Chapter 1: School and destiny!

Chapter Text

Today was Louie, Dewey, Huey and Webby's first day of high school. The 4 ducks all got dressed and ready to go, headed to the car, and said their goodbyes.

Huey wears the school uniform of a beige button up and an orange tie, over it he wears a red short sleeve button up sweater and a pink T-shirt under it, a red baseball cap and he has grown a small ponytail on the back of his head.

Dewey wears the school uniform but his tie is loosened to make him look ‘cool’, over it a long sleeve blue shirt, over it a sleeveless light blue jacket and he’s dyed the tips of his hair blue.

Louie wears the school uniform, over it a light green T-shirt and over that a green jacket.

Webby also wears the school uniform, over it a long sleeve light blue shirt and over that a pink plaid dress.

Later in the limo as they drive to school:

Huey excitedly says “I can’t believe we are going to the most prestigious school in all of Duckberg, much less that Scrooge is paying for it.”

Louie “Ugh school.”

Dewey’s eyes go wide “This is all of my best and worst dreams put together!”

Launchpad “It’s going to be tough.’’

Webby “Yeah..”

Huey “Is something wrong, Webby?”

“I should be happy but I want to go to Violet’s school... It's not that I don’t like you guys, it's just... Well, wouldn’t you guys want to go to school with your friends?” Webby asks.

Louie “Don’t look at me.”

Dewey “In a different city.”

Huey “is a robot.”

Launchpad “I am going to school with Dewey, So yes?”

Dewey “Launchpad you aren’t going to school.”

Huey “Yeah didn’t you do that already?”

Launchpad “I went to school?”

Then the conversation was abruptly stopped when the limo hit a pole.

Launchpad “We’re here.”

Huey “See you later.”

Dewey “thanks Launchpad.”

Louie “Remember to pick us up later.”

Webby “bye!”

“bye!” Launchpad says as he backs up into a car then drives off saying “sorry! Car I hit.”

After school while they wait for Launchpad, the ducks look at the club board.

Louie “Wow so many useless clubs, like who would join the orange juice club?”

Huey yells in a panic “I might!’’

Dewey “They got every sport plus some that I've never even heard of.”

Huey, hyperventilating with a look of insanity “I want to join every club, but I must schedule it out.” he begins writing furiously.

Louie, Ignoring Hueys breakdown, asks “What clubs are you thinking about joining Webby?”

Webby “I don't know... What about you?”

Louie looks confused “What about the last five years made you think I want to be in a club?”

Webby “Not even the nap club or watching Ottoman Empire club?”

Louie scoffs “I can handle doing those on my own.’’

Dewey proudly states “I figured it out! The golf club, I like golf and I am good at it.”

“The one with bombs?!” Webby asks with a hit of excitement.

Dewey “No. Normal golf, it’s what I'm good at.” (He still has only played one game of golf.)

Webby is disappointed in her brother.

Louie “Wow golf. Don’t expect me to watch your game.”

Dewey “You weren’t going to any way.’’

“Good point.”

Later, Dewey is at golf tryouts waiting his turn next to other teennagers. One, an angler fish, with dark blue skin, long reddish pink hair, and a fishnet shirt over the beige button up shirt and orange tie, says “Dude this is taking forever.”

Dewey “I may decompose before it’s my turn.”

The fish dude laughs “I’m B.B., what's your name bro?”

“It’s Dewey.”

“Dewey, where do I know that name from..? Bro?”

“Dewey Dew Night, the famous late night talk show?” (it still has like 12 views)

“Ummm, I don't think so dude.”

“Well you should watch it.”

“Maybe bro... But where do I know you from dude?”

“Probably the shadow army, or the moon invasion, or F.O.W.L?”

“That's it bro, F.O.W.L.“

“I know I’m so famous.”

“Well since you saved the world bro, take this sword from me.” he reaches into the water and takes out a sword. It has a gold hilt with blue gems in it and the blade shines silver.

Dewey eyes go sparkly “My very own sword!!” He takes the sword from B.B.’s hands, it glows blue then stops.

