How Isabela and Mirabel helped a sick Pepa

Summary:

Tia Pepa was sick once.

Only Mirabel and Isabela were there to help her as a hurricane kept the rest of the family in town. So how did they cure her sickness?

Well, here's the story

Notes:

(See the end of the work for notes.)

Work Text:

It was dinner time, the whole family was eating and conversing amongst themselves, it was all fun and they were all enjoying the food Julieta had made, but then Luisa said

“Mirabel. Did you and Isa tell Mama about your injury?”

Mirabel froze, Isabela tensed and they both glanced at their Mama, who had stopped talking with Bruno and had snapped her head towards them.

The table went silent and before any of them could process anything they turned to look at where Mirabel was once sitting, it was empty and the only thing left was the plate with Tamales- oh. No, she left with those too.

They looked at Isabela and saw her attempting to get out of the room but not before Luisa grabbed her and frowned “I thought you were going to tell her!”

 “We were!” Isabela paused “We just never got the chance to-”

“So now you have the chance” Luisa sat her older sister down and gave her a stern look, the look that said: Yeah, you’re not getting out of this so just start talking

Isabela sighed and lifted her hand, then hearing as Mirabel yelped “ISA!”

“I’m not doing this by myself!” Isabela shot back

Mirabel was dragged inside by Isabela’s Vines, a (Not serious) annoyed expression. She sat back on the chair and crossed her arms “You could do it by yourself”

“No I can’t”

“Yes you can”

“Can’t”

“Can”

“Ca-”

“Isa. Mira”

They looked over at Luisa who was frowning at them

Mirabel sighed “Fine” she looked at her Mama and smiled “Do you remember when Tia Pepa was sick?”

Confusion ran around the table, Abuela Alma frowned “Pepa was never sick”

Isabela smiled “She was” she paused “Remember that storm, well more like basically a hurricane, that happened a year ago?”

“Yes?”

Isabela and Mirabel nudged towards Tia Pepa, who blinked in shock, “Wait, I did that?”

Mirabel nodded as Isabela sighed “Yup”

Mirabel smiled “I can tell you the short version of the story” she paused. “I woke up in  the middle of the storm, Me and Isabela fought, I got shot by lightning-” Pepa jumped “I was blown into the storm, Isabela saved me. We grew the sundrop flower, gave it to Pepa and BOOM!”

Mirabel smiled

“She was cured.”

She leaned back and bit into her tamale, as her family stared at her

“What?!” Dolores shouted “You never mentioned being blown into the storm!”

Mirabel shrugged “It never came up”

Camilo nodded “To be fair we were busy helping Antonio”

His sister looked at him “Still! She should have mentioned this before”

Mirabel smiled “Well. We told you what happened, so…let’s continue eating” she opened her mouth to bite into another Tamale but stopped when her Mama spoke

“Mija. Can you tell us everything that happened?”

It sounded innocent. But Mirabel knew that tone of voice, and if she didn’t start talking she knew she would get in so much trouble.

