"Heather what do you think of kids?" Veronica sawyer and her wife of 3 years were sat at the kitchen island, she was eating breakfast while Heather was looking through her phone, being a demon, heather didn't eat much food but she always joined Veronica when she ate just to keep her company.
"kids are alright I guess, why?" Heather looked up from her phone to a blushing Veronica stirring her cereal around the bowel "I was just thinking that maybe...maybe one day..." she drifted off and Heather stood up and moved to behind her wife and kissed her "Veronica, do you want kids?" she smiled against her neck and Veronica nodded "I've always wanted kids and I think we'd be great parents, don't you think?"
Heather spun her skinny chair around to face her and she smiled wide at her wife "I've always wanted kids too babe, but with the obvious lack of organs I can't carry them"
Veronica beamed "I'm happy carrying them! We'll start with one and then see what happens okay?" Veronica was close to happy tears and the blonde picked up her wife up sitting her on the counter and kissed her hard "such a shame we can't practice for kids huh?" heather kissed down veronica's neck and Veronica hummed "but we can pretend can't we?"
Heather nodded "hell yeah we can" she picked her up again and carried her to their bedroom, Heather knew married life would be awesome and so far she was right.
"Heather!" Veronica was in the bathroom when Heather found her sat on the floor with an unreadable expression on her fave, Heather fell to the floor and rubbed veronica's knees "babe are you okay? What happened?!" Veronica couldn't speak and she just handed something to Heather who took it and widened her eyes as she saw what it was "is this real?"
Veronica nodded silently and wiped away some escaped tears.
"We're having a baby?" Heather started crying
"yes...yes we're having a baby!" Heather pulled Veronica into a tight hug both of them crying and sitting there for hours until Heather felt Veronica go limp and she knew she had fallen asleep. She picked her wife up bridal style smiling as she remembered carrying Veronica like this after their wedding night. How did she get so lucky?.
"Heather you don't have to keep doing this I'm fine" Veronica laughed as Heather sat her down and got some pillows and blankets to make her comfortable.
"Are you kidding? No offence baby but you're huge and there's only a month left until she's here and I want to make sure everything is fine" Heather made Veronica lay down on the now filled with pillows and cushions bed and wrapped her up in blankets handing her a bottle of iced water and ice cream, which were veronica's cravings, luckily nothing too extreme for Heather to handle.
"Are you calling me fat?" Veronica laughed and Heather narrowed her eyebrows "I'm not sure what to answer with so I'm just gonna say that your chest is bigger and I like that very much" she gave a toothy grin to which Veronica laughed "I wasn't trying to trick you honey, but I know how much you like my chest now that it's bigger" Veronica kissed Heather softly but then Veronica pulled her onto the bed with her making Heather pull away "oh?" she smirked and Veronica bit her lip "again?" she asked
"It'll be the 3rd time today?" Heather rested her hands on veronica's pregnant belly admiring it like she did daily, she moved her head down and kissed the stomach looking up to veronica's face through her eyelids when she felt Veronica wound her fingers through her hair "you're a demon, pretty sure you don't get tired"
"Whatever you want mrs Chandler" Heather happily complied.
"She's beautiful" Heather whispered as she looked at the bright eyes of the newborn baby staring back at her. Heather stroked the baby's cheek and kept smiling, never in her life and her death could've she imagined being a mother, this was the happiest she'd been in a long time, the last time was when Veronica said yes to marrying her and their wedding day, speaking of Veronica, Heather turned around from the baby in her little cot and moved to the hospital bed to her sleeping wife. She sat down on the edge of the bed and kissed her cheek "well done honey, she's beautiful".
Heather heard the baby and quickly jumped up going back to the cot and picking her up gently "its okay sweetie mama's here shhh"
"Heather...." Veronica whispered and Heather smiled before turning around slowly "hey baby" she looked down at her new daughter "she started to make noises I think she's hungry" Veronica opened her arms for her daughter and Heather gently placed her down to Veronica so she could let her feed "are you feeling okay?" Heather sat back down and kissed veronica's forehead "I'm doing okay, obviously a little drained" she let out a small laugh looking down at her daughter and she started to cry.
