Work Text:

Vi landed on top of you with a thud. You groaned as you weakly attempted to push her off.

“Vi~ move!” Your voice was muffled by her muscle as she rolled off from on top of you. “Sorry, Sweets,” she remorsefully spoke.

“Thought last time was the last time we were gonna do this,” Mylo complained.
“Well, this times the last time,” Vi assured.

“Guys, what was that? What the hell happened back there?” The four older teens looked over to the smallest one knowingly.

“I don’t know. I didn’t do anything,” Powder defended.

“You could fill a damn library with all the things you didn’t do,” Mylo sassed sarcastically.

“Guys, we just emptied a Piltover penthouse right under the enforcers noses. So, if you’re done beating yourselves up, let’s get this home.” Vi threw the heavy backpack over her shoulder, going down the shaft to the trap door above them that leads to the streets of The Lanes.

The door creaked as it opened, clattering to the ground as Vi jumped through the opening, pulling Powder up through the door. Mylo gave you a boost as Claggor passed the bag to Vi, the leader taking it on her back as they started their tread home.

The group took their strides quietly as to not draw any unwanted attention. Claggor and Mylo playfully showed each other, the latter chuckling in amusement.

That didn’t work out in their favor.

“Nice haul?” A blonde boy resting himself atop a sideways trashcan questioned.

“You could say that.” Mylo slyly responded.

“I heard there was some action across the river.” You sighed as you listened to Deckard antagonize your friends. “Someone uh, someone really kicked the nest, huh?” He flipped the coin in his hand.

“Is that so?”

You reached out your hand, holding onto Vi’s wrist as you tugged slightly. “He’s not worth it, let’s just go home,” you muttered as your grip got a bit tighter. Vi looked down at you, a small nod given. The pinkette turned around, ready to keep walking but stopped in her tracks as two more males were blocking the road.

Vi’s hand wrapped around your wrist on instinct, pushing you ever so slightly behind her as she gave the boys a look.

Deckard snickered, getting up from his spot to approach the group. “But now you’re, you’re tracking this mess of yours through my streets.” You sharply inhaled, knowing this would top the girl beside you off the edge.

“Your streets? What makes you think-” the girl was cut off by Claggor, attempting the peace-make. “Listen, we don’t want any trouble, okay?” as he stepped in front of Vi to face the blond.

“Hear that, Deckard? They don’t want any trouble?” A man with a buzzcut spoke sarcastically.

“You know, in my experience, trouble finds you.” You glared at him through narrowed eyes as he continued to speak. “There’s no reason this has to get ugly. How about you-” he strived towards you and Vi. “-share a little taste of your treasure there, and we’ll call it even?” He reasoned.

“No, no, no. We worked too hard to-” Vi cut off Mylo’s refusal, putting a hand on his shoulder as she let go of you to step to Deckard. The bag dropped from her back to her fingertips as she looked him in the eye.

“Just a taste?” She confirmed.

“Vi, you can’t seriously be considering-”

“Just a-” Both sentences were cut off by the mans yelp of pain as Violet slammed the bag into his cheekbone, sending him tumbling into the road. Using Deckard’s incompetence to her advantage, Vi threw the bag to Powder, hitting her square in the chest as you and the boys put up their fists. Deckard grunted as he pushed himself off the ground.

The boy with the buzzcut charged for you, Mylo smashing into him but being too light to over power him and ended up under him on the floor.

Claggor was handling two of them. You made the decision to take one on, using the momentum of your sprint to jump in the air and knee him in the face, rolling your body as you fell.

Your feet planted into the ground as you got up, your fists level with your face to block any alternative hits. As you were dodging a punch, he kicked you in the side, send you towards the ground as you yelled in pain.

“Y/N!” Powder seemed to scream your name when she saw you get slammed into the brick wall.

Vi immediately turned her head to see what happened, only for Deckard to run his fist across her cheekbone, her teeth cutting into her tongue as she bled from her mouth.

You were down for the count as your eyelids dropped and your head lolled to the side. No one had the opportunity to notice as they were still brawling.

Claggor threw a blond boy across the acre, landing directly in front of Powder. The small girl jumped up and began sprinting down the alleyway with him hot on her trail.

