under the mistletoe

Summary:

Kaminari really wants to kiss Shinsou under the mistletoe at the Christmas party, but he has no idea how to do it.

Notes:

This is basic and I'm sorry, but I had fun.

Work Text:

"Here ya go. One peppermint hot chocolate for you, Kirishima, and one for you, Bakugou. Drink up! They'll get cold soon."

Bakugou glared at Kaminari like he had committed some sort of war crime, then picked up his mug and stirred it with the peppermint stick that Kaminari had stuck in it for the aesthetic. He waited in anticipation as Bakugou took his first sip, then asked, "How is it? Is it delicious?"

"Hmph. Nothing special."

"Be nice, Bakugou," Kirishima scolded as he wiped away some whipped cream that had been left on Bakugou’s upper lip. "I think they're really good, Denks. Thanks a lot!"

"Get your hand away from me!" Bakugou growled, swatting Kirishima away, but Kirishima easily dodged his flailing limbs and swooped in to plant a kiss on the top of Bakugou’s head.

"You're welcome, sweetheart. I just thought you might not want to walk around with whipped cream on your face, my love." Kirishima grinned and Bakugou grumbled and flopped down onto the couch, his arms crossed over his chest and his lower lip poked out in a very prominent pout.

Kaminari laughed as he took the spot next to him. Kirishima always used gross pet names excessively to get under Bakugou’s skin, and it worked every single time. He wasn't sure how his friend was even still alive, to be honest. He was much braver than Kaminari could ever claim to be.

"Hey boys," Momo said, her words hurried as she ran past them carrying a couple of empty plates and glasses. "How's the party?"

"Good!" Kirishima and Kaminari answered at the same time.

Momo smiled at them and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. Her face was flushed, and there was a thin sheen of sweat glistening on her skin. "That's great! I wasn't so sure. I'm not used to doing all of this by myself. We have servants at the house, you know, but I wanted to throw a party, and --" She let out a weary breath, her smile growing wider. "I'm just so glad you guys are having a good time."

"Of course! Here, let me help you with those." Kirishima took a few glasses from Momo's arms and followed her to the kitchen, leaving Bakugou and Kaminari in a heavy, lingering silence. Not that it was uncomfortable or anything. Kaminari was used to Bakugou not wanting to talk to him when it was just the two of them, and he wasn't complaining. There was at least a seventy-five percent chance he would end up saying something stupid and get slapped, anyway.

The common area of the dorms was alive with music and dancing. For most of the night, there had been nothing but Christmas music playing, much to Eri's delight as she handed out candies to everyone and learned the words to classics like "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." Now, though, they had set up a karaoke machine, and Mineta was currently singing a heartfelt ballad that he had dedicated to the ladies of class 1-A and 1-B, which no one seemed too thrilled about. Sero had gotten a game of Twister going, and Mina was destroying everyone. There was a gigantic tree in the middle of the room with what looked like hundreds of presents piled up underneath it. Soon, they would be able to open them and find out what they had gotten from their Secret Santas.

All of that was great. Kaminari loved everything about Christmas. But he couldn't stop his eyes from wandering the room until they landed on Shinsou, huddled up in one of the corners with a drink in his hand and his scarf pulled up over the lower half of his face as he chatted with Monoma and Kendo. Or, rather, they kind of chatted at him. He didn't look like he was really contributing to the conversation.

On the other side of the room, there was a mistletoe. Kaminari had seen it as soon as he walked in, and Mineta had jumped up and down pointing to it and claiming he was going to get someone to kiss him tonight. That was doubtful with the way things had been going for him, but Kaminari didn't crush his dreams. Instead, he watched other couples wander over and pretend like they hadn't noticed just so they could have an excuse to kiss one another. Hell, Kirishima had pulled that stunt with Bakugou, and he thought Bakugou was going to implode he was blushing so hard. That was a pretty fun sight.

"Hey, Bakubro," he said, taking a sip of his peppermint hot chocolate. "You think I can get Shinsou to kiss me under the mistletoe?"

Bakugou snorted, and Kaminari looked at his friend just in time to see him roll his eyes. "Are you kidding me, Sparky? Why the hell would he want to kiss you? Why would anyone want to kiss you?"

Kaminari blinked at him and shrugged. "I dunno. Maybe he doesn't. But if you're under the mistletoe, you gotta kiss, right?"

Bakugou’s face scrunched up with disgust. “You’re trying to kiss someone against their will?”

