Work Text:

It was dark….

An endless black room….

I feel like I have been walking forever.

There are times when I fall into patches of water... Others I hear a child's laughter, but every time I try to get to it, it just disappears right in front of me.

Who was I again? I remember a ring, a little zombie pigman, and a tiny spider with a raccoon. But not their names like how I don't know mine.

How long has it been since I've seen them? A couple of months? A year? I'm so tired, but my feet seem to find the energy to keep walking. I don't understand why. I just want to go home, even if I don't know where home is.

"You said the book wants us to go this way?"

A soft voice rang through the darkness as I continued my treacherous walk.

"Yes."

Another voice answered.

"But why in my domain? Plus, it's dangerous for us to be in Limbo. Time runs a lot differently here than it does in our world,"

The first voice argued.

I tried to call out to them, but my mouth felt like it had been sewn shut with thread.

"I know. But this is the only way we're going to get answers,"

The second assured as a small orange flame appeared in the distance.

Probably my imagination again, like the child's laughter. Oh well…they will likely disappear as well.

"But in someone's limbo! We don't know what we'll come across here! Especially one that just appeared only a few weeks ago!"

The first voice yelled.

I flinched a bit at their tone but continued my walk towards the growing flame.

"Okay and!"

The second exclaimed with frustration in their voice.

"It's dangerous! Plus, I don't want to go through another reincarnation cycle,"

The first voice mumbled.

I sighed as I listened to their conversation, not realizing the pool of water in front of me. Which I promptly fell into caused me to let an enderman like screech. And it was so deep that I couldn't even feel the bottom.

Everything felt like it was on fire! The water burned through my clothes, onto my skin, going straight down to my bone. It was causing me pure agony to ever-growing scars on my body.

Please, someone, help!!

Please

Please

Please!!

Tubbo

Micheal !

Anyone!

It hurts!

I was sinking deeper and deeper into my burning prison, slowly choking on the water filling my scarred lungs.

Please!

Just let it end….

And as if the goddess of death heard him, two pairs of hands grabbed at his wrists and dragged help out of my watery prison.

"What the hell-!"

"Holy shit, they're just a kid! Why is there a kid in limbo!"

"I don't-!"

After that, I promptly fell unconscious because of the searing pain through my burned body.

Everything felt better when I woke up. There wasn't the constant burn in my legs from where I was walking, and my body didn't burn. Just soreness that will fade within time.

"Oh good, you're awake,"

The voice I heard from my limbo said.

I heard their footsteps get closer to the bed I was laying on, and a woman with short black hair and piercing red eyes appeared in my vision.

"Good to see you awake kid, you scare us there for a bit,"

The woman sighed in relief.

"Where am I..?"

I whispered, my throat still sore.

"You're currently in the hospital wing of the Harmony Tree, but my question here, kid, is why you were in limbo? Especially in the domain that control, and I haven't seen you come through,"

The woman explained, ruffling my tender hair.

"I think I died? But I don't know why or how. I-.. I just want to go home…,"

I replied, staring up at the white ceiling.

"Well…welcome back to the land of the living, kid. And don't worry, once you are healed, we'll figure out where you came from and get you home,"

As she pulled her hand away from my forehead, the woman grabbed a nearby chair and sat down.

"Thank you...may I ask what your name is?"

I whispered sleepily, fighting the will to sleep.

"You can call me Garnet. What is your name?"

The newly named Garnet asked.

My name? What was my name again? Oh!

"Ranboo..."

After saying that sweet taste of sleep took over, and everything went black.

Notes:

This story was supposed to write a couple of months ago, but since the new lore it gave me an idea for it so..my take on Ranboo's limbo?

I feel like his limbo will be constantly walking through a dark abyss while hearing his child laugh from the distance but it will disappear as soon as gets closed to it. And then fall into holes of water and is forced to go through the pain of being constantly burned.

But this is my own interpretation of it. Anyways have a wonderful day/night!
