"A fool wouldn't even dare look him in the eye"

Summary:

The quirkless are weak.
That's what izuku Midoriya had been told his entire life. He would never make it to the top. He'd never be a hero.

Society had failed him.

They had failed to protect he ones he cares about. They had failed to protect him.
He wanted to protect the people who couldn't protect themselves. People who were like him.
But how?
He couldn't be a normal first year at U.A. He couldn't be a hero.
But then again Izuku Midoriya was never normal.
He was quirkless.
He had to work harder then any of the kids his age.
In Aldera, the teachers didn't care if he didn't understand.
They didn't bat an eye if they saw the quirkless kid beaten and bruised, passed out in a hallway.
He had to bandage his wounds himself. The school nurse wouldn't help.
No one would help the quirkless.

With only himself to trus
Izuku only has one option left.
He'd do it the illegal way.

Notes:

right so first I want to say that I have literally never done anything like this before. Not to mention i am dreadful with punctuation and spelling ect. so if u see any type of mistake I'm really sorry 🖐 this is also more for me because I come up with fic ideas that I can never really find and don't want to wait for someone else to put it in their fics. so I'm basically writing this more for myself and I know there are people that would be able to write this way better that I could. Also if anyone does decide to read this there will not be a set day where I will post updates whenever its done its done and it will be posted then. Honestly this is inspired by like all the vigilante fics i've read but i will try to make it my own😀🖐 The first few chapters might be small as i am try to get used to this but as the story goes on hopefully they will be longer 😅 once again i'm really sorry if you find this boring but like i said im doing it for myself but also hope you enjoy it too :) love you <3

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter Text

"WaterBoy and FireGirl!" the younger boy joked, throwing a fist above his head.

"Zuku. I'm pretty its FireBoy and WaterGirl." the older girl spoke with a smirk appearing across her face.

The boy floods with embarrassment. Cheeks turning red as he scrambles to cover his face with his hands.

It wouldn't have worked anyway. Unless she was willing to dye her vermillion hair blue and his forest green hair red. it would just make it more iconic.

The girl sighs. Both trying not to laugh, they burst into swarms of giggles. Covering each others mouths knowing it was 1am and Izuku Midoriya was not welcome in this household.

Her parents had already suffered enough when being told they had a quirkless child. When Midoriya was introduced, truth be told they didn't want their 'mistake' to be hanging around with another's 'mistake'.

**********

They pause.

They were startled and slightly afraid. Why? Simply because they heard a door creak open. It's not like they hadn't been in this situation before. Izuku was always sneaking into Miki Minami's house via her bedroom window. it was the only way they could see each other. They hadn't gone to the same school, and Miki was always busy during the day usually with piano lessons, all different types of martial arts and all the posh-y hobbies.

You see Miki Minami's family was filthy rich.

She had everything given to her.

The Midoriya's on the other hand, weren't as lucky as the Minami's. They lived in an small apartment. Just Izuku and his mother, Inko. His father wasn't in the picture. They had enough to get by. Enough to buy occasional luxuries. They were stable.

However, Izuku and Miki were robbed of something. Something that ruined they're lives. Something they had in common although, they were different from the rest. But it wasn't a good different. Nobody wants to be quirkless.

To put it simply, being quirkless was at the bottom of the 'foodchain'.

**********

As Miki turned to Izuku he was already hanging out the window. That was to be expected though. He'd always been quick to react.

Having picked up all his notebooks about his hero analyse ( the first 12 to be exact ) he stuffed them in his yellow backpack, hopping over to the window, where his red shoes await on the roof of Miki's conservatory, ready to be slipped on. Izuku gives Miki a quick salute and a cheesy grin before making his way out of the Minami's property.

She laid there pretending to be asleep as her mother crashes through the door.

She glanced at Miki before leaving a shutting the door behind her.

If she had checked properly she would have realised Miki wasn't asleep but she was very much awake with a smirk across her face.

Meep Meep:

*******

Izuku is awoken by irritable ringing of his bronze age all might alarm clock, followed by his sliver age and gold. Izuku has always been a big fanboy. He loved heroes. Ever since he saw that video of all might he's absolutely adored them. He studies them, digging and digging for all the information he can get. His analysing skills really are extraordinary. Most would think its some sort of quirk. Damn it would be useful one. A quirk that would definitely get him into heroism.

Izuku's 'school friends' think otherwise. He's just a useless deku to them.

Izuku drags himself out of bed. Groaning as he waddles to his bathroom

He had gotten more sleep than he usually did.

But his mirror tells him otherwise.

The dark circles under his eyes had grown darker. Izuku has always had trouble sleeping.

I mean everyone has their bad days.

Izuku, still half asleep stumbles out of his room where he is greeted by his mother. She brushes her hand through Izuku's bouncy green curls while walking over to the kitchen. Izuku picks up his cat mug. The coffee his mother had made not so long ago, wakes izuku up after awhile.

"Good Morning dear" Inko said braking the silence. His mother has noticed these past years that Izuku barley remembers anything said to him before he actually wakes up. She took note it and adapted.

