“Huh?” Jayce’s brows shoot upward. “Say what?”
Viktor offers him an unimpressed look. “I can tell there’s something you want to tell me. Better to get it out now than let it fester in your mind.”
“Oh.” Jayce blinks twice but makes no effort to deny anything. Viktor almost feels smug for being right. Almost. Because that moment of confidence sinks once he hears Jayce’s following words.
“I’m going to ask Professor Medarda out tomorrow.”
A pause. A hold of breath. And Viktor looks away.
“...I see.”
