Summary
A Regency AU about first loves, honor lost and restored, and finding your way back to each other against the odds. Or: the young Duke Sugawara and Earl Sawamura are each other’s first friends, and first loves, and the world is on their side. Happily ever after seems close at hand when Daichi confesses to Koushi on his 19th birthday, the future warm and big and bright. That is until a sudden and unexplained political scandal rocks the houses of Sawamura and Azumane, forcing them brutally out of court and Koushi’s life—perhaps forever. Or so he thinks until years later, when Daichi moves into the small hamlet nearby as apprentice to the local blacksmith. Koushi is determined not to lose him again—Daichi is determined not to stand in the way of decorum and propriety, no matter what his heart keeps telling him.
