The freckles that I counted

Summary:

Drabble / Poetic.
Bakugou Katsuki is a difficult person to defeat, but he does have a weakness. One that he would never admit out loud. One that knocks down his defenses and turns his life upside down. A weakness, silly and that nobody would believe.

Notes:

I just want to say one thing. The English it's not my first lenguage sorry for the mistakes. But this drabble it's sooooooo cute and fluff. And I wanna to try translate my work.
But it's so difficult, I love the metaphors, and I want to cry when my words don't understand and they so turn confused. Hahaha sorry and thank u if u decided reading me.

Work Text:

Katsuki is a haughty person, rude, proud as anyone, arrogant and incredibly strong. People believe that no one could overcome his defenses. He has impenetrable steel armor. Also that in Katsuki's vocabulary there is no fear word, much less giving up and backing down.

But things are not so.

He does have a vanishing point, a crack in his barriers. There is a spear that pierced the knight's armor. Fear, more than a word, is a feeling evident in his body. He surrenders every day to a brilliant image and recoils from that dazzling being.

Yes, he has a weakness, latent, one with a first and last name. One who walks through school giving beautiful smiles, words of encouragement that sincerely blow your mind and comfort you to hell. One with dreamy green eyes, a melodious laugh and a singing voice. One who has full lips like cotton candy, plump cheeks that turn pink when they look at him and that he wants to try. Freckled cheeks.

Freckles, lots of freckles.

Freckles that steal him sleep, that take away him peace of mind, that make him sigh. He was sick of freckles. Freckles that are sometimes adorned with sweat. Some others, of tears and that Katsuki feels the need to dry with kisses. Freckles he can't get out of his head.

Bakugou, he sees freckles when sleeping, when he wakes up, when he closes his eyes and also in the sky. Bakugou sees Izuku's freckles in the stars, in the grains of sand, in the balls of the Nesquik cereal. He thinks they are sweet like the chocolate chips in cookies, that they are annoying like the seeds of strawberries.

Fuck, this was a bullshit.

This was a fucking secret that he would live with all his life. That he would lock up and rejoice in it in the shadows. In the dark, where the freckles illuminate him. Yes, alone, where only he can contemplate them, where only he can possess them. Because the Izuku's freckles belong to him, because he discovered the wonder in them first

Because he is the faithful guardian. One who is dedicated to guarding them, taking care of them, and counting them every night. That he keeps a list of the new and the oldest. He names the constellations in ways that he would not dare to say out loud. He is responsible for filling them with kisses and causing smiles.

Because Bakugou could spend whole nights hugging the owner of his freckles. Because he is just a servant of the star king. One who shows devotion to oblivion, one who is terribly in love.

Truth be told, Katsuki doesn't just count Izuku Midoriya's freckles. You also tell him the eyelashes, and the laughs. He knows exactly how many lines there are on his palms, as well as his scars. Because for him it is a love letter in braille and Katsuki was a fucking blind man who is dazzled.

He encloses Izuku, and his arms and buries his nose in Midoriya's hair; she breathes in her scent and gets drunk on him. They are lying down, Izuku turning his back to Katsuki, but he does not leave space, he clings, encloses him in his claws. He squeezes him hard, not because he fears he will go away, because feeling it is his downfall.

Midoriya's soft laugh reaches his ears, and his heart warms. His chest swells up, and he's already preparing his will, because he feels that he could die right there from a heart attack.

"Kacchaaaan ... He won't let me breathe," he says between light laughs, turning his body to face him.

"Bastard, Deku, stay that way, stupid asshole."

Izuku puts his calloused hand on Katsuki's face, in an ungenuine attempt to push him away from him. Bakugou strengthens his grip on him, begins to put small kisses on his shoulder, he knows that this is Midoriya's weakness. And this, he lets out a laugh that fills up the corners of the room.

Katsuki frowns, but smiles a little, because he's blissful. Happier than anyone. He doesn't let Izuku turn around because he's vulnerable and has no escape. A power struggle begins, one where the sheets are left over and the red intentions don't count. A child's game, one that they deprived for a long time, one in which Midoriya rules and Katsuki kneels.

A game of lovers.

This time they look into each other's eyes, without saying a word, in a comfortable silence. Your pupils dilate, your heart races, and your breathing stops. The neurons atrophy and the eyes dance, scanning every detail of her face. Taking a mental snapshot to hang on the wall of her favorite memories.

They smile, and it overwhelms them. Because they know they are the whole world of it. The blow of emotions that throws them and humiliates them, rolls them in the mud and they are happy. Because they don't need words, because insults are out of the game, and disagreements no longer exist. Because they both revere each other and revere what  feel like a monster.

Because words are not necessary, they understand. There aren't certainties of tomorrow, because the war is outside, and maybe it will eat them. That may just be a fleeting moment, but a lasting one.

But Katsuki is sure of something.

He could count those freckles a lifetime
