Summary
After a series of unfortunate circumstances, Xie Lian finds himself to be rather content in his role of a social outcast, working odd hours in Jun Wu’s research lab and not having the energy or desire to entertain doing much else. In his scarce moments of leisure time, Xie Lian rediscovers his passion for an old game he used to play: the MMORPG Heavenly Official Online. Within the game, Xie Lian finds himself quickly enamored by the eccentric guild master XueYu TanHua, who breathes a surprisingly welcomed spark of life back into his life.
However, for better and for worse, the ghosts of Xie Lian’s past begin to catch up with him—both offline and online—throttling his attempt to escape from everything he ardently desired to forever disconnect from.