“The sword has attuned itself with you, your destinies are entwined dude.”

Dewey, despite not knowing what that means, says. “cool.?”

“Ha, no! That sword is cursed dude, now danger is lurking right behind you, and there are strangers out to find you.”

Dewey looks confused “So what is already happening to me daily?”

“Ummm, yes. But much worse dude.”

“I’m gonna have to doubt you on that, we goin through some crazy stuff.”

“Well whatever dude, you're cursed if you can tell or not.” Then B.B. jumps into the water and swims away.

Dewey, not bothered by B.B. randomly leaving after giving him a “cursed” sword; looks down at the sword in his hands. “Do I throw away this sword..? I can at least ask Webby and her friends about it. After golf tryouts of course.”

After golf tryouts, Dewey runs to the park table where the other three ducks are playing a card game.

“Guys, I Made the golf team!” Dewey shouts.

Webby looks over. “Nice sword. Wait, why do you have a sword?”

“I may have been cursed.. But that's not what’s important right now.”

Louie scoots his chair away from him.

Huey “The golf club isn’t more important than being cursed!”

Webby drops her cards and goes over to Dewey, examining him. “Ooo, what kind? Are you going to explode or go evil or dance until you die?!!”

“I guess we're pausing then.” Louie says as he puts down his cards and starts looking at his phone.

“It's something like, danger will find me.” Dewey explains.

Huey “So a normal day for us?”

“That's what I said!’

Webby “I’m disappointed.”

Huey thinks for a moment “I wonder what Scrooge will do to you?”

“Kick him out of the house or something worse.” Louie says without taking his eyes off his phone.

Dewey looks terrified “Worse??!!?”

Webby laughs “I’m sure Dad wouldn’t do that.”

Huey “I’m with Louie on this one, you're going to be in big trouble when he finds out, since he hates magic.”

“You mean IF, he finds out.” Dewey counters.

Webby “He won't punish you that much… He still lets Lena come over despite her being magic.”

“Yeah, and Scrooge is known for being reasonable.” Louie says sarcastically.

Webby “Fine, I won't tell.”

“I’m just not going to mention it..” Huey says nervously.

Then they hear the sound of a car crashing through things.

“Launchpad already?” Louie questions.

Huey “sounds bigger?”

Then a truck comes screaming right at them, crashing into everyone but Louie, who moved his seat.

Dewey “Oh shi-” But he was cut off before finishing.

Louie blinks “What the fuck!! Where's the truck and my siblings??”

The three ducks appear on a grassy mountain with a smashed truck next to them.

Huey “I blame Dewey.”

Webby “Me too.”

Dewey “We don’t know that!”

Webby “Where's Louie?”

“he must not have been transported because he stepped away from Dewey.” Huey says glaring at his brother.

Dewey quickly changes the subject “looks like there's a town down this mountain.”

Huey “Let's hope they're friendly.”

Webby “Ooo, a town I don’t know the history of!”

At the town.

Random citizens point at Dewey and shout “Is that the hero?!” “He's come to save us!” “We will be freed!”

Webby “Definitely Dewey’s fault.”

Dewey ‘’You're just jealous that I’m famous.”

Huey “At least they won’t kill us.”

A kingly looking dude walks up to them. “Hero, what is your name?”

“It’s Dewey Duck.”

“Dewey what a name it sounds like destiny.”

Huey “They only share the D and Y sound.”

Dewey “shhh, it's my dew-stiny.”

King “Hero Dewey, you were summoned here to save us from the evil demon king.”

Dewey “No prob.”

Webby “Why is he attacking you?’’

King “because.”

“Do you know anything about him?”

“I know he’s evil.”

Dewey interrupts “Do you at least know where he is?’’

“that castle on a volcano in the distance. But first you should meet your companions.”

Huey “Are we’re getting replaced?’’

The king unhelpfully leaves.

Webby “I doubt it.”

3 people walk up; a dog, a pigeon, and a raven.

“You're more beautiful than I imagined hero Dewey.” The dog says as she walks up to him.

