The Oni King Becomes A Writer For A Magazine To Give Advice To Others

Summary:

Itto loses a challenge and becomes a writer for Yae Miko's strange magazine. He originally only read it for Ms.Hina but now, he's become in the same situation as her! The key point is that no one knows who is truly behind Ms.Hina or the new writer, Ms.Yui. What will happen as their story continues? No one knows(except for Yae Miko)

Notes:

I got this stuck in my brain but Ms.Hina is hot so I was like "What if I made Itto go through that and become extremely attractive as well? Not that he isn't attractive"

Chapter 1: The Beginning of It All

Chapter Text

On one peaceful day, a large, boisterous oni stormed around Inazuma City. He had been looking for a general to fight with, Gorou or Sara. The oni had always been known to roam around wherever he could, be it villages or the city itself. Currently, he was doing what he had been doing for the past few days. Searching for someone to fight.

As he stormed around the city, he ended up being stopped by a certain pink eared fox near the Yae Publishing House. He gave her a confused look as she inspected the oni before nodding.

“You’re constantly oh so loud, Itto. How about you become one of our columnists? Similar to the one you hold close to your heart, Ms.Hina.”

She spoke, playing with her hair as she stared straight into Itto’s eyes. The taller man could not help but avoid eye contact with her. He was usually very confident but for some reason, seeing this person made him very anxious. She let out an obvious forced gasp before placing a hand on Itto’s shoulder,

“Well, how about a small competition? You sure like those.”

This instantly got his attention and so, he gave her a wide grin.

“What is it gonna be? Card games? Beetle fighting? I’ll beat you for sure!”

Yae Miko smiled, she knew just how to get this guy riled up. She looked around before getting on her tippy toes, whispering to the tall oni.

“How about a card game? First one to a single card wins. I know you’ve played this before but if you want to play a different card game, I don’t mind at all. If I win, you have to join our magazine as a writer.”

She took a step back, waiting for Itto to process this information. The cogs in his brain started to turn and he looked at her with those fierce red eyes.

“There’s no way I’d lose! Challenge accepted! Just be prepared to accept your defeat! If I win, you have to supply my gang with all the magazines for life and for free!”

There would be no way he could lose. Absolutely no way….

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“W-what?! Cheater! This can’t be-”

Itto looked at his deck of cards, it consisted of 2 cards but the fox already had one card? He slammed the cards down onto the ground and groaned, covering his face. How did he lose? The strategy he spent over 300 games forming was defeated by someone who was constantly at the shrine? Knowing he had been defeated, he looked up to see Yae Miko smiling as she started writing something on the piece of paper she brought.

“I would never ever cheat, Itto. How dare you assume I would do such a horrible crime?”

She was clearly being dramatic, placing a hand on her chest with eyes wide opened, before returning to her smug resting face. The reaction of the oni was very entertaining and she couldn’t help but chuckle, earning a glare from the oni.

“Now that your fate has been decided, here are a few letters you should respond to. All you have to do is respond with advice! It’s as simple as that and when you’ve finished, please hand it over to the Yae Publishing House or you could personally send it to me. I am quite busy and oh my! Look at the time! I have to go meet with a certain furry friend of mine. Have fun, Arataki ‘The Writer’ Itto!”

Itto sat there, staring at the sheets of paper lying in front of him and then at the pen Yae had left him. With a loud sigh, he pulled out a letter written by someone and started to read it.

‘Hi!
This is my first ever letter to the new part of the magazine. Usually, everyone just sends it to Ms.Hina but I wanted to give the new person a try! I would hate to bother Ms.Hina so please help me out! I need help on confessing to this person I like! They are super kind and we’ve been talking for a while, in fact, we’ve been childhood friends! Please assist me! How do I confess to her? Any tips?”

A love letter, huh? Well, I have nothing better to do so I will just respond! Itto smiled as he started to write on the blank sheet of paper provided by Yae Miko. The writing utensil glided across the paper as he wrote his response.

‘Hello!
I know you’re struggling with your love life and all so let me help ya! First, you should be straightforward with them! If you try to make it convoluted and all that, I doubt your love interest will even know what you’re trying to get at! Secondly, bring gifts! Gifts can easily win one’s hearts! Oh and last but not least, be prepared to get rejected! I know it sounds mean and all but there’s always that chance where they won’t reciprocate those feelings. You should be accepting of it! Never ever get mad at them for not liking you back because friends are very important and you should keep as many good friends as you can! Hope to see your response soon!’

That wasn’t so bad! He actually quite enjoyed the thrill of writing and the feeling that he was able to help people. There sat the oni, scribbling away as he assessed every single letter and wrote a response to each one. Once he finished all the letters, he walked all the way over to the Yae Publishing House and dumped the letters onto the poor man working there. It wasn’t like he was going to get popular in a span of a few days so then, he spent the rest of his day spending time with his other members, playing games with them and having some of the most idiotic competitions known to any Inazuma citizen.