And…she also didn’t want to deal with an angry Mama

Mirabel sighed “Fine. Here’s  it goes-”

~~~
Mirabel had been woken up by the sound of thunder and strong wind, outside. Half-asleep she stood from her bed, making sure to grab her glasses from a tabla and put them on.
She looked outside “Whoa”
She looked in awe as the storm surrounded the whole town, she slowly opened the window and gasped as strong wind broke into the house
“Casita! A little help?”
The window swiftly closed and Mirabel sighed as she placed a hand on the wall of Casita “Thank you Casita”
A gentle rumble sounded through the house. She smiled and patted the wall again, another small thank you coming out as a whisper.
She exited her room (Well, the nursery actually), flinching at the violent wind and looked around “Hello?”
She frowned when no one responded and whispered “Dolores?”
Still nothing.
Mirabel grinned, there was no one here. She was completely alone which meant she could-
Mirable stopped and glanced around, she coughed and ignored everyone's stares
Camilo blinked and grinned “Oh?” he paused “What do you do when nobody is around? Hm?”
Mirabel mumbled something which Dolores caught, which made her chuckle slightly “She says to shut up”
He huffed and crossed his arms “Anyways, get on with the story”
She nodded and finally looked up
-But before she could return to her room she heard a distant crash from above. She frowned and walked up the stairs, stopping and hoping she could hear the sound again.
She did
It was coming from Tia Pepa’s room.
She frowned. And then it clicked
Something or Someone upset Tia Pepa, this was dangerous territory she was about to enter. Territory that only her Tio Felix or Mama could survive.
…wait.
Was her Tia causing the storm outside?
…Yeeeeeaaah. There was no way she was going to try to go and calm her down. At least not without backup!
Then Mirabel heard humming, beautiful humming, and she did not like who it belonged to.
She glanced towards her older sister's room and stepped closer (not too close) and confirmed that yes, her older sister, Isabela was home with her and Tia Pepa.
Mirabel groaned quietly but glanced at Tia's door, before glancing at Isabela’s again. As much as Mirabel didn’t want to be around Isabela (Because she really didn’t want to be anywhere NEAR her) there was no denying the fact that Isabela could possibly be able to calm her Tia down.
Mirabel hummed
Then again…should she bother Isabela? After all, she was probably busy with something and she probably doesn’t want to be bothered by her. Yeah
Mirabel spun around and-
“Seriously?!”
Mirabel turned to Isabela and gave her a smile “Yes?”
“You hated me so much that you didn’t want to get me to try and calm her down?” Isabela said in shock
“I wouldn’t say…I hated you back then” Mirabel paused and stifled a laugh at Luisa’s raised eyebrow and Dolores shocked look, she smiled “I would say I was  annoyed by your attitude and envied you. And besides, this was before I figured out why you acted like that…so it’s in the past” she waved her hand and took a sip of her water
“Besides…I just thought she was upset. Not sick and hey, you saw what happened, Were you expecting that?”
“Fair point” Isabela leaned back
“Anyway-”
-She began to walk down the stairs when Casita pushed her back up. She groaned “Fine!” she paused and glanced at the stairs before looking at Isabela’s door
“Mind helping me out?”
Casita seemed to give a huff as the stairs returned to their original positions.
She looked (More like heard) as Isabela yelped from inside her room and was pushed out of it without a reason.
“Casita!” Isabela groaned but then snapped her head towards Mirabel who was watching with her arms crossed trying to…at least smile at her.
She must have failed to because Isabela frowned at her and asked with a sweet, which didn’t hide her annoyance, tone “Hey Sis. What’s up?”
Mirabel pointed at Tia Pepa’s door “Tia Pepa is upset”
Isabela blinked “And?”
Mirabel raised an eyebrow and asked “There’s a hurricane?”
Isabela jumped, “You mean-?”
“I assume, yeah”
Isabela walked past her and towards Tia's door. And Mirabel almost, almost went down the stairs, but she stopped as she began to think.
What exactly had upset Tia Pepa?
Everything had been fine when Mirabel had gone to sleep and Isabela looked genuinely surprised. She frowned and walked behind Isabela, watching as Isabela opened the door.
Only to be met with a strong gust of wind.
Isabela yelped and planted her feet, literally with her vines, on the ground. Mirabel gasped as grabbed the railing for support.
She felt…something