I know I’m pretty..” He says with a tinge of awkwardness.

The pigeon. “I’m not here for you. just stay behind me. I don’t want you to get hurt.” he turns around and flips his long, luxurious, hair.

The raven “He’s mine, if you even think about him I’ll kill you.” She looks psychotic.

Dewey is sweating nervously “haha. Don’t fight over me, we can all be friends… right?”

The pigeon “I’m not your friend, or anyone’s.”

Webby “Who hurt you?”

The dog “I’m sorry, hero Dewey, please forgive me.”

Dewey “Yes I forgive you..?”

Raven “I could never be friends with them. Or those two companions of yours.”

Dewey, with more confusion “They’re my siblings..?”

Raven “only I can have you.”

Huey “Those are some serious issues.”

Later on the road. The three ducks are about to snap because their companions are super annoying and aren’t even good in a fight, Dewey and Webby have been doing all the fighting.

Dewey “How much longer to the volcano? It’s felt like 7 hours”

The raven “I should be your only concern.”

The pigeon “15 more minutes.”

The dog “I will treasure every second we spend together, hero Dewey.”

Huey “ugh.. It's like they only have one thing to say.”

Webby’s eye twitches “It’s not that bad.”

Dewey “Yes it is!”

The raven “We could ditch the others Dewey.”

Dewey gets a lightbulb over his head and a smile “that's it! We ditch them! Come on Webby and Huey let's go, to freedom!”

The three companions yell “WHat!!??”

Webby “sounds good.”

Huey “For my sanity's sake, yes.”

The three ducks run away. Their former companions try to catch up but aren’t fast enough.

Raven “I’ll kill you then we will never be apart!!”

Pigeon “Come back, not because I’ll be sad or anything!”

The dog is crying dramatically “Don’t go! Hero Dewey.”

Huey “Good riddance.”

Dewey smiles brightly “It feels great already.”

Webby “They were way more annoying than Louie’s ever bean.”

Huey “Haha yeah. though Louie would have complained the entire time.”

Dewey “I wonder how he’s doing?”

After his siblings disappeared Louie had an important choice to make; tell Scrooge, or keep it a secret. He's used to lying, and if Scrooge finds out about Dewey's curse he may get kicked out of the house. But, Scrooge could get them out of whatever place they went to. Louie decided to compromise and give his siblings one day to escape on their own, then he’s getting Scrooge involved.

First Louie texted Violet and Lena.

-----------------------

Emeralds&Cash: “Can I come over? Magic stuff happened, so I’m asking you 2 4 help.”

VioletMagic: “Yeah go ahead and come over, but Lena won’t be here.”

Emeralds&Cash: “Coming anyway.”

---------------------

Next Louie called his home and Beakley picked up. “Hello?” This was bad. It's hard to lie to her, because she's a master spy.

“Beakley, Hi.. It’s Louie, and we may be staying over at the Saberwing’s place tonight. Bye.” he hung up before Beakley could answer. It may make him more suspicious, but the less questions she asked the better.

At the Saberwings home- It's a small home but not as small as the houseboat Louie lived in for 10 years.

Violet is wearing a green turtle neck, with a black short sleeved collared shirt with a teal stripe, white pants and a black sun hat. “Ok what happened, and where are Webby and the others?”

Louie “Dewey got cursed, then it looked like a truck hit them, but the truck and my siblings disappeared.”

Violet “The most reasonable explanation is that Dewey’s curse caused this. Tell me more about the curse?”

Louie struggs “Yeah, you know just as much as me.”

Violet sighs “This is going to be a long night.”

Louie “And I don't know anything about magic so, I can’t help.”

Violet laughs at him “Oh you're helping.”

Back to the strange world the three ducks find themselves trapped in.

They stand in front of a massive door in the volcano castle, where the demon king lurks.

Dewey “Let's Dewey this!”

Webby and Huey “Yeah!”

Dewey turns around “Umm do either of you know how to open this door?”

Webby points at the door.

Dewey “It’s opening isn’t it?’’

Huey “Yep.”

Dewey “Then let go, even if it's a trap.”

