Work Text:
“We should date,” Denki states, looking so proud of himself it was almost laughable. Almost.
“No.” The darker blonde replies, rolling his eyes. “Where the fuck did you get that idea?”
“Aw c’mon man! Just yesterday you lent me your sweatshirt and said, and I quote, ‘that doesn't look awful on you Kaminari’. You almost made my heart burst!” Denki began to move his hands around, gesturing to the sweatshirt he was still wearing from yesterday, “See! I even have your sweatshirt on still! It’s starting to smell like me!”
Katsuki faintly found his ears burning, but ignored it, rolling his eyes again, “It's gonna smell like shit. Wash it before giving it back and may I add I called you ‘idiot dunce’, not whatever else you just said.” Katsuki waved his hand in dismissal, frowning deeply. Denki pouted, before smiling again when he realized Katsuki said he could keep the sweatshirt longer.
This was a regular occurrence and as much as Katsuki denied such a thing (one time even blowing up a vase of flowers because someone suggested how close the two had gotten) Denki and Katsuki were indeed flirting, in their own strange way. And yeah maybe they weren't dating but Katsuki has a letter from Denki taped to his wall and even little doodles they pass back and forth in class. Katsuki bought a box to put under his desk that's filled with sensory toys and a whole ass slime collection because Denki mentioned, once, only once, that he focused better when he had slime. And yeah Katsuki definitely bullied the shit out of him for it, but slime did magically appear by Denki's homework every time they studied.
And Denki kept an extra case to put Katsuki’s hearing aids in when he slept over, and Denki once did Katsuki’s eyeliner for him before they went skateboarding, and yes he took multiple pictures to hang on his wall. And sometimes during class, you can catch the electric blonde staring as Katsuki does his work. And you will always see them together. Always.
But no they were not dating. Not one bit. They were just friends who flirted and hung on each other and stared at each other in class. Just friends.
And 1-A is absolutely fed up with this just friends relationship.
Monday comes around and they are ready for battle. Ashido is the first to strike,
“Hey, Bakugou! Are you planning on hanging out with Kami later? What do you guys even do all day in your guys' dorms?” She wiggled her eyebrows suggestively, so much so Denki almost spits out his water.
“Yeah, I was wondering too,” Sero laughs. “What do you guys do?”
Katsuki can feel the heat radiating off of Denki even though he’s a couple of seats away, “W-we play video games and sleeps!” Katsuki mentally checkmarks all four of Denki’s voice cracks and saves it in his brain for later.
“Sleep…in the same bed? Why can’t Katsuki just go to his dorm to sleep or vice versa?” Sero asks with a humorous tilt to their voice. Denki sputters again, but can't seem to answer. Katsuki saves the day,
“Because I fucking want to. My room gets boring, so many goddamn questions, care to ask more or can you shut the ever-living fuck up and listen to the lessons?”
Sero whistles, turning around, as does Ashido, “Someones mad…”
Class starts and there are no more questions, well until they get to the dorms.
Katsuki is cooking something before he and Denki make their merry little ways up the stairs to listen to music and put new patches on their jeans. Katsuki had taught Denki how to do it a couple of weeks ago after Denki mentioned something about liking the punk style. Katsuki had laughed and ripped his pants out of his dresser to show off and Denki’s eyes practically lit up, which led to the sewing and painting every once and while.
“Hey, Kacchan!” Deku sits down on the counter, smiling brightly, “Making food for the class?”
Katsuki scoffs, “Hell fucking no, Deku. I’m making food for me and Dunce. Obviously. Do I look like your guy's shitty chef?”
“O-oh? Kaminari? That makes sense.” Deku puts a finger to his cheek, in thought. Katsuki watches from the corner of his eye, growing irritated. “The fuck you mean that ‘makes sense?”
