Work Text:
The ocean danced along the shoreline, ever teasing the sand that stood fast against it's lure. Stars gracing the night sky like speckles of light. Calming winds nip at the air, breathing a subtle chill. Ships lay in waste, married to these seas now. These waters knew war and war left its mark in the sea's bed.
The fullness of the moon reflected off of her long, blonde hair. Her eyes gazed upon the ocean, past the wreckage of battles long since gone. Like every night before, she comes to this very spot wearing her wedding dress, white as snow. Waters tip toed around her white heels as she stood there waiting. Waiting, yet ever waiting for her lover's return.
War had taken her lover away to foreign waters, alien shores. War had left her alone on the day of her wedding. Longingly her eyes continued to search, holding back the small floods or her two tiny seas. Her hopes lie with somber words, hope yet betrays. Years have passed but her clocks stand still.
"Come back to me…" she whispered, as the tears finally let free. Her words cast to the wind, falling upon deaf gods. Waiting, she waited, ever longing in vain...
