Work Text:

He’s dead.

Alex made a small whimpering noise as he saw his one true friend, Slime, slowly, slide into the lava below him.

“You should rethink your choices.” Purpled echoes, before walking away from the platform, encasing Quackity in the dark obsidian filled room, where lava bellowed under him.

No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No.No. No. No.No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No.

This can’t be happening.

Slime was dead, Dream was out, and so was Technoblade.

Las Nevadas was going to fall, crumble and now he had absolutely nothing.

Slime was his everything, fuck, he had looked at him like a brother , like a son .

And Purpled had taken that from him. He had taken everything.

Slime was his everything.

He slowly pulled himself from the heated magma floor, netherite glistening in the orange coloured shine.

“Why?” he cried.

The world was far too cruel.

What was even the point of living if the world was going to cruelly rip whatever he had out of his hands and stomp on it, until it’s a mere shattered glass object.

Why?

Revenge was stupid, he had said this before, he had said it to Slime especially.

And Slime had reminded him:

“Was it worth it?”

“No.”

Well this was going to be god damned worth it.

-~-~-

Slime was back.

Kind of?

He was all green, but he hadn’t moved from his hole, he hadn’t spoken, didn’t even look like he was alive.

“Hey Slime..” he said quietly, just as he always did, he had given the Slime a name, Charlie, but he hardly ever looked like he acknowledged it.

He placed the two books he had broughten for Slime in the chest.

There was another book.

“Slime?” he asked.

No answer, no movement.

“Did you write this?” Quackity continued.

No answer, no movement.

He took the book out of the chest and opened it.

It was scribbles.

“Oh my god..” he whispered.. Barely managing actual words.

“I’ll be right back!” Quackity screeched, and sprinted towards Foolish’s home.

…

“Does it say anything?”

“It’s coded for something… one second.” Foolish informs him, placing a hand under his chin.

Quackity paces the room, frantic to get back to Charlie, but he knows this must be difficult, it is a Slime language after all.

“It spells… L… E… G… A… C… Y.” Foolish slowly lets out.

“Legacy.” Quackity finishes.

“Legacy.” Foolish confirms.

Quackity bursts into tears.

-~-~-

Somewhere a Slime breathes the air of his new home, a damp underground swamp, filled with axolotls, frogs, and fireflies.

He takes his setting into mind, (what brain? You’re a slime,)

And he plans.

His future, and his path to power.

Just like Quackity from Las Nevadas taught him.

-~-~-

“Purpled” Quackity greets, and he circles the young bloke, dressed in all purple underneath his dark netherite armour.

“Quackity.” Purpled returns, offering a sheepish grin.

He has no right to be happy.

If Quackity can’t be happy, this man should not be either.

“You killed an innocent man.” Quackity snarls.

“You blew up my UFO, my last memories of home.” Purpled counters, with a small growl.

“If you missed home, you would go back to where you came from. Not like you did much here before.” Quackity says, and Purpled laughs.

“I did, and you destroyed it. That’s why I destroyed what you had, the one thing you were working on taking over after you had finally completed your mission. Let’s be honest, Quackity, Las Nevadas wasn’t your legacy the moment you saw Slime pop up out of the ground.” Purpled chuckles, and Quackity internally winces.

He wasn’t wrong.

“Slime was your legacy, the one thing you wanted to prosper in this life.” Purpled continues, and he’s beginning to near that line where you don’t want to cross-

“And now all you will be greeted with is your downfall.” Purpled smiles.

A pig in a crown and a green sweatered man with a smiling mask approach over the hilltop, and Quackity’s eyes widen.

He didn’t bring any backup.

He needs to make a move quickly

He pulls out his sword and makes a beeline for Purpled.

He puts the sword around his neck.

“If you think that’s going to help you, Quackity, we don’t care if he dies.” Dream cackles.

“Good, I don’t care If I die anymore, as long as he comes with me.” Quackity snarls.

Dream looks taken back, Techno doesn’t seem to care.

“What’d he do to rattle your boots?” Techno chuckles.

“He killed the one thing I fucking cared about, and now, I’m gonna show him my legacy.” Quackity laughs, and Purpled whimpers as he pushes his blade through his back..

He watches the life drain out of the young mercenary, the purple in his eyes slowly turning into a dark shaded grey.

Finally,

Peace.

And then a blade is piercing his stomach.

“Fuck…” he whimpers, and Dream is cowering over him.

“It’s a shame really.” Dream says.

“You were just never really meant to be great. A legacy that could never start up, but a man who always strived for one.” he continues.

He pulls the blade out of Quackity’s abdomen.

“Rest well, the world has been far too cruel to you.” Dream whispers, and he lets his head fall back.

Quackity can see people running up to him now.

Orange? Fundy?

Gold? Foolish?

He wanted Slime. He missed him.

His funny jokes.

“-c’mon, stay awak-'' someone said.

“Please no-” another said.

“QUACKITY” a distinct voice had yelled.

Sapnap? When did he get here?

He wonders if George is asleep, if Karl still has no clue who he is.

He had lived up to his standards, a murderer.

He murdered a young man.

A man he trusted at one point.

It was his fault Slime had died, if he wasn’t so goddamn attached-

The darkness was pulling over him.

“Foolish…” he whispered.

“Quackity? Please stay awake.” Foolish pleaded.

“Las Nevadas, is yours,” he says, he chokes in the middle of it.

“NO, NO please.” Foolish begs.

“I’m going to see Slime now.” Quackity smiles, and he closes his eyes.

A statue is built in his place, commemorating his legacy.

The man who gave it all to be remembered.

-~-~-

A Slime wandered through the streets of Las Nevadas, coated in his brand new netherite armour, recently harvested.

He spotted a golden statue, where the fountain used to be.

He looked at it, memorizing that man in his head.

That was Quackity of Las Nevadas!

He read the words beneath the statue.

Alex Quackity, may your legacy forever be remembered.

You Gave Everything For Others to be Everything.

Thank You.

Slime smiled, a small tear rolling down his face.

“Thank you.”

Footsteps.

A golden man, brandishing a suit, stood behind him.

“Slime?”