“No! I mean -- I’m sorry! I just thought, you know, those were the rules. You’re under the mistletoe, you kiss. That’s why if you don’t want to kiss someone, you don’t go under the mistletoe.”

“Yeah, but it sounds like you’re trying to lure him over there like some fucking creep --”

Kaminari sighed and buried his face in his hands, shaking his head. “Noooo. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said anything. It was stupid.”

“You’re damn right it’s stupid. Try kissing someone in your league. Like the grape kid.”

Kaminari looked up at him, blinking stupidly like he had been slapped. “That’s literally the meanest thing you’ve ever said to me. And on Christmas, Bakugou. Why?”

Kirishima plopped back down on the couch next to them and threw an arm around Bakugou’s shoulders. There was a slight flush to his cheeks that let Kaminari know that someone had finally spiked the Christmas punch. He was just sad he hadn’t thought about doing it. “Hey, what are we talking about over here?”

Bakugou swirled his hot chocolate around and nestled into Kirishima’s side, trying to look casual about it but failing miserably. “Oh, Dunce Face here was just telling me that he thinks he can land Shinsou tonight under the mistletoe, even if it’s against his will.”

“That is not --” Kaminari glared at him and sighed. “That’s not what I said. I was just going to see if I could get him under the mistletoe with me, and if he doesn’t want to go, then fine, but if we’re under the mistletoe, we have to kiss, right? Like, that’s the holiday rule. You have to do it.”

Kirishima shrugged, tossing one of his legs over Bakugou’s lap. “I don’t know. I mean, you guys text all the time, right? And you’ve hung out a few times? Do you like him?”

Kaminari glanced at Bakugou, who was staring at him far too intently for his liking, then looked down at his hot chocolate. He could feel his heartbeat picking up speed, and it felt like there was electricity crackling through his bones. It did that when he was really nervous. Sometimes he couldn’t control it. “Um...I don’t know. Maybe? I don’t know.”

He looked behind his shoulder at the mistletoe. Awase from 1-B was lingering close to it and peering around the room like he was waiting for someone. So it was taken right now anyway.

“Ugh.” He groaned and flopped over onto Bakugou, who immediately cursed and pushed him off. “Okay, yeah. I like him. But I don’t really know how to say that. Because what if he’s weirded out or thinks it’s gross? What if we stop being friends? He’s so cool! And I’m such a loser.”

Bakugou shrugged. “Can’t argue with that. Like I said, try someone on your level. Anyway --”

“Bakugou!” Kirishima smacked him on the arm, and on instinct, Kaminari scrambled away in case Bakugou decided that he was going to explode. However, the boy only glared at his boyfriend, and they seemed to have some sort of telepathic conversation that Kaminari could not understand and did not want to understand. Whatever it was, though, Kirishima won, and he leaned around Bakugou so that he could meet Kaminari’s eyes. “Look, it’s the holidays, everyone’s a little buzzed. There’s music, everyone’s having a good time. It’s snowing! It’s a perfect time to confess your feelings to someone.”

Bakugou snorted. “There’s no way in hell you can get him to kiss you under the mistletoe. Not even a little bit.”

“And what if I do?”

“Look, if by some miracle you manage to get Shinsou to kiss you, then I’ll do your homework for a month. But it’s not gonna happen.”

“Fine. Shake on it?” Kaminari offered his hand, and Bakugou eyed him warily before accepting it for one brief shake. Kaminari grinned. “Never thought you would be so interested in my romantic life, Bakubro.”

Bakugou rolled his eyes. “Tch. Whatever. I’m always ready to see you fail, Sparky.”

Kaminari finished off his hot chocolate and put the mug on the table in front of him. He was shaking a little bit, but he thought it might have been from excitement. Bakugou’s negativity wasn’t going to stand in his way. It was Christmas, after all. Miracles happened around the holidays all the time.

Still. He might need a couple of glasses of that Christmas punch. Just for good measure.

Kaminari stood with his back pressed against the doorframe and a glass of spiked punch in his hand, his fingers tapping against it nervously. He was a little buzzed, just enough to make his limbs and his nerves a little bit looser. The mistletoe dangled above his head, taunting him as he looked around the room at all of the people having a great time and otherwise ignoring his existence. Hatsume had somehow dragged Iida underneath the mistletoe and kissed him so fiercely he was still blushing and stammering as he walked around setting rules for people who were not listening to him. They had not seemed to notice that Kaminari was standing there the whole time.

