Summary
Humans know that all Witchers are Dominants. They're big, broad and strong. They walk the Path and kill monsters with no mercy or remorse. Some say that they don't even feel emotion. There's no way that any of them could ever be a Submissive.
Witcher candidates are taken before the age of five. They face the Trial of the Grasses by age twelve. Most people begin to discover their orientations between the ages of thirteen and sixteen. Witchers are mutated to be more than human, but they start out just the same as everyone else. Some Witchers are Submissive but the Path is difficult and dangerous. Half of any graduating class will die the first year they walk it. There are many humans that would rather spit on them than help them. Submissive Witchers are taught to hide their orientation for their own safety. There are those in the world that would harm them.
Of course, not all humans are awful. Some are welcoming and helpful. Some will walk beside a Witcher all their days and offer nothing but aid and succour. If Geralt can bring himself to trust the kindness of a human, he may just find something he never knew he wanted.
