Chapter Text
Izuku woke up, bouncing on the soles of his feet excitedly. His quirk was going to be revealed today! He had awaited this moment for so long, watching as everyone in his preschool got their quirks, all of them so cool!
Izuku hoped he got a cool quirk as well, maybe even one close to Kacchan’s! He practically bounced down the hall, only remembering to eat his breakfast when his mom, Inko Midoriya, shoved one in front of him and sat him down with a stern look. Izuku mumbled an apology, Inko simply sighing fondly and ruffling his hair. Izuku gave her a smile as bright and blinding as the sun.
After nearly choking several times in his excitement, he bounced down to their car, the wait till they got to the doctor’s agonizingly long. His small notebook in hand, he drew pictures of various quirks he could have, all of them by Kacchan’s side. They were messy, even without the added jumbling of the car.
Finally, they arrived at a small red brick clinic, the doors sliding open for them as Izuku, his excitement not dulled by the wait, bounced through the doors, taking a seat to wait. After a while of vibrating in his seat, the doctor finally called his name. Izuku practically sprinted through the halls, accidentally running too far and looping back to the nameplate that said Dr. Tsukauchi.
As he and his mother entered, sitting, a doctor entered behind them, dressed in a white lab coat. Dr. Tsukauchi had black hair tied up in a bun and teal eyes. She hummed, looking over them and sitting down on a padded chair directly across from the Midoriyas.
“My quirk, Quirk Detector, allows me to tell if a person has a quirk, and tells me a word associated with that quirk if it does. It requires physical contact, so, Izuku, please take my hand. The hyper child enthusiastically does, and a few seconds later she removes her hand in disgust, addressing Inko Midoriya. “Your son has a quirk, and the word I got was,” She visibly hesitates, her mouth set in a grim line as she basically spits out, “Villain.”
The thoughts going through Inko’s head were almost visible as she processed that her son was clearly dangerous. Inko Midoriya’s eyes harden, and she stands, stiffly thanking Dr. Tsukauchi for her time, dragging Izuku by the hand behind her.
When Izuku and Inko arrive back at the house, Inko roughly takes hold of Izuku with her quirk and shoves him into an empty closet. He heard her voice, barely muffled by the thick wood disconnecting him from reality, "Better to have a quirkless son than a villain son," At this, Izuku burst into tears, staining his face and clothes, tasting salt on his lips.