He finished off his punch, debating if he needed a third cup so that his brain would stop going into overdrive and plotting out the inevitable fallout of his plan, then decided against it. The punch wasn't going to save him. And besides, he didn't want to leave his spot. Anything could happen at any second. He just had to be patient.

Shinsou, however, seemed farther away now. He was still stuck with Monoma, who had started up a game of poker with a few of his classmates. Eri was leaning over Shinsou’s shoulder, staring at his cards and looking completely confused, which Kaminari could understand. He had never picked up on poker either.

"Ew, what are you doing?"

His gaze snapped back to meet Jirou's. She stood in front of him, hands on her hips and eyes narrowed in a very judgmental glare. He chuckled nervously and ruffled his hair. "Nothing. I was just--"

"Waiting for someone to kiss you? That's a new low, even for you. That's like Mineta level of desperate."

"I am not waiting on someone to kiss me. I mean, I am, but a specific person, and--"

"Who?" Jirou asked, suddenly very interested as she closed the gap between them, lowering her voice to a whisper so that no one could listen in. "Who is it? Is it Mina? You guys hang out a lot, right?"

Kaminari shook his head. "I mean, yeah, we hang out a lot because she's Kirishima's friend, but we don't really hang out just the two of us, you know?"

"Then who is it? Tell me. Oh god, it's not me--"

"No!" Kaminari exclaimed, to which Jirou responded with a leveled glare, and he laughed again. "Uh...sorry. Didn't mean to sound so offended by that. It's just...well, I don't really know how to get someone to kiss you, you know? I mean, the mistletoe is a good way to do it, right?"

Jirou shrugged. "How should I know? I've been trying to kiss Momo all night, but she's been running all over the place and hasn't stopped. She's out of control."

"Momo? Really?"

Jirou nodded, biting her bottom lip. "Yep. I like Momo. There, I told you. Now it's your turn."

Kaminari glanced behind her just to make sure that no one was listening to them. He wasn't sure why they would be, but still. "Fine. It's Shinsou. I just really want him to kiss me, and I thought this would be a good excuse for him to do it, but I don't think it's gonna happen."

Jirou's eyes brightened as she smiled. "You and Shinsou? That's so sweet. I never would have thought about you guys being together, but...you know what? It makes sense. You're eccentric, he's chill. I think you would be a good balance for each other."

"Thanks. I really like him. A lot. But I don't know if he likes me. I want him to kiss me, but also Bakugou agreed to do my homework for a month if I could pull this off, so…"

Jirou rolled her eyes. "You're an idiot."

"I know that!" Kaminari whined. "So you have to help me! Please?"

"And how am I supposed to do that?"

"I don't know! Anything! Please, Jirou, I'm desperate!"

"Whoa, you guys gonna kiss?" Jirou whipped around quickly to stare at the small purple boy that had interrupted their conversation. His eyes were so wide that they looked like they would pop right out of his head.

"No, no," Kaminari tried to say, shaking his head rapidly, but Mineta did not seem interested in listening as he pointed up at the mistletoe and then gestured to the two of them.

"You're under the mistletoe, so you gotta kiss!" Mineta winked at Kaminari and gave him a thumbs-up. "Don't worry, I've got you!"

Kaminari sighed in frustration. "Mineta, you know I would usually be grateful for the effort, but --"

"You know what? Fine. I'll blow the little grape's mind." Jirou leaned in and planted a brief kiss on Kaminari's cheek, then wiped her mouth immediately after as Mineta's jaw dropped.

"Oh. My. God. Kaminari, a girl just kissed you on the cheek--!"

"I don't have time for this." Maybe a few months ago before Kaminari had met Shinsou, he would have been freaking out getting a kiss from Jirou, but that little crush had faded almost as soon as he had become friends with Shinsou. In fact, he was so caught up in his feelings for him that he hadn't even been participating in any of Mineta's creepy schemes that he would have gladly joined in on before. Hell, he could admit he had been a creep. He liked to think that he was growing up now. "There is a very specific person in this room that I want to kiss tonight, and if you're not planning on helping me, then please go somewhere else."

"Ooh, who is it? Is it Mina?" Mineta asked.

"No, why does everyone think that? Look." Kaminari stooped so that he was at Mineta's level. "It's Shinsou. Please don't say anything or make a--"

"SHINSOU?!"