This wasn’t normal, granted none of her family members were ‘normal’ but this felt different. She didn’t know why but it just didn’t.
She frowned and walked past Isabela, who yelled in shock “What are you doing?! Get back here!”
She didn’t listen. She simply stepped inside the room, where she struggled to walk deeper in, she looked around and found Tia Pepa in her bed.
Mirabel stepped closer to her and she was soon pushed back by wind. She hit the wall and groaned “That’s gonna leave a bruise” she shook her head and stepped towards her Tia, placing a hand on her forehead.
She was burning up.
Tia Pepa was sick
Mirabel frowned “What?”
She yelped as the wind got stronger, she ran out the room and shut the door close. She looked around and found Isabela looking around “What did you do?!”
“Huh?” Mirabel blinked
Wait. What happened that’s supposedly her fault?
Mirabel frowned and she fought the urge to glare at her sister “Tia Pepa is sick”
Isabela blinked, she looked around “What does that have to do with…all of this?”
Mirabel shrugged “I don’t know” she crossed her arms “It makes no sense…why would she lose control of her power. Unless!-”
She ran down the stairs towards her room, hearing Isabela call for her. She pulled out a journal and passed the notes of her family's gifts.
Getting into a blank one and frowning.
Okay. think
Why would Tia Pepa being sick cause a storm?
It didn’t make sense. Well…she isn’t used to getting sick so of course she wouldn’t be happy, but still. Mirabel bit her lip, ignoring as the door to the nursery opened, she frowned “It doesn’t make any sense”
Isabela tilted her head
“What doesn’t?”
“The Hurricane, Tia Pepa. Even if she wasn’t happy it wouldn’t cause this much of a storm, i mean the only times she does this is when she’s extremely nervous or when she’s furious at something”
Isabela frowned
Mirabel pulled out a pencil, she shook her head “Anyway, we should try and make her feel better”
Isabela hesitated before she nodded “Where did Mama put the medicine?”
Mirabel shrugged “We should look for it, I mean, when was the last time any of us got sick?”
…never
None of them got sick
Well, Her papa and Tio Felix did, but after getting the medicine and resting up a bit they were better. After that they lost sight of the medicine and didn’t know where it had gone ever since
Isabela frowned and sighed “We should just wait for them to come back. Abuela will know what to do”
Mirabel slowly nodded “Right…”
She didn’t listen.
While Isabela had returned to her room, Mirabel stayed in the nursery chewing on her pen as she tried to find out the issue.
She frowned and scratched her head. “It doesn’t make sense.” she shook her head “Okay, come on. You can figure this out. After all you’ve learned more unique and useful ways to use your family’s gifts, what’s so hard about this one?”
She mumbled the last part before she began writing notes again
  • Hurricane started(No reason known yet)
  • Tia Pepa is sick
  • Strange feeling
She stopped and focused on the last note
She thought back to before Isabela opened the door. That feeling she got….did Isabela get it too? She shook her head, flinching as the hurricane got stronger outside
She frowned
And then there was that. Tia Pepa would never, at least on purpose, cause a hurricane. And yes, she was sick but that didn’t mean she could control her-
Mirabel paused
Oh.
…OH
Tia Pepa couldn’t control her gift. She stood up and paced around, that had to be the reason for the storm.
She winced remembering seeing Camilo struggle with his shifting when he first got it. It took a long time before he could actually control it. But that was because he was inexperienced but this was Tia Pepa! She knew how to control it.
Mirabel snapped her fingers, ah!
She was sick.
She hummed, did that mean-
She shook her head. No!
Mirabel stood up, she needed to find the medicine and give it to Tia Pepa. To make her feel better.
“Aw”
Mirabel looked at Camilo, she frowned as the boy shifted into her and dramatically said
“I must find a way to save my dear Tia, no matter what!” he shifted back into himself and smiled at her “Seriously, thanks for going so far for Mama”
Mirabel shrugged
Abuela hummed “I’m impressed that you managed to figure it out so quickly”
Mirabel scratched the back of her head, bashful smile on her face “Well…it was the only thing that made sense. After all, Tia Pepa would never let loose her emotions so carelessly like that” she paused and quickly added “Uh you’re wedding doesn’t count. You had every right to be nervous”
Bruno chuckled while Pepa smiled and said “Thank you”
Antonio jumped “What happened next”
