Nekomaru placed Chiaki in her bed and Mahiru tucked her in while Sonia made sure her pillow was fluffy.
“Are you comfortable?” Sonia asked.
“It still hurts to move a bit,” Chiaki responded. “But Tsumuki’s work really patched me up.”
“I’m just glad I didn't hurt you more when I did since I was still under Enoshima’s control when I patched you up.” Mikan timidly said.
Chiaki said, “You all should go rest now too. Your minds have gone through emotional and mental stress. I would like to talk to Hajime privately.”
“I will make sure she stays safe,” Hajime replied.
Sonia spoke up. “As much as I trust you would keep her safe I’m afraid I can’t comply with Nanami’s wishes this time.”
Chiaki tilted her head towards Sonia. “How come.”
Sonia laid down on the bed with Chiaki. “After these past few days, I’m scared of letting you out of my sight.” She put her arm over Chiaki, “So all of us will stay with you tonight.”
“I call the other side of the bed,” Hiyoko shouted as she laid down on the other side of Chiaki.
“Well, I guess we haven’t had a slumber party in a while,” Chiaki responded.
“Pekoyama and I will stand guard.” Fuyuhiko proclaimed.
“Ibuki will order some food,” Ibuki yelled.
The class had some fun and tho Chiaki still couldn't do much in her condition she felt happy just being there with everyone.
Soon everyone but Hajime was asleep.
…She looks cute while she sleeps… Hajime thought with a smile as he watched her chest rise and fall under the blankets.
“…Ha…Hajime…”
“Chiaki?” Hajime breathed in a slight panic but calmed down as he saw that her eyes were still closed and her breathing was still regular. Oh, she’s just talking in her sleep. I wonder what she’s dreaming about…
“…Hajime…I…I love you…”
Hajime blushed as his eyes widened in shock at Chiaki’s unconscious confession.
Chiaki…you…you really mean that…? The boy’s lips tugged into a soft smile as he whispered under his breath “…I love you too…”
Sonia who was still cuddling with Chiaki mumbled, “Oh we need to plan a Hinata and Nanami wedding it will be tight.”
Chiaki’s lips tugged into a wider smile, as though she heard him. Feeling his guilt and sorrow melt into joy, Hajime rested his head on his forearms as they rested on the side of Chiaki’s bed, keeping a constant vigil on the Ultimate Gamer who he adored.
Rest, Chiaki…we can talk properly about…us…once this is all over. But rest, for now, Chiaki, recover your strength…so I know there will be a future with you in it.