Webby “Yeah!”

Huey lets out a much less enthused “Yeah...”

They walk through a big empty hall for a long time in silence. Finally they reach a room and hear a voice “Heroes, your journey will end in tragedy. Not success.”

Dewey “Come and fight us then!”

Mysterious voice “Oh I will, fight you Dewey.” a door opens up in the room “Your friends can’t join us or save you. Muahahaha!”

Huey “I have faith in you Dewey.”

Webby “You can Dewey this!”

Dewey “Thanks guys.” as he goes through the door, it dramatically closes behind him.

A figure appears from a portal. “I’ll kill these two.”

Webby gets into a combat stance. “Not if I have something to say about it.”

Huey “Yeah, go Webby!.”

The Demon laughs “I could instantly obliterate you, mortals.”

Webby “I don’t care.”

Bricks from the wall begin to break off and float around the demon “My magic is strongest In this world.”

Webby “I’ve fought sorcerers before.”

Huey remembers how they nearly lost to Magica, and all four of them were there “We don’t have to fight...”

The Demon “Intriguing offer and I know just the game, Demon chess.”

Huey “What are the rules?”

Webby “I probably could have taken him.”

Huey “We don’t know his power level. But I do know that games are designed to be fair, so statistically we have the best chances of winning.”

Webby “Well I do trust you. So I’m game.”

The Demon laughs again “The rules are the same as your chess, But! Every time you move a piece, each tile on the board will move up or down. Pieces can only move to tiles on the same level as their tile.”

Huey “May I do some tests on the board?”

“Yes, you have 30 minutes.”

Huey moves a pawn forward once, then back once. Writing things down in his notebook. Next he moves an enemy pawn in front of the one he has been moving, and captures it. After that he moves a different pawn. He looks horrified “I’m sorry Webby but we can’t win...”

Webby “Umm, why? Does it randomly move?”

“Sadly, no. Every piece moves the tiles up or down constantly the same, but it’s different depending on where they move them to. The Demon has likely played this game before... Me or you can’t beat him. Maybe my brothers could; Dewey would do something dumb and win anyway, and Louie would cheat somehow...”

“Huey, you're one of the smartest guys I know. So win the game.”

“Being smart can’t help me win this game.. But I’ll try.”

The Demon “If you two are done. We have a game to play!”

Back to Dewey as he enters a circle room with four pillars. On the opposite wall is a throne with the demon king on it. He dramatically gets up and unsheathes one of his swords. “Now die.” with blinding speed he charges at Dewey.

Dewey just barely blocks the king's attack. The demon simply slashes again, giving him a small cut.

“You barely know how to weld that weapon, and you think you can beat me?” he goes for another attack.

Dewey blocks again, then he runs behind a pillar trying to check his breath.

The demon cuts through the pillar “there's nowhere to hide.”

“Can’t I catch a break...”

“Already at your limit? But we’ve only just started.”

“No, just warming up!” he attacks, and gets blocked easily.

“You're starting to bore me, hero.” he rapidly cuts and jabs but with less effort.

Dewey blocks most of them, and when he is hit none of the cuts go very deep.

Back to Huey and Webby in the middle of a demon chess match. The demon has only lost a couple of pieces. Huey, on the other hand, has lost almost all of his pieces.

Webby “don’t give up Huey...”

“statistically I’m two or less moves from losing. I don’t see how I can win this.”

“The red one understands. There's no way to win against me.”

“Fine, if you're giving up, then I will keep playing for you.”

Huey “That would be way worse...”

Webby sits down angrily “I’ll just wait for you to lose then.”

“Yeah…” Huey says as he moves a pawn forward.

The demon laughs, taking the pawn with a rook “This has been more fun than just killing you! Go ahead and make your final move.”

Huey stares at the board for a long time “Where to go...”

Webby gets up and looks at the board, she doesn’t really know where to go. Maybe Huey was right, he couldn’t win the game... “Are you going to let him win?”

Huey “No...” though he can’t see an obvious way out after a while he says “I found something... but what if I’m wrong..?”