Isabela and Mirabel glanced at each other
“Well…me and Isabela kinda argued and…bonded?” Mirabel looked at Isabela with a raised eyebrow, who smiled at her and rolled her eyes “Yeah”
Felix smiled “Well keep going, don’t leave us in suspense”
Mirabel nodded
Looking through the nursery didn’t do her any good. So she moved to the kitchen, where once again, she found nothing.
Mirabel groaned “Where could the medicine be?”
She paused, it couldn’t be in another room.
She bit her lip.
One one hand, she couldn’t go into their rooms, she didn’t want to break or disturb any of their privacy. But on the other hand, it was to help Tia Pepa, all she had to do is find the medicine
She hummed and gave a grin, she’ll start with Dolores
“WHAT?!”
Mirabel grinned as her cousin yelled, she leaned back “I didn’t see anything, don’t worry”
Dolores stared at her suspiciously but Mirabel had genuinely only looked for the Medicine. She did find a diary but she decided to leave it alone.
“Besides, what benefit would I get from looking around your rooms?”
“A lot of things” Luisa said
Dolores frowned “You would tease us to death”
“Blackmail” Camilo said a grin on his face
Mirabel blinked “Hm. hadn’t thought about that. But I'm not like that, I mean come on, what kind of person do you think I am?”
She didn’t find anything in her room. So she checked Luisa’s room, again, nothing. Next was Camilo’s, and, AGAIN…NOTHING.
She huffed and crossed her arms “I’m moving the medicine to the kitchen, okay Casita?”
Casita gave a rumble of agreement
She looked at the remaining two doors, her Mama’s and Abuela’s…
She frowned
Now, THIS was dangerous territory. If she went into Mama’s room and got caught she would get in trouble and it would basically be the same thing with Abuela Alma.
She jumped as thunder roared out
Mirabel shook her head “Just a quick look, a quick look”
She walked into her Mama’s room and she looked around, quickly of course, not finding the medicine. Which was ironic considering she was the healer of the family.
She shut the door behind her and began to walk towards Abuela’s door but she yelped as she was grabbed by her shoulders. She internally groaned
She turned around and was met with an angry Isabela.
…she had to admit, it was a sight to see
“What are you doing?!”
Mirabel glanced away “Nothing, can you let go of me”
“Why the heck were you in Mama’s room?!” she said
“I was looking for the medicine? What else would I be doing?” Mirabel shot back
“I told you we would wait for the rest of the family to come home!”
Mirabel frowned “And they aren’t back yet and they won’t be back for a long time” she extended her arm towards the sky “The hurricane is still active and it’s getting stronger and more dangerous. Look we just-”
Isabela groaned “Tia Pepa will get better on her own!”
Mirabel glared at her “No she won’t. She still hasn’t”
“Then we’ll-”
“Look. Tia Pepa is sick and can’t control her gift.”
Isabela frowned “Which is why we wait for Abuela, she knows more than us”
Mirabel frowned “Believe me, she doesn’t” she felt bad but didn’t take them back
“You-!”
“Look. I know how that sounded but I didn’t mean it like that” Mirabel took a deep breath “Look, Abuela isn’t here, and we’ve never dealt with someone sick I mean…again, when was the last time someone got sick?”
“Exactly”
Mirabel sighed
“Look, Tia Pepa is causing this storm and she won’t stop if she doesn’t get better. So instead of arguing about what to do, let’s just go find the medicine and give it to her. Then, maybe, if the storm doesn’t go away, we’ll wait for Abuela to come back and help us. Okay?”
Isabela stared at her, she looked at the storm and then at Tia Pepa’s door “Alright, Alright but I swear if this doesn’t I will-”
“I get it. I mean, how bad can it be?”
“Ha!” Camilo pointed at Mirabel “You said the same thing as I did!”
Mirabel rolled her eyes “It’s different, me and Isabela warned you it would be bad, us however didn’t know it would get bad”
Isabela “Well, it wasn’t bad, it was just windy, it got really bad when you-”
“Shh! Spoilers!” Mirabel shushed her
“How bad can it be, she says, it can’t be that bad she said”
Mirabel held onto the stairs, “Listen! Do not put this on me, I didn’t know it would be this bad just to open the door”
Lightning roared from the sky
She yelped “This is what it's like when she’s sick?!”
Isabela raised her hand and vines wrapped around the doorknob, opening it up. Isabela and Mirabel yelped and stood behind the door, watching the gust of wind pass
“You sure it's in there?” Isabela asked
Mirabel nodded “Tio Felix was the last one that got sick, I think he was at least”
