Horse('s) Hair

Summary:

In which Ched discovers there are ways that Horse can be enjoyable.

Notes:

When Ched said he ate Horse's hair I swear I busted a lung so now you get half a page's worth of that. I've never written this much about hair and I'm not sure if it'll ever happen again. Anywho... enjoy!

Work Text:

Ched did NOT like Horse.

She was smelly, ugly, long-faced, and most importantly… a horse. Centaurs   were bad enough being half-horses , so an entire horse was bound to be no good. And he was right, of course he was, because Horse was evil. If it was in an annoyingly, increasingly endearing way then you’d have to ask Wammawink or Glendale or Derpington or Zulius or any of the other (lets face it) wrong individuals.

By the way he did NOT cry when Horse was gone those two times OR apologize for any wrongdoings against her OR appreciate Horse’s backstory magic abilities even if they made him feel better and-

Though speaking of the not-wrongdoings against Horse, there was one that he’d really tried to stop, honestly. He’d held out a whole two days once, but in the end he just couldn’t stop. Horse’s delicious, wonderful, addicting hair. While the same couldn’t be said about her personality, Ched just couldn’t resist.

He remembered the first time eating her hair was meant to be malicious, biting down on Horse was going to be funny. But he chomped down with his beak and it was like heaven descended down and blessed this horse hair. With something so wondrous, it would be cruel to just… not eat it. So eat it, he did. For a whole year. Did it give Horse a bit of balding? Yes. But was it worth it? Also yes. Besides, he apologized to her later when she backstoried herself into the Nowhere King’s Brain so technically it was alright. Plus he told her how delicious it was later and he even got back at her for that kiss on the head. Revolting on his end, but she had been smiling through it and didn’t even kick him off her head.

So sure, Horse kinda sucked and she was probably going to be the worst of the shamans, but man , was her hair delicious.

(And if he was on her back and took a nibble or two while she turned her head away, that was between them.)