Izuku sends back a smile, the freckles on his face lifting.

He begins to walk away to go get ready for school.

Izuku and Miki are both in their last year of middle school. Both applying for the prestigious school U.A.

They hope to become heroes.

Both being quirkless they needed to train in some ways to get into U.A after all they are applying for the hero course.

********

Dagobah beach.

Izuku's 'training grounds'.

The beach was covered in rubbish that had built up over the years. It had become a place for people to throw away unwanted items. However, for izuku it was perfect. He created a few 'dummies' that he kicked and punched, he made some foam ones at first so he wouldn't hurt himself. Izuku did end up finding a punching bag in the dump, which worked a lot better. He used pipes and sharper pieces of scrap he found as possible weapons, considering he'd be fighting quirkless he'd need a weapon. Miki had made him a few weapons too. However none of them really worked for him. He was able to work on his strength by clearing the beach little by little. Dragging big items like washing machines and fridges. He also once moved a car. At the time it took him a whole day. The beach also helped with his agility. Walking is hard enough on sand. However, running was a whole lot harder. It took time for Izuku to get used to but with him running the whole beach almost every day after school, his speed increased not only of the sand but also on normal hard ground. With running the beach and pulling heavy items across it, his stamina increased as well. He had higher endurance levels than any normal kid his age.

But then again Izuku Midoriya wasn't normal.

He was quirkless.

He had to work harder then any of the kids his age.

In Aldera, the teachers didn't care if izuku didn't understand.

They didn't bat an eye if they saw the quirkless kid beaten and bruised, passed out in a hallway.

He had to bandage his wound himself. The school nurse wouldn't help.

No one would help the quirkless

**********

Hero analyse book 13. Burnt to a crisp but also soaking wet.

That goes for Izuku as well.

Rubbing his hand again his shoulder. Izuku sighed. He was used to it. Used to Kacchan's powerful quirk. However, he was sure this one would leave a nasty scar. It might even leave a handprint. It hurt a lot more than the others had. Yes of course Izuku had gained many scars from Kacchan ever since he was told he was quirkless. But the burns had always been the worst. They took ages to heal and they were hard to cover up around his house. Izuku obviously didn't tell his mother about the bullying.

**********

"Hope you'll be born with a quirk in your next life! And go take a swan dive of the roof of the building"

The words repeat in Izuku's head. What if he actually did it. What if Izuku had actually killed himself. How would he feel then? Izuku thought to himself. With a scowl on his face, his eyes fell down to look at the pages of book number 13. It was unreadable. Ruined.

**********

"Why don't they try hitting someone else for a change" Izuku mumbled as he slouched back into his desk chair.

"Hope you'll be born with a quirk in your next life! And go take a swan dive of the roof off the building"

The world stole a few breaths from him. Heart beating the slightest bit faster. Closing his eyes, Izuku puts his head between his knees.

"quirk"

"swan dive"

"building"

Feeling sick, Tired, But wide awake.

Izuku eventually ends up falling asleep.

Time:  1:23

With his mother fast asleep in the room down the hall, Izuku is ready to be the cause of a headache.

Throwing on a black drawstring hoodie and black sweatpants, he walks out of his apartment to find himself sliding down the railing of the stairs of the apartment complex. This has become a daily thing for Izuku. In fact, Izuku likes to make the streets his own obstacle course, jumping over mailboxes, rubbish bins, balancing on street signs. Izuku believes that anything can be turned into some sort of training. Training for U.A. Training to be a hero.

Reaching the Minami's house, Izuku climbs up to Miki's window, tapping gently on her window. Smiling with her teeth, Miki opens the window letting her dear friend in. Izuku stands there with a look of concern. Miki's room was trashed. Her hair a mess. Face bright red. Izuku had come at the wrong time. Still putting on a smile, she began to pick up things off the ground putting them back in their assigned places.

"Oh Zuku" she started, "I made you a weapon you could possibly try ou-"

She was pulled into a hug. Izuku's hug. Tears started rolling down her face. Eventually falling to the ground.

Silence.

"Izuku" Miki began, "I'm tired."

Silence had fallen again until a quiet "me too.." comes from Izuku's mouth.

Izuku tip toes over to her desk when he finds a pile of chains.

He pauses.

He turns his head to Miki with wide eyes.

They stare at each other.

Izuku finally blurting out, "kinky" giving her a wink.

Both burst into laughter.

Izuku picks up the black chains. To his surprise they were light. Very light.

Miki had been making different types of weapons for him to try for a while now. They couldn't buy any, they were only kids. No one would sell dangerous weapons to two 14 year olds, and they're parents would never even consider getting anything for them. However, everything they've tried didn't really work for Izuku and they were running out of options.

Miki had made him some chains.

Earlier that month they had tried something similar to Eraserhead's scarf. Of course it wasn't exactly like Eraser's as they couldn't really figure out how to put Izuku's DNA into it without proper equipment however, Izuku found himself liking how it worked but found himself losing grip. They tried a rope but it was giving him friction burns. And now chains. They seemed like the perfect weapons. Izuku couldn't wait to try it out.