Isabela frowned “You think?”
“It’s been a long time!”
Isabela rolled her eyes and walked inside, Mirabel behind her.
She immediately shivered at how cold it was in the room, she began to look around. Not noticing the dark cloud forming around Tia Pepa’s head, Mirabel on the other hand noticed and frowned. What was happening?
Isabela looked through one of the drawers and grinned "found it!"
She was pushed to the side as the cloud above Tia Pepa's head began thundering.
Then. A scream.
Isabela opened her eyes and she found Mirabel, holding her shoulder. Her little sister was biting her lip, opening her eyes as she looked up at her.
"Y-You Okay?" her little sister asked.
Blood dropped from Mirabel. Isabela's blood went cold
Mirabel hissed and winced as she held her shoulder. She shakily stood up and nudged Isabela "Come on, we shou-"
The window burst open
And Mirabel yelped as she stumbled to the ground. Screaming as the wind pulled her outside.
Into the storm.
Isabela managed to break free from the shock. She stood up and vines burst from the ground, wrapping around Mirabel.
Mirabel opened her eyes, or at least did her best to.
“Don’t let go of me!” she pleaded
Isabela grunted as she wrapped her arms around her vines “I won’t!” she looked at Tia Pepa and began to walk backwards.
She pulled on the vines as strong as she could, giving a loud scream as She pulled Mirabel in. Mirabel landed on top of her, her shoulder still bleeding and herself being soaked in rain.
Mirabel let out a shaky sigh
“Sis?” Isabela asked worriedly
No response.
And before she could even register anything else, Mirabel’s vision went back
“What?!” her Mama stood up and rolled up her sleeve, Seeing the scar there made her frown “Why didn’t you ask for any of my food?”
Isabela sighed “It didn’t heal her”
Their Papa blinked at them “What? But how is that possible?” everyone was confused as well
Mirabel frowned “It’s because Tia Pepa’s lightning was the thing that gave me the scar” all attention was brought to her “Your gifts are magic, yes Mama’s gift is healing but it would only work with normal injuries., the injury I got was made from magic”
She shrugged “But that’s the only thing I’ve managed to theorize about it”
“What happened after you fell unconscious” Tio bruno asked, a concerned and worried look on his face
Mirabel opened her eyes, she sat up and winced when she felt pain on her shoulder. She looked at it and stared at her bandaged shoulder.
“Good you’re awake”
Mirabel jumped and looked at Isabela, who sat beside the bed “What happened?”
“What happened is that you were an idiot. What were you thinking? Taking that hit like that”
“You would have gotten hurt” Mirabel shrugged, Isabela’s eyes widened,  she paused “Did you-”
“I did, it didn’t work.” Isabela sighed “It’s been hours and the storm hasn’t gotten better, it’s gotten worse in fact”
Mirabel frowned “What do we do now?”
Isabela shrugged “I don’t know”
Then, as if answering their question, Casita gave a rumble and the tiles on the floor shaped into arrows. The two glanced at each other before Isabela stood up and helped Mirabel up, they followed the arrows and it let them to the staircase.
Mirabel looked at Isabela, who frowned “Casita, if this is a prank I swea-”
The stairs opened up, a deep corridor heading down. The two stopped and looked at each other, eyes wide.
“Um…what is this?” Mirabel asked
Isabela shook her head “I don’t know. I mean, I’ve never seen this before”
Mirabel walks down the corridor, Isabela behind her, the two staying close to each other until they reach a door. Isabela frowned “This can’t be a good thing, right?”
Mirabel hummed
“We’re still going to go in aren’t we?”
“Oh definitely” Mirabel stepped forward and they walked in, pushing the door open and blinking at what she saw “A…library?”
Isabela walked in “Weird. Abuela never mentioned Casita having a library”
Mirabel looked around, and she stopped “Isabela”
Her sister hummed
“Do you feel that?”
Isabela frowned and was about to ask something but then she stopped “..yeah”
The two looked around, and stopped at the sight of a book. A book with a golden flower on its cover. Mirabel grabbed it and opened it, she frowned and read the entry “The Sundrop Flower..?”
Isabela leaned over and frowned “A flower?”
Mirabel read a bit of it and her eyes widened “Whoa”
“What?”
“Look” Mirabel pointed at something in the entry “It says that the flower is magic. Like our miracle, you’re gifts” she winced at the last part
Isabela’s eyes widened “What?”
Mirabel looked back at the book and read “It has the ability to heal any sickness, or injuries, even mortal wounds and-” she frowned “Magic sicknesses?”
