Huntara's breath plumed as she brushed aside strands of the frost-clad willow in search of her girlfriend. The Princess was utterly unaware of her, wearing a bright pink winter jacket as she tended to some red hellebore and dark purple irises that had peeked through the snow drifts. She bent down to scrape up a snowball and called, "Heads up, Flowers!" as she threw it.
"Hunt-" Perfuma stopped mid-word as the snowball hit the back of her head. The tall, pale blond woman spun and ran into her arms. "Huntara!? It is you. I thought you'd gone back to the Crimson Waste already."
With a wry smile, she gently brushed snow from the holly that'd been wreathed into Perfuma's hair. "I always have time for you, Flowers. Besides I heard something about a Plumerian Winter Festival and I didn't want to miss my first one with you."
Perfuma smiled up at her and clasped her hands. "The Winter Rose Festival, of course. We have ice sculpting, skating on the pond, snowpeople forming and wreath-making events. When the Winter Rose blooms at midnight in front of the Heart Tree, we finish off the night with some traditional Plumerian songs, tea and hot, spiced apple cider. I really hope you'll like it."
"I've never been to a Festival before, but everything's better with you." Huntara admitted as she blushed. Perfuma always brought out the feelings she thought she'd forgotten. It was nice to have someone to care for again. She'd had a few friends back in the Horde - Panthera, Scorpia and Tyrrana. They'd fallen apart when Hordak had Shadow Weaver torture Tyrrana before sending her to Beast Island for being a coward, for letting those civvies live. From that moment on, until she'd met Perfuma she'd never really let anyone get close. Over the last few months that had started to change and, honestly, she liked it.
No, Plumeria wasn't the most exciting place combat-wise but she was starting to learn to appreciate that, too. The deer and little birds that hung around were almost as cute as Perfuma. After the Festival though, it'd be time to head back home before Tung Lashor and the Horde got too comfortable.