Kaminari squeezed his eyes shut and ducked down close to the ground, trying to make himself look as small as possible. He didn't have to look up to know that people were staring at them. Fucking Mineta. He didn't know why he was even friends with him.

"You idiot," Jirou hissed through gritted teeth, smacking Mineta. "Now he's looking. He knows we're talking about him."

"Oh my god," Kaminari moaned, shaking his head. "I need another drink."

"Shit, he's coming over here," Jirou said. "We need to disappear. Kaminari, get up. You look stupid." She grabbed his arm, dragging him to his feet, and he stumbled into her, his head reeling and all of his thoughts blaring like a siren. Jirou placed both hands on his arms and squeezed him encouragingly. "I love you. Good luck. You'll have to let me know how it goes." She kissed him on the cheek again, and in a flash, she grabbed Mineta by the ear and dragged him across the room just in time to leave Kaminari and his wildly incoherent thoughts alone with Shinsou.

"What was that all about?" Shinsou asked, pointing to the small boy who was waving his arms and trying to escape Jirou's wrath. "Why did he say my name?"

"Because he's--" Kaminari tapped his fingers against his empty cup, panic settling in his gut as his mind went completely blank. All he could hear was screaming and elevator music playing inside of his brain. God, Shinsou was really pretty. He couldn't stop staring at his eyes. And obviously he had been drinking a little bit too, because his skin was flushed a pretty pink, and Kaminari thought that he would probably be warm too. Not that he would ever get the courage to touch him. "Uh...because he's...got...a crush on you."

Shinsou's eyebrows drew together in confusion. "Mineta's got a crush on me? I mean, I know he just came out, but --"

"Nope. He doesn't have a crush on you. I didn't mean that. Um…" He swallowed, his throat feeling abnormally dry, and yet he had nothing to drink. Forcing a nervous laugh, he took a step back underneath the mistletoe and leaned against the wall. If he didn't, he was afraid his legs would give out. "So how are you? Having fun with Monoma?"

Shinsou smiled a little and shook his head. "I've been trying to escape for a while now. Your friend actually gave me an excuse to come over here. I haven't talked to you today. I feel bad."

"Oh, that's okay. You're talking to me now, right?"

Shinsou glanced down at Kaminari’s empty cup. "Need another drink?"

"Oh. Yeah, that would be great." He handed his cup to Shinsou and smiled, leaning his head against the wall as he watched Shinsou walk away. He hadn't expected the other boy to come to the party looking so festive, but he had on a bright green Christmas sweater and a Santa hat that he was sure Eri had asked him to wear, as well as his capture scarf, which was pulled up to cover the lower half of his face. He couldn't stop himself from staring.

Two days ago, Shinsou had come over to his dorm room to play video games with him, and they had been lying in bed right next to each other with their arms touching and every once in a while shifting around so that their legs and feet brushed against one another. Shinsou had been wearing pajamas and had abandoned his capture scarf for the first time in a long time, and Kaminari remembered that most of his attention had been on the boy sitting next to him and not on the screen in front of them. Every little touch made goosebumps rise along his skin and electricity shoot through his veins, and every casual glance in his direction nearly took his breath away. The compliments he gave his friend almost every day about the way he looked really didn't do him any justice. Shinsou was beautiful. He wouldn't be able to tear his eyes away from him even if he tried. So he watched, heart pounding against his ribs with excitement until Shinsou returned with his drink, and he accepted it with a smile, not missing how their fingers brushed for a brief moment before Shinsou drew away from him.

"Thanks," he said. "I was really thirsty."

"Not really sure you should be drinking alcohol then. You need some water?"

Kaminari shook his head, downing half of the spiked punch in his cup. The warmth of it flooded through his body quickly, and he sincerely hoped that the alcohol would give him enough courage to say something of substance soon. He couldn't handle the small talk much longer.

Shinsou took a sip from his cup and flicked his gaze up to the mistletoe dangling above their heads, then rolled his eyes. "Mistletoe. Monoma dragged me over here earlier tonight and kept dropping all these hints that he wanted me to kiss him."

Kaminari felt his stomach twist in knots as he choked on his drink. Of course, he should have known that he would have competition; Shinsou was attractive and mysterious, and anyone would be lucky to have him. But Monoma?

"Oh," he choked out. "D-did you?"

Shinsou's nose wrinkled with disgust. "Are you serious? You couldn't pay me enough to kiss him. Besides, the mistletoe thing is really cheesy. I'm not interested."

