
He dropped the capsule and solely the gun stayed in his hands. He stared wide-eyed. What was he supposed to do with this?! Shoot Wayne?! He couldn't... There's no way he could. How could he?! His hands trembled as he held the gun properly.
He glanced at Wayne, who looked surprised. Benjamin pursed his lips and slowly lifted it to point at Wayne. He gave him every second to move or say something, but Wayne didn't do anything. He squeezed his eyes shut and hoped the other would move out of the way. He pulled the trigger hesitantly. A bang echoed through the empty room.
Benjamin opened his eyes slowly and saw that Wayne was gone. He froze for a split second before remembering that he'd been shot before too. He was fine, well as fine as he could be that is. Wayne probably decided to play a prank on him. It would certainly be on-brand for him.
He sighed softly and dropped the gun. He shook his head and walked out the glowing doorway. He had unfinished business that he was planning to complete.
Wayne appeared after Benjamin left. He sighed and picked up the gun. "Good on him for having the guts," Wayne smiled to himself. He glanced towards the doorway and chuckled softly, "See you in a few minutes, Benjamin," he said knowingly.
Until those minutes were up, he had to wait. He didn't mind, Benjamin seemed worth the time. Also, he had to throw back that girl to her torture. Weird sicko fed cute dogs to her Lovecraftian horror of a pet.
~~~
Wayne sat on his throne when he heard the door open. He looked over and saw Benjamin walk to him. "Welcome back to hell nerd!!!" he said a bit more lovingly than intended. The other noticed the tone change and smiled kindly to him. "I'll be your torturer today. The name is Wayne if you have already forgotten," he said in a different tone. It was almost loving.
"So I'm dead yet again," Benjamin said with a smile. "That's right nerd. I heard you finally got to meet your lady friend earlier. Well, how's the risk now?" Wayne said with a smirk. Benjamin thought for a second before laughing. "Worth it," he said between giggles.
"I'm glad you think so nerd, even though it killed you," Wayne chuckled. Benjamin laughed along.
Benjamin gulped and decided there was one more risk he wanted to bet on. He walked up to Wayne and mentally prepared himself. Wayne raised an eyebrow and waited for the other to make a move.
"I'm interested in taking another risk," Benjamin said. "Is that so nerd? Would you like to tell me what it is?" Wayne had a guess on what the risk was.
"Do you want to go out on a date?" Benjamin asked. Wayne smiled, he was right. "I guess for a nerd, you aren't so bad," Wayne stood up and looped his arm around Benjamin's shoulder. "Ok, let's go. I have a place in mind," Wayne said happily. Benjamin nodded and followed Wayne's lead.