“Oh it’s just if you were to make food for someone it'd make sense for you to make food for Kaminari or maybe Kirishima, you know? Kaminari is always asking you to make food, and you always do, which is quite scarily nice of you haha…but then again you made food for the class all the time? Not so much anymore, normally just Kaminari and sometimes Kirishima. You know I expected you to be more close with Kirishima, and yes you guys are close, but its more a best friend close and not a-”
“Shut up, Jesus fucking Christ!” Katsuki has that burning sensation on his ears again as Deku slams his jaw shut, eyes wide but before anyone can say anything, Kaminari is in the kitchen, grinning wide,
“Hey, Mido! Sup with you?”
Deku looks between Katsuki and Denki frantically, “Nothing! I-i have a date so I’ll uhm see you guys later?” and then he scurries off, red-faced.
Denki looks at Katsuki, a deep frown and his brows so furrowed they almost go into his eyes. “Mido’s dating someone? I wonder who it is? Uruaka maybe?”
Katsuki snorts, the heat on his ears finally gone, “Who fucking knows. Like anyone would want to date him. Have to deal with his mumbling all the fucking time.”
Denki smiles, “I don't know, man. I think a lot of people would date Midoriya. One time me and Kirishima were talking and he kept going on and on about how cute he is. Oh my god! Maybe it's Kirishima?!”
“If it is, I’ll pull that fuckers shitty hair out of his scalp.” Katsuki snarls and Denki laughs, sitting on the counter where Deku was. “You're in a mood, babe. Wanna talk about it?”
“Like I keep fucking tellin-”
“Babe?!” And of course another fucker is joining them in the kitchen, eyes wider than Deku’s were, and mouth sputtering. It was Uruaka this time (so she's definitely not Deku’s mystery date) and Katsuki had to use everything in his willpower not to punt the girl into the fucking sky as he grabs the tray with their food on it and grabs Denki’s hand, leading him to the elevator.
“Bakugo! Dude, chill out!” Denki yells as soon as his door closes behind them. “Why are you so red?”
In any other situation, Denki would laugh at how red Katsuki’s face had gotten. His ears were almost scorching under the orange hearing aids. Denki couldn't laugh though, because he himself was also burning up. Not only was Katsuki still holding his hand, which is quite sweaty may he add, but his friend was unbelievably cute when flustered and Denki can't help but get flustered himself from it. This was definitely going to replay in Denki’s mind 24/7.
“Stupid fucking nerds are all up in our business!” Katsuki yells, finally letting go of Denki’s hand and going to set the tray down. Denki frowns, “Dude, they're our friends. Of course, they're gonna be curious.”
“There’s nothing to be fucking curious about!”
And that's that. Denki drops the conversation, sitting on his bed as he waits for Katsuki to calm down from his rage fit.
No one brings it up again.
Well until Thursday at lunch.
“Hey Bakugou, do you and Kami share clothes?” Kirishima asks innocently. Denki spits his soda out this time.
“Yes.” They both answer bluntly because for some reason it wasn't as nearly as embarrassing as sleeping in the same bed or saying pet names. “Bakugo smells really good!” Denki continues, “Like firewood and something sweet. You wouldn't think it'd be a good mix but it really is. Like a campfire with smores or some shit ya know?”
Kirishima’s eyebrows raise at this, “For real? I guess I've smelt him before, but I could only smell the sweet smell. Bakugo, that's so cool! You smell like s’mores!”
Katsuki felt that heat build upon his ears again. Goddamn ears, so stupid. “Stop talking about that shit. Creepy as hell.”
“Aww, you're blushing Blasty!” Denki teases, smiling widely. “What do I smell like?”
Kirishima thinks for a minute, while Katsuki already knows the answer. “You smell like fucking Old spice spray, it's disgusting.”
Kirishima beams at this, “He's right! You smell like that one Old Spice body wash with a book smell? Probably because your house at home is like an actual library.”
Denki smiles wider, laughing loudly. Katsuki watches, seeing that small gap-tooth making itself known, and how red Denki’s face gets so easily.
Fuck, his ears are burning again.
“Thanks! I'm hoping books is a good smell?”
“Oh yeah, man! It's homey.” Kirishima gives him a thumbs up. Katsuki just sits and stares.