"Gross, me neither," Kaminari said, laughing nervously as he took a step backward. This was spiraling really fast. He wasn't sure how he was supposed to make this work now. "Um...but you've been having a good night besides that?"

Shinsou shrugged. "Christmas isn't really my thing. Plus, I'm really tired. I'd be okay just staying in and watching a movie or something."

"We can do that! I mean, if you wanna go up to my room…" Kaminari gulped, his mouth feeling very suddenly dry. Maybe that was too suggestive. But it was already out, and this heavy silence was hanging between them now. He could hear the sounds of laughter all around him, accompanied by the sound of Mina and Kirishima singing "All I Want for Christmas is You." They had been practicing for weeks leading up to this party. He couldn't help but feel like they had specifically chosen this moment to perform their duet. "Uh...we don't have to though! We can stay here."

Shinsou yawned and rubbed at his eyes. He had bags underneath them, suggesting he hadn't slept well the night before. Or maybe for the whole week. Sometimes Kaminari woke up in the middle of the night to texts from Shinsou when he couldn't sleep, and he stayed up talking to him until he did. "Doesn't really matter, I guess. I just wanted to spend some time with you."

Kaminari felt like his heart had shot into his throat. He could feel the pulse deep in his bones, the sound of it flooding his eardrums as his brain crashed like an old dial-up computer, making god awful beeping noises as he tried to process whatever had just happened. Shinsou wanted to spend time with him? He'd always kind of considered their friendship as one of charity, because Shinsou was way too cool and way too attractive for him, but here he was, actually admitting to wanting to be around him. That alone gave him more courage than any of the alcohol ever could.

"Me too," he said. "I mean, I wanted to spend time with you. You should spend holidays with people you love. I mean -- people you like. Not like like like, you know, but I mean…" Oh god he was a disaster. He had to backtrack somehow, but Shinsou was staring at him like he had just grown an extra head, and his mouth was still moving, but he wasn't even listening to whatever the hell was coming out of it. He was an idiot. "I don't like you! I mean, I do, but --"

"Kaminari." Shinsou reached out and brushed his fingers over Kaminari’s cheek, which made his brain completely short-circuit, and he couldn't do anything but stand there on shaking legs and stare, wide-eyed and stupid. His skin felt freakishly hot, and he very much wanted to strip off his sweater because it had to be a million degrees in here. "Slow down. Take a breath. You seem really nervous." Shinsou took a couple of steps forward, closing the gap between the two of them so that Kaminari could very easily just tilt his head up and kiss him if he wanted to. And of course he wanted to, but he wouldn't because he was a damn coward. The mistletoe was a few feet away, but it felt like it was a few miles.

He was ruining everything. There was no way he was getting his Christmas kiss. "I am nervous. I'm sorry," he said, smiling a little as he ran a hand through his hair. "I'm not usually like this. You know that. It's just --" He paused. This was the moment. If he was going to say anything, it needed to be now. But what did he even need to say? What could he say that didn't make him sound like an idiot? His heart was thundering so loudly it drowned out the music around him. All he could focus on was Shinsou's kind, purple eyes, how he seemed to only be paying attention to him, and the way his scarf had slipped down to reveal this little lopsided smile that Kaminari found absolutely adorable. God, if he had any sort of sense --

"You're blushing."

"I--" Kaminari touched a hand to his cheek, and yeah, it was scorching hot. He would hate to see how red he must look right now. God, he'd never been this nervous in his life, not even in his entrance exams. This was something entirely new.

Shinsou leaned his shoulder against the wall, his head tilted as his eyes grazed over Kaminari's face. "It's cute," he said.

Kaminari choked on his drink, spitting it back into the cup and trying to cover up his obvious idiocy with a cough, which really only made Shinsou laugh. But that was fine, because he liked the rare occasions when he could make Shinsou laugh like that. He smiled at him, and suddenly he felt very bold as he reached out and took Shinsou's hand, intertwining their fingers and just holding it in between them. Shinsou didn't pull away or question him like he had expected, which was a huge shock. His gaze flickered down to Shinsou’s lips for just a second as they stood there silently holding hands, but it was enough for Shinsou to notice, and Kaminari felt him tense just slightly, though he still didn't move away.

"I'm sorry," Kaminari found himself saying. "I saw the mistletoe when I got here tonight, and I really wanted to kiss you underneath it. And that's why Mineta was yelling, because I told him that and he freaked out, and then I tried to hide, and --"

"You wanted to kiss me under the mistletoe?"