Isabela blinked “Wait does that mean-”
“We can use this and give it to Tia Pepa!”
“I don’t know…seems risky and not to mention shady” Isabela crossed her arms “How do we know it’ll even work, we can’t just believe this without thinking it through”
Mirabel frowned “Why else would Casita lead us here?”
“Good point” Isabela nodded. “So how do we grow or get it?”
Mirabel flipped through the book “Uh…someone with magic has to grow it?” she frowned “Whoever wrote this didn’t know how to cover the important things, they could have been more specific”
Isabela smiled “Well, that’s easy. I can grow it. Does it say how?”
Mirabel frowned again “At least they covered that part.” she coughed “ The person growing it has to be completely concentrated. Failure in doing so could cause the grower to suffer great headaches or other physical consequences.” she frowned “Use you’re magic to do so and the flower will grow”
Isabela placed her hand on the ground, she took a deep breath and did what she did best. Let the blossoms bloom.
At first nothing happened.
But then Isabela began to grunt as her body glowed a bright yellow. Mirabel jumped and stepped towards her “Isabela?”
No response
She knelt beside her sister and she immediately regretted it. Isabela’s irises were glowing bright yellow. She was shaking, sweat running down her forehead and onto the ground, her eyes filling with tears.
Where the flower slowly, SLOWLY, began to grow.
Mirabel looked at Isabel. Isabel was in pain, she could tell, Mirabel placed a hand on Isabela’s shoulder and she suddenly felt burned.
She pulled her hand away with a hiss, and looked at her palm. It was fine, not burnt.
She looked at Isabela and saw her sister still struggling. Mirabel extended her hand, but…she flinched and looked at her hand.
She didn’t know what that feeling was…but she didn’t want to feel it again.
Mirabel took a deep breath, Isabela would be in pain. And she would just be watching from the side. She bit her cheek and growled.
No way.
She wasn’t going to just sit there while her sister went through pain
She shook her head and placed a hand on Isabela, shutting her eyes close as pain spread through her hand. Mirabel took a deep breath and squeezed her shoulder.
Isabela released a sigh and she opened her eyes to stare at her sister. A smile appeared on her face but it soon disappeared when she shuddered.
Mirabel glanced at the ground “Come on, you’ve got this, Isabela”
Isabela groaned
Mirabel glanced down at the ground and watched as the Sundrop began to grow. Mirabel watched with wide eyes. It was beautiful, the most amazing thing she had ever seen
She shook her head and began to shake Isabela “hey, hey, it grew you can stop!”
Isabela lifted her hands and the glowing stopped, she gasped and leaned on Mirabel. Mirabel frowned and placed a hand around her “...Sis?”
Isabela didn’t respond and merely continued to breathe in and breathe out. After a few minutes of this, Mirabel stood up and lifted her up, Isabela leaning on her “I’ll take you back to your room”
Isabela gave a moan of pain as a response
Mirabel snorted, but inside she was scared, she had never seen her older sister so…tired and weak. She was usually so…full of energy and creating flowers was nothing hard for her.
Mirabel glanced down at the Sundrop.
She frowned.
She never thought she would hate a flower as much as she did right now.
“Don’t” a warning left Mirabel
Unfortunately for Mirabel, that didn’t stop Isabela from hugging her “Aw~ you were worried about me, I love you too sis”
Mirabel groaned “Whatever” a small smile on her face
“So, you took her back to the room?” Camilo asked
“Yup. And afterwards I gave the flower to Tia Pepa and she was better” Mirabel shrugged
“What about the library?” asked Bruno
Mirabel frowned “I don’t know”
He raised an eyebrow “what?”
She shook her head “I mean, after that day Casita never showed it to us and no matter how many times we-I tried to ask, it just…seemed to disappear”
“Wait. Didn’t you find the book?” Isabela asked “How did you get it?”
Mirabel smiled “Well…”
Mirabel had returned to grab the Sundrop, she looked behind her and stared at the book. She looked at the flower and then back at the book.
She frowned and grabbed it.
Leaving the library and returning upstairs. Watching as the stairs returned and as the corridor disappeared in front of her.
She stood there for a few seconds, before she walked towards the kitchen and opened the book, reading about the flower and what she needed to do in order to heal her Tia Pepa.
“You took the book and you still forgot about it?” Dolores asked