Katsuki is now realizing he’s never been to Denki’s home, only the dorms, which is ridiculous, Denki has definitely been to his house before, right? They are always together, on the weekends too…right?
And that is how Katsuki finds himself in front of the Kaminari residence next weekend, hands slightly shaking. Katsuki was nervous, which of course there was no reason to be. From what he's heard Denki’s parents were angels on earth. But Katsuki was never fond of happy people, so having dinner with three of them sounds terrifying.
“Bakugo! Good evening!” Denki greets from the door, hands waving at him to come in. The smell of ‘books’ hits him immediately and he silently thanks Kirishima for bringing it up. Because indeed it is a very homey smell and Katsuki wishes he was close enough to Denki to smell the Old Spice smell as well. “You made it, I was starting to get worried I typed the wrong address,” Denki laughs.
“With how you type, I wouldn't be surprised.”
“It’s the dyslexia, man! And the keyboard is so close together, I can barely see what I am typing.” Denki pouts, still holding onto his hand as he weaves Katsuki through the hallway, shouting something about a house tour.
Kirishima was right. The whole goddamn house has at least one bookshelf filled to the brim with books, but the worst is the living room. Walls are covered in books, from fucking Shakespeare all the way to some normal, actually good books. Katsuki wonders which ones Denki actually reads. Katsuki has seen the dunce read before, but he never caught any titles, because the blonde prefers to read alone where it's quiet. Only has Denki ever read in front of him twice, and both times were relaxing quiet times. Normally when Katsuki takes naps, Denki stays up later. Maybe he reads than when everyone's asleep and quiet.
“The living room can be kinda uh messy, sorry. My dads are kinda book hoarders. I don't really ever read any of these actually. Mine are all in my room, which reminds me!” Denki turns, pulling Katsuki with him as they walk down the narrow hallway, littered with pictures, some weren't even in frames, and in all were four men and two girls. Katsuki looked at them with a curious eye. He knew Denki had two dads and siblings. He had never met them, but Denki talked about them enough to get a general idea. All the doors were closed, and at the end of the hall, where they stopped in front of a door with a giant ‘DENKI’ written on it, was a giant window, looking out onto a lawn with lots of flowers, and a table underneath the table which held an incense burner, smoke coming out of it, and a random ass cactus.
“Oh yeah,” Denki said, staring at the cactus, “That's Mo. Don't touch him, very prickly and one time my brother fell and his whole hand landed on Mo! Funny as hell, but not for him,” Denki laughs, turning back to his door, “Anyways! Welcome to my humble abode, the Denki man cave!”
Denki opens the door with a wide smile. And wow it was bright. If Katsuki didn't know better he’d say that he was the hoarder, not his dads. There were books stacked ontop of each other by the bookshelf which was too full to fit any more books or action figures, and yes Denki definitely was a KISS fan with how many figures of them he had, alongside some anime ones. Some of the books, Katsuki actually recognized this time, and he found himself being pulled further into the room. Besides the bookshelf, Denki had a big bed, filled with stuffed animals and he had to hide a smirk. On the floor was a rug, even though he had hardwood floors, and a pile of, Katsuki assumed, dirty clothes. And of course, his walls were littered with the most random things, same as the desk which was covered in papers and random gadgets.
It smelled like books and old spice spray, and Katsuki couldn't help it, he smirked. “Some damn room you’ve got.”
Denki beamed, taking it as a compliment, “Thanks! When I was little I was never allowed many things, so now I cherish uh,” Denki looks around the room, “Everything.”
Katsuki raised a brow at his statement but ignores it nonetheless. “I can see that, and you say your dads are the hoarders.”
Denki laughs, loud and booming, showing off that small gap tooth. “I guess we kinda all are. My brother is kinda the only one who doesn't. His room is exactly like Iida’s!”