Kaminari scanned his face, trying to figure out if he was mad or disgusted or weirded out, but Shinsou was a hard person to read anyway, so he wasn't quite sure what he was looking at. He took a deep breath and nodded. "Yeah. And I know you said that you're not interested, and hell, you probably don't even like guys, least of all me, so I'm really sorry. I had all these gross pickup lines that I had been thinking up all night and I was going to use them, but then I freaked out, and you're just so --"

"Pickup lines?" Shinsou raised an eyebrow at him, the corner of his mouth curling into a smile. "Okay, now I have to hear one."

"Oh god, no. I shouldn't have said anything. It's embarrassing. But --"

"Come on. I wanna hear one! Give me your best pickup line and let me decide if we're going to kiss under the mistletoe."

Kaminari blinked, his mouth opening and closing for a moment as he tried to make himself speak, but now he had no words, and he couldn't even remember anything he had thought up before all of this. Shinsou stood there still holding his hand, patiently waiting, and he found himself wondering if this was all some sort of joke or if Shinsou actually liked him too. It wouldn't make sense for him to like him. He was way too amazing for that.

But wouldn't it be wonderful if he actually did?

"Uh...okay. So this is super lame, and I know it sounds stupid, but I thought that you would think it was charming because it's stupid, so…" He cleared his throat, shuffling his feet nervously, then met Shinsou's gaze and tried very, very hard to keep a straight face as he said, "The Grinch might have stolen Christmas, but you stole my heart."

Shinsou groaned and rolled his eyes. "Ugh, so cheesy. What am I supposed to do with that?"

"I don't know! Maybe uh, kiss me under the mistletoe so I'll shut up?"

Shinsou shrugged. "That sounds like a good plan."

Kaminari's heart skipped a beat as Shinsou pulled him back toward the mistletoe, and the way his legs wobbled made him stumble and crash right into Shinsou, but that was okay because Shinsou's hands wrapped around his waist, holding him up. The room was very hot all of a sudden, and everything was swirling, and the whole world felt like it was a distant memory as his eyes met Shinsou's.

He moved without even thinking, drawing closer to Shinsou until their lips were only an inch apart, and he could feel Shinsou's breath beating against his skin, warm and comforting, but he couldn't bring himself to close the gap, to take that final step that he had been waiting for weeks to take. But Shinsou was much bolder than him. He hooked his finger under Kaminari's choker and pulled him in, and their lips met in a sort of sloppy, clumsy, fumbling way that would have been humiliating if Kaminari was thinking about it, but the only thing he cared about was that Shinsou was kissing him, and it was good. He tasted like peppermint schnapps and chocolate, and the whole thing was just making him feel dizzy and weak, and he had to wrap his arms around Shinsou's neck to keep himself from toppling over because he was breathless and panicking, but it was the most amazing thing that he had ever experienced in his life, and he thought that if he never got to kiss anyone else in his life, that would be okay, because he didn't think that anyone else would compare to this.

He wasn't sure how long it lasted, only knew that Shinsou's hands were on his waist, and he was warm and solid against him, and even if Kaminari had absolutely no clue what he was doing, Shinsou did, and he guided him perfectly, as if they had been doing this all along, like they'd done it a thousand times before.

When Shinsou finally pulled away from him, there was little else he could do besides rest his forehead against Shinsou's chest and take deep breaths in, because he felt like there wasn't enough air in the room to make his swirling mind come back down to earth. "Wow," he said, and he knew he must have sounded stupid, but there was nothing else to say because wow Shinsou was an amazing kisser, and he could probably stand here and kiss him all night and wouldn't grow tired of it.

"Uh-huh." Shinsou sounded just as breathless, just as awestruck, which was insane because Kaminari did not even do anything, but he could hear Shinsou's heart beating ridiculously hard in his chest, and Shinsou's arms only curled around him tighter, pulling him close. It was too good to be true, and yet…

"This was all I wished for for Christmas," Kaminari said. "Well, this and a lightsaber, but Mom already got me that."

Shinsou scoffed and pressed a kiss to the top of his head. "You're ridiculous. But in a good way. I guess that's why I like you so much."

Kaminari hummed contentedly and looked up to meet Shinsou's gaze. "Hey, can I kiss you again?"

Shinsou nodded. "Please."

And he did.