Webby “Just do it, do I really need to say that I have faith in you?”

“You're right!” he moves his last knight, the tiles move putting the king in checkmate!

The demon “WHAT! Impossible... I’ve never lost…. But it doesn't matter, I can still kill you.”

Before Huey has time to be shocked. Webby kicks him in the face knocking the demon out.

“That felt anti-climatic.” Huey says relieved.

“Good job on your game though.”

“Thanks, good job with the kick.”

Back to Dewey in the midst of an epic battle.

“You're getting slower, hero.” the demon mocks.

He tries to think of a plan ‘There may not be a way to win, If I can’t even land a hit on him... Come on, think Dewey, think... Every time I attack he hits me. It's like those fighting games where moves have end lag- if the enemy donges or blocks it, they get a free hit on you. I should do that to him.’

When the demon king attacks, Dewey blocks and counters, grazing him.

“Just because you hit me doesn’t mean you’ve won.”

Dewey smilles. Backing up next to a pillar “Well we’ll see about that.”

The king enraged, attacks again with much more power.

This was a part of Dewey’s plan. He runs behind the pillar letting it block the attack. Next he counters stabbing the demon.

“How dare you Hero.” he unsheathes his other sword.

“Oh come on!!” Dewey yells.

The king charges at him, and Dewey is back on the defensive.

Unable to block all the attacks, he gets covered in more cuts, scrapes, and stab wounds. The impossible situation he found himself in just got worse. As he blocks blow after blow, he realizes the only way to win is to pull a hail mary. He attacks, it gets blocked, but he just keeps attacking “I’m the daring one, I don’t think to win, I just win!”

The demon is taken aback by his ferocity and goes on the defensive.

Dewey suddenly stops out of breath.

The king laughs “good try. Now die.” and goes in for the killing blow.

Dewey, instead of running or blocking, charges. Stabbing the demon, who also stabs him. They fall to the ground “how could a mortal beat me...”

Huey and Webby come running in. “He's hurt badly, lucky I have my nursing badge.” Huey says as he starts to patch up Deweys wounds.

Webby, obviously worried “Please let him be ok.”

Three figures come running in. The dog, the pigeon and the raven.

The dog runs to Dewey and places her hands on him. Green light washes over him, and his wounds are healed. “Thank you, hero Dewey.”

Huey sighs in relief “No thank you, I couldn’t keep him alive for much longer.”

Webby “maybe we shouldn’t have left them?”

The pigeon “He saved our land, Not that I care or anything.”

The raven “Now you can stay with me forever.”

Webby “Nope, we made the right choice.”

Huey “We’re going home now.”

Webby “yeah… Umm, how do we go home?”

The raven “Lucky you can’t, so he can stay with me forever.”

The two ducks look shocked and Huey asks “so you lied to us?”

The pigeon “You never asked.”

Dewey's eyes slowly open, instead of beaning home in a comfy bed he’s on the floor of the demon king's castle. With Huey, Webby, and the three weirdos that were supposed to be his companions. “Ugg, why are they here?”

The dog “Oh, thank goodness you're ok hero Dewey.”

Pigeon “I thought I lost you! Not that I care or anything.”

Before the others can say anything the three ducks are teleported back to their world, into Violet's room. “Nice, going Violet.” Louie says, running up and hugging his siblings.

Dewey “I’m sorry guys this was all my fault.”

Huey “We don’t really know that, but I still forgive you.”

Webby “It was an adventure and that's what the McDucks are all about!”

Louie “I’ll forgive you, even though I missed an Ottoman Empire episode.”

Violet “glad you three are safe, though you are covered in blood.”

“I almost died.” Dewey says proudly.

Violet “With that much blood loss you should have died.”

Dewey “But I didn't.”

Huey “We'll explain everything.”

Louie “I mean we have all night. By the way we’re doing a sleepover.”

Webby “YES!”

Violet “Though there is not much room here.”

Webby “None of us mind.”

Louie “I do a little..”

Dewey “I feel like I could sleep forever.”

Huey “Please don’t..”