Katsuki walked over to the bookshelf, fingers grazing the colorful books, reading the titles. He definitely didn't store the titles in his brain for later to search them up, definitely not. A lot of them were Y-A but Katsuki found some non-fiction and even fucking poetry in the mix. What made him laugh was ‘the full encyclopedia of Zebras,’ “You like zebras, sparky?” He teased picking up the book and waving it in the air.
Denki blushes, grabbing it from Katsuki, “Yes! They're cool!”
Katsuki just hums, smiling at Denki's very red face, making his freckles pop out. And Katsuki could still see that gap-tooth between his lips. Not that he was looking.
“What's your favorite animal, Bakugo?” Denki asks, sitting on his bed as he fidgets with the pages of his weird Zebra book. Katsuki actually thinks for a moment for the answer. He likes wolves, and sometimes he liked, “Cats.”
Denki almost startles with the answer, but after his shock he busts out laughing, hand slapping Katsuki’s back in a way to get air. And before Katsuki knows it, he's being pulled out of the bizarre room and down the hallway once again. “Well, I've got news for you, babe.”
Katsuki's ears burn, “Stop calling me that. I’ve told you multiple times we aren't dating.”
“Yeah yeah, whatever you say.” Denki laughs, opening the door at the start of the hall. And the smell of cats hit him like a rock. It wasn't a gross smell, no. Just a surprising one, and as he’s being pulled into the room, he finds himself looking around again. The wall colors and wood flooring are the same but decorated very differently. It looks like an office, with somehow more books, but this seems more like textbooks instead of ones you read for a good laugh or cry.
And in the corner of the room. A large cat tree stands, tall with two furballs huddled together on it. Katsuki immediately walks over, and he can hear Denki snicker behind him, but Denki can be ignored for now.
Katsuki was never allowed pets at home due to his quirk and the fact he accidentally overfed a fish in fifth grade. So of course he was fucking ecstatic that his friend owned not one but two cats.
The one Katsuki finds himself petting first is black with floppy ears and a long face. His tail is fluffy. The other one is a grey short hair with brownish spots and the most squished face Katsuki’s ever seen.
Denki finally comes up behind him, leaning on Katsuki, “The black one is Ham and the grey one is Beef.”
Katsukis snaps his head down to Denki, eyes blown wide, “Are you fucking kidding me? Did you name them?”
“What no! It was a family decision, obsulutly.” Denki laughs, rubbing circles onto Katsuki’s back like he always does when he's anxious. “But uhm, Ham’s super loud meower, and you can hear him from like two rooms away. And beef likes to attack people, so be warned. She's a force to be reckoned with, kinda reminds me of you.”
Katsuki smiles at this. Petting Ham and letting Denki lean on him again, the circles on his back have disappeared, replaced with a strong hand on his shoulder. Denki pets Beef who is sleeping soundly, purring.
It's peaceful, Katsuki notes. It's like the nights Denki sews quietly next to Katsuki, or the times they binge-watch movies all night, and that one time Denki said nice comforting words to him when his hearing aids acted up and made everything ring. No one ever thinks the two could be peaceful. Katsuki is rash and mean, and Denki is flirty and annoying. But they can be comforting and peaceful. Quite often, actually. Katsuki doesn't think he’s ever been so annoyed but also relaxed by someone. A terrifying thing, truly.
Katsuki can hear Denki’s breathing and can feel his jittery hand playing with the string on Katsukis shirt. Katsuki can see Denki’s hand as he pets the cat with such a stupid name, and he can see the bracelets Denki wears dangle onto the cat, he can see the writing on some of them and he can hear the jingling as they move and clack together when he moves his hand. Katsuki wonders if he should wear bracelets. Denki always has some form of jewelry on and as Katsuki only has ear piercings, Denki has multiple on his face like his snakebites and septum and a god-forsaken belly button piercing everyone forgets about. But Katsuki sees it sometimes. Whether it be when Denki changes into his hero costume, or when he steals Katsuki’s clothes and tries them on. He sees it, and it makes him curious. Is the metal cold or is it hot from Denki’s skin? Does the blonde change up the piercing every once in and while? Is it hard to take care of?