No one having the opportunity to notice, once again.

You winced as something sharp prodded against the side of your neck. You opened your eyes to see Mylo, Claggors and Vi facing you with angry and worried expressions.

Only then did you notice the hand around your wrists preventing your movement. You struggled, wiggling and thrashing, trying to get out of Deckard’s hold. Vi shook her head, meeting your eyes.

‘Cut it out,’ she seemed to say.

The makeshift dagger pressed further into your neck, a thin trail of blood flowing down your neck to your collarbone.

You winced and Vi made a step towards Deckard nodding her head in the direction of the blade.

“You wanna see how that ends?” Her voice was mocking and condescending with a raised brow as she looked the blond directly in the eye. The boy behind you gulped, pushing you into Vi as he turned and ran away with his tail between his legs.

Vi wrapped her arms around you, crouching and lowering you between her knees as her breathing picked up.

“Shit, babe, Y/n, I- I’m so sorry for letting this happen,” she stuttered. The frantic girl quickly unwrapped the bandage on her right hand, securely wrapping it around your neck as she lifted you to your feet.

“Shut the fuck up and let’s go home, yeah?” You gave her a reassuring smile, leaning some of your weight onto her side as her arm was wrapped around your midsection. A small but genuine smile came through her expression as she turned to Mylo and Claggor, who were both watching you closely, wondering what their next move would be.

“Powder knows her way home, we’ll just head there until we hear word,” Violet sighed.

“Of-Fucking-Course.”

“Mylo, just shut up.”

“Got it.”

Violet set you down on the basement couch, sighing for what seemed like the hundredth time today. Her icy blue’s met your gaze, concerned and quilt apparent in her expression.>

“What hurt’s?” She questioned.

“Nothing, don’t worry about it.” You brushed her off as you pushed yourself off the couch, strangling a wince as you sat back down.

“Cut the shit and tell me what’s hurting before I rip your clothes off and figure it out for myself.”

Usually when she spoke like that she had a smirk present on her face, when you saw the absence of such you sighed and shuddered as you gestured to your ribs.

“Alright, let’s go to our room, you have to take your shirt off so I can wrap them.”

“Yes, father.” The girl glared at your play on words as she pulled you to your feet and aided you to the girls’ bedroom.

You hissed as her fingers brushed your ribcage, bringing your shirt over your head with a quiet apology. Vi took the roll of bandages, circling them around your torso, being careful not to pull too tight on the fabric as to not hurt you further.

“Don’t pull that shit again, you hear me?” Her voice shook slightly towards the end of her command.

“Pull what?”

“I could’ve lost you, damnit!” She slammed her fist on the end table, causing you to flinch at the sudden noise. Her face flooded with guint as she grabbed your hand.

“I-I’m sorry, I just-” she sighed. Your other hand covered the one holding yours.

“I can’t lose someone else.”

“You won’t lose me, Vi.”

“But I could, and that scares the shit out of me,” she admitted. Vi crouched down, balancing on the balls of her feet. She pressed her forehead against yours, closing her eyes and breathing you in.

“I didn’t think I’d ever be scared like that again. Not after what happened to my parents.” She shook as she took in a deep breath. You took your hand off hers, her hand squeezing the one she held. You brought your hand to the side of her face, brushing your fingers against her cheek and she laced her digits through yours.

“I didn’t know you cared so much,” your laugh was light as you nudged her forehead with yours. She smiled as she reciprocated the action.

“I’d miss you, babe.”

“I love you, so much.” A tear fell onto your interlaced hands, getting lost between your fingers. “I-I can’t handle the thought of-” you cut her off with your lips brushing against hers, giving her the option to pull away if she wished. Her eyes shot open, time stopping for a moment as she processed the action.

One moment led to another as she let go of your hand, bringing hers to the back of your neck and letting her lips crash against your own, in a sweet but desperate kiss.

You broke away from her, Vi sending you a confused look with her magenta eyebrows furrowing in exasperation. You chuckled, bringing your finger to smooth the lines.

“I love you more. More than you could ever imagine.”

“As if,” she retaliated as she brought you down to her lips once again.