Mirabel frowned “I was more focused on forgetting what I saw that day” she shrugged  “Besides. It was something I didn’t think was important”
“Where is it now?” Abuela asked, an expression of worry on her face
Bruno smiled “I have it. I’ve been trying to see what it is and why it was inside Casita”
“And?” Julieta asked
“Well…I've got nothing” he shrugged “But I'm keeping it in the tower for now just in case” Just in case anybody outside the family finds out about it. He knew the people in town were nice people but still…you could never be too careful when it came to magic.
After all, some people would, maybe, do anything to get gifts like them.
Pepa looked at Mirabel “Still. I’m sorry abou-”
“Not your fault Tia” she smiled and looked at her shoulder “Besides, doesn’t hurt anymore as it used to before”
Julieta sighed “I just wished you two told me about this sooner”
Isabela smiled at her, hiding the worry she felt, “We at least managed to tell you”
“Hm” Julieta nodded “This doesn’t get you out of trouble”
The two sighed “Yes, Mama”
The family all shared a laugh, before they continued to eat dinner.
Bruno had been sleeping when it happened.
When he saw things that were most likely- no. That he knew was a vision.
It started with a dark forest, bright yellow eyes, from small to big, staring at him in hunger, anger, fear, sorrow, all types of emotions.
Then the image changed, showing a person in front of him
A Boy, standing tall, muscles strained covered in wounds, A small poncho covering most of his body, wearing pants and boots. His hair was tied in a low ponytail. He looked older than Camilo but younger than Luisa
Bruno could hear small sobs leaving the young boy before he heard him curse and shake his head.
The image of him disappeared, and was replaced by a girl
She was shorter than the young man, a bit taller than Mirabel. She had short hair and Bruno could see that she wore glasses. She wore a small cloak that didn’t even make it down to her elbows, she had a white shirt with holes on them, pants that were short for her and sandals.
He could hear her mumbling about headaches, her vision and-...her siblings and…mother?
But she, like the boy, disappeared, replaced by another girl.
Taller than the girl before her and the boy as well by a few inches.
She wore a long sleeve shirt, dirty and had holes in it, pants that were too short for her and had no shoes at all. Her hair was wild. Bruno could see sticks and leaves stuck on her hair.
He hears her crying, whipping her tears as she shudders.
But then she stops, and looks at him.
She looks at him.
Bruno gasps and then everything changes.
A large mansion, clouded in darkness.
A woman, with a grin of menacingly sharp teeth.
The three children, all turning to look at him-
Bruno gasps as he rises up from his bed.
He held a hand close to his chest, as his rats ran to him in order to comfort them.
Bruno couldn't hear their comfort, instead he held his head as he shook.
Who were those children, who was that woman, that forest, that house?
…just what the heck would their family go through in the future?
Notes:
I apologize this took a while I was busy updating some of my others stories, Hope you understand .ANYWAY!
Typing out Isabela, in the past(Pre-canon) was DIFFICULT. I've gotten used to typing her out in post-canon that writing her in the past was actually surprisingly difficult for some reason. And yes, in case my typing didn't do its best, they did argue. Not every Argument has to be between two people yelling and fighting each other.
A headcanon of mine is that Casita has rooms that even the Madrigal's aren't aware of, After all Casita isn't just a house, it's a thing that can feel and can interact with others(At least in my headcanon), It's a magical being itself. And Yes, Bruno's tower is a part of his new room I just didn't include it in the story "Regrets"
The next addition to the series will show how Bruno returned to the family, since it the first story "Things will be better" it was a recommendation from someone to write how Bruno Entered the Family again. It was recommended by: MartinTello15 It'll be a multi chapter series, not sure when the first chapter will come out but probably soon.
NOW. There is a much bigger story behind this series, while it will be mostly of the Madrigal family there is something I'm planning on adding to this series. A much bigger story after the movie ended. So hope you're excited for that.
With that said:
I hope you guys enjoyed the story, as always, you're kudos and thoughts are appreciated. And I hope, you have a FANTASTIC day!