But Denki’s jewelry doesn't stop there. He seems to always have bracelets on, and a choker that Katsuki could never admit out loud was incredibly hot. Sometimes Denki wore dangly earrings but normally stuck with his black studs. Katsuki remembers when Denki asked him to pierce his ears, and of course, Katsuki did it. Katsuki had pierced plenty of his own and he was glad to do it on another person. They ended up turning out good, and Denki bragged about Katsuki’s ‘piercing skills’ for days.
“Denks!” Both boys were startled, waking up the cats as they stumbled away from each other. “Help me unload groceries!”
“Uh,” Denki looked frantic, and Katsuki would have found it very amusing if he wasn't frantic himself. “Hold on!”
Denki bolted out the door, Katsuki letting out a snort when the blonde tripped on a rug. Seriously, what was with all the rugs?
Katsuki followed the direction Denki ran to find himself in the rather large kitchen, a man who looked nothing like Denki right in front of him. Denki looked between them frantically before talking, “Uhm dad this is Bakugo! Bakugou, this is dad!”
The man was tall, around 6’2, and his hair was short, almost buzzed. He looked like he just got out of prison with how many scars he had, and Katsuki quickly averted his eyes, “Nice to meet you,” he grunted out.
“Hm,” The dad hummed, “You help me unload these groceries before dad two gets here?”
The question was to Katsuki but Denki immediately answered, “Yep dad, when will he get here?”
“Two.” Dad ‘1’ says, gruff.
“Okay, let's go Bakugo!” Denki grabs Bakugo's hand, once again, leading him to the front door.
As they unload food, Katsuki wonders if Denki’s dad doesn't like him. Most people didn't, but it was still intimidating when a grown-ass man who looked like a vigilante was staring hard at you. Denki doesn’t look at all bothered though, in fact, he’s beaming.
“He likes you!” Denki says, eyes crinkling and he just looks so happy, so Katsuki decides to believe him.
Another car gets in the driveway, this one much bigger, and with a lot more people. There are stickers on the car, ones Katsuki can’t identify. As soon as they park, two girls jump out, running up to Denki and hugging him. “Denks! Dude we had the craziest day at school!”
Katsuki assumes they are middle schoolers, from how they look. Denki has actually never told him the age of his siblings, just that his brother was older and his sisters are younger. They all look different though, and it throws Katsuki off for a moment. Denki’s sisters both have long dark hair, one with bangs, the other without. Both their eyes look to be quite dark brown and they aren't littered in freckles like Denki. The only similarity is their beaming smiles.
“Hey uh you can tell me, but say hi to Bakugo,” Denki says laughing, pointing towards the other blonde. The girls look at Katsuki, eyes widening. “Hey, Bakugo!” One says, the other waving kindly. Katsuki finds himself waving back, and when he looks up he sees Denki smiling fondly at him. The fuck is that look for?
“Denks! You brought a friend! What the hell are you guys doing out here with those bags? Did dad make you do this? Again? Would Have thought he stopped after Kirishima.” A man who looked like Denki came out of the car, laughing. Katsuki’s eyes trained on him, trying his best to look less..himself.
The man looked young, sounded young too. Maybe early thirties. His hair was golden yellow like Denki’s but didn't have the black streak, and was longer. And his eyes weren't as striking as Denki’s either. Although he did notice earrings on the similar man.
“Hey pops,” Denki smiles, “This is Bakugo!”
The man smiles wider, “Evening! I would shake your hand but they look quite full, how about we go inside?”
And so they do, all piling into the kitchen as Katsuki and Denki help put the groceries away. One of them must have turned on music because the house is filled with a soft tune, and the girls are talking away about their crazy day at school while the boys listen and give commentary. Katsuki even snorts as one of them cusses like a sailor and the adults do nothing to stop it.
Katsuki soon finds out dad one isn't as scary as he seems. He laughs and blushes, just doesn't talk much. The blonde finds himself respecting the man. Dad two reminds Katsuki too much of Denki that it's almost scarier than dad one. He has those same squeaky voice cracks and flirts with his already boyfriend like it's his lifeline. But he is a lot more confident with it, and Katsuki wonders that if he and Denki truly dated, would Denki be that confident?
He gets rid of the idea as soon as it enters his mind and helps cook, even if they insist he shouldn't, and he ends up enjoying everyone's company.
It’s a lot different than at home. The house is loud, yes, but not loud. They play music, they talk and they laugh but no one yells harshly. No one is smashing things and no one is slamming doors shut. It is, as Kirishima would put it, homey.
Katsyki learns a lot while he's there. He learns that Denki’s older brother is in college studying Entomology, something Katsuki didn't even know existed until now. He also learned that they all read. Not just Denki and his dads but his sisters and brother too. They all have their own bookshelves filled with books in their rooms, and Katsuki finds that strangely endearing. Dad two tells Katsuki about how Denki is fluent in English and will read books in English occasionally. He brags about it so much that Denki goes red and Katsuki thinks back to his bookshelf which had multiple English titles.
The whole night goes like this, and Katsuki finds himself listening intently for new information, which he always ends up getting.
Before he knew it, dinner was done and he was being pulled back into Denki's room, door slamming shut. They don't say anything, just cuddle up on the bed, their legs slotting together. Katsuki can faintly hear a cat meow before he falls asleep.
_________________
A week later Katsuki finds himself struggling. When he left Denki’s house he smelt of books and old spice and he started to realize it wasn't a bad smell and ended up not washing his hoodie as soon as he got home. Instead, he cuddles up with it and takes the longest nap he's ever taken in his life.
Then he’s back at the dorms and Denki proceeds to spend way too much time in Katsuki’s dorm room, and people still keep asking too many questions. “Why did he send you a heart in the group chat?” “Bro he just called you ‘honey’?!” “How do you know he knows English?” “Spending the night together again?” “Do you guys have matching sweaters?”
On one very cold night, Katsuki could've sworn Denki stole yet another one of his sweatshirts, but he isn't even mad or irritated. And the next day Denki held hands with Katsuki as they watched their tv show, and the warmness almost made Katsuki feel bliss. And these things keep happening and Katsuki is fed up.
They aren't dating, so why do these things keep happening, and why does he not give a shit?
“Bakugo!” He turns to the loud voice, “Look what I made for us!”
The electric blonde holds up two bracelets, one orange, and green, the other black and yellow. Katsuki’s eyes squint as Denki shifts closer to him on the bed, grabs his hand, and pulls the yellow and black bracelet onto his wrist. “I was gonna make matching ones, but these technically are matching. Black and Yellow for my hero costume, and orange and green for your hero costume. What’cha think?”
Katsuki watches as Denki pulls the orange and green one onto his own wrist. Matching bracelets? Sure, Katsuki mentioned he wanted some bracelets after leaving Denki’s house, but matching ones?
Denki’s own matching bracelet blended in with his many others, while Katsukis stood out on his pale skin from his lack of bracelets. He couldn’t tell if that made it worse or better. “They're okay I guess.”
“What?!” Denki yelps, “you guess? I spent hard work on these, babe! I had to go buy orange string at the store the other day ‘cause I didn't have any. If you're not gonna be appreciative then I want my five dollars back!”
“Chill out sparky,” Katski shifts on the bed, smiling. “I didn’t say I didn't like it.”
Katsuki looks up from his spot on the bed to see his friend- scratch that- crush grows a blush as he coughs and avoids eye contact. “Well Uhm, that's good. Because you mentioned you wanted bracelets and I was like ‘what not better than matching ones’.”
“Mhm,” Katsuki hums, “It looks good. Surprised you could make something like this.”
And Denki laughs, holding his stomach as he falls back onto the bed with those loud booming laughs and he can see that stupidly cute gap-tooth again. Without hesitation, Katsuki brings himself on top of Denki, who jumps at the sudden contact and stops his laughing fit. Katsuki uses his elbow at the other side of Denki's head to give him some balance as he looks at Denki. Katsuki knows what Denki looks like. He has stared at him for long periods of time. It's just when you are this close and share the same breath, he notices everything. Denki has more freckles than just his nose. They spread onto his forehead and a rather large one stays under his right eye. His eyes are golden, but they have dark brown specks and Katsuki feels himself narrowing his eyes to look at them better. Denki’s forehead has slight acne scars from picking at his skin, and Katsuki doesn't seem to mind them. They blend in with his freckles and it makes Katsuki’s lips turn up. But he doesn't have time for smiles because Denki is tired of waiting and he's grabbing Katsuki’s face and smashing their lips together roughly.
Katsuki tries his best to soothe Denki by rubbing small circles on his stomach with his other hand, he can feel the belly button piercing underneath the thin fabric, and it somewhat works and they sigh into the kiss. Denki’s mouth moves and Katsuki follows his every move, and somehow it turns into a full-blown make-out session as Katsuki’s tongue enters Denki’s mouth and he can feel that annoyingly pretty gap tooth.
Katsuki moves, going fully on top of Denki in a straddling position as they continue to kiss. Katsuki can smell the book and old spice and he sighs, moving away. Denki chases him, a pout on his lips but Katsuki just smiles, moving the messy hair out of Denki’s face, and running his fingers along the acne scars and dark freckles.
“Can I call you Katsuki?” Denki asks as the other blonde traces his nose, making Denki close his eyes. Katsuki lets out a huff, “Sure, dunce.”
Denki’s eyes open, pouting again, “Hey! You have to call me Denki now! We are boyfriends, that's what they do.”
“Are we boyfriends, we just kissed, nothing more.” Katsuki smiles and Denki looks so offended.
“Of course we are! We kissed and I made us ‘matching boyfriend bracelets’!”
“So that's why you made us bracelets? A confession…through matching bracelets?” Katsuki snorts as he continues to trace Denki’s jaw.
“Well…” Denki shifts a bit under Katsuki, “I mean yeah. So are you gonna be my boyfriend or not?”
“I’ll think about it,” Katsuki doesn't give Denki time to answer as he leans down, pressing soft kisses to the others lip, and they are back at it again. Denki is less tense this time, and he begins to move under Katsuki and make noises. He lets Katsuki move his hand underneath his shirt, and the metal is cold.
They don’t get far after that as they just hold each other and lay there. Katsuki wants to laugh loudly but he stays quiet. This is ridiculous, crazy, insane.
“‘Suki,” Denki starts, “Can we please be boyfriends? I’ve legit been flirting with you since the beginning of the school year.”
“Finding nicknames for me already? And you flirt with everyone.” Katsuki leans into Denki more.
“I don’t kiss everybody, though. I don’t steal everyone’s clothes. I don't make everyone matching bracelets, and I don’t read around just anyone. You know that.” Denki is starting to sound frustrated.
“I know.” Katsuki can catch onto the frustrated voice and he feels bad for being an asshole and not giving an answer, “babe.”
Denki gasps, pushing Katsuki off of him and smiling so wide his face looks ready to rip, “You just-just! You called me babe!”
Katsuki laughs, “Got your fucking answer?”
“No no!” Denki laughs with him, “you have to say it. ‘Denki, will you be my boyfriend?’. Just like that!”
“Dunce, will you be my boyfriend?”
“No!” Denki laughs again, “Denki!”
There's a pause, Katsuki sighs, “Denki,” another sigh, “fuck will you be my boyfriend or some shit?”
“Shit fuck yeah!” Denki scrambles to get on top of Katsuki kissing him with that beaming smile still present.
When they enter class the next day, everything stays the same. People tease them some more about being ‘so obvious’ but this time Katsuki doesn't deny it. And when they get back to the dorms, Denki leads Katsuki to his dorm, giving him pecks here and there as they watch their tv show.
And everything is so comforting. And they aren't just friends, no, not anymore. And class 1-A isn't as fed up anymore after they find the two kissing in the locker rooms.