Heather started to panic "Ronnie what's wrong, do I need to get the nurse?"
Veronica shook her head "I'm just so happy, really really happy, I love my little family" she pursed her lips at Heather who happily kissed her and then placed a kiss on her daughter's head
"Also since you don't sleep as a demon, you're gonna be the one getting up throughout the night okay?" Veronica stuck her tongue out at her wife and heather just nodded "obviously, but also if this baby does turn out to be half demon I'll be taking full responsibility because she'll be a handful"
Veronica sighed "well I guess it'll be a big learning experience for the both of us then".
The door opened and a nurse came in "how's the new mama doing?" she looked at some charts and sat down on the chair opposite the bed Veronica looking at her "I'm doing okay, obviously very tired but I'm so happy" she beamed as she looked back at her wife and the nurse smiled "perfect, well I'll leave you two to settle and get to know your baby, call me if you need anything"
"Thank you nurse" Heather shook her hand and looked back to her wife and the newest love of her life, the little bundle of joy asleep in veronica's arms "she has your little cupid bow lip" Heather said and Veronica nodded "she has your blonde hair"
Heather laughed "lets hope that's all she has from me and nothing else huh?" Veronica giggled and hugged her baby tighter "I'd still love her but when she starts drinking blood that'll be your problem"
They laughed and Heather agreed that if their baby turned out to be half demon Heather would be the one to handle that milestone.
"I've got the door!" Heather moved in front of Veronica and opened the door to let her and her baby through to the house. When Veronica got into the house she was greeted with her parents excitingly waiting to welcome her home "Veronica! She's beautiful" Veronica smiled wide and handed her daughter to her mom who cooed over the baby "what's her name?" her dad asked and Heather hugged Veronica from behind kissing her on the shoulder "she's called Bela, Bela Ann Chandler" Veronica turned her head and kissed Heather.
Veronica's mom smiled at the pair "you two are so cute" Bela started wriggling around and Veronica took her from her mother and went to take her to another room "I'll just put her down" Veronica walked through the house leaving Heather and her parents alone "so how are you doing Heather?" veronica's dad asked and heather smiled wide "I'm great! my wife just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and they're both healthy and safe, my life is amazing right now"
"What about your family? Wouldn't they like to see your daughter?" Heather awed at the two parents, her family had been dead for hundreds of years and they knew this but she still thought it was cute "you know my family is dead right? For a long long time" Heather laughed and veronica's mom blushed "oh yeah, sorry about that...I keep forgetting you're a demon or whatever"
”I mean I haven’t turned full demon for a while so it’s understandable" Heather laughed and veronica's parents gave a small laugh in response "yeah if you don't mind please don't bring that up with our other family members, we're only just getting used to it and its been 6 years"
Heather nodded "of course, as you said it has been 6 years, I know all about keeping myself a secret and doing it properly" she smiled and hugged the parents "Veronica's really excited about being a mom, but don't worry I've told her to not over do it, but I know she will when I'm not looking"
Her dad laughed "yeah she's stubborn like that" they fell into a nice conversation until Heather realised something.
"Hm its been a while I'll go and check on them" Heather excused herself and walked into hers and Veronica room to see her wife and baby asleep "Ronnie?" Veronica stirred slightly "sorry...I'm just so tired" Heather moved to the bed and stroked her hair "shh it's okay you sleep, I'll tell your parents and I'll come back okay?" Veronica nodded a little and held her baby close.
Heather left the room to go back to veronica's parents "veronica's really tired so I think she wants to be alone for now"
"I totally understand, we'll leave you alone, call us if you need any help okay?" both hugged Heather and left, leaving Heather who quickly returned to Veronica and getting into bed and moving Bela in-between them both kissing her on the head and stroking veronica's hair "I love you soo much"
Veronica sighed "I love you too, both of you so much" Veronica lulled into a sleep and so did Bela, Heather just stayed watching them sleep, still in awe of this wonderful family she was given. What a wonderful life she had and she'll make sure she spends the rest of her time on earth making sure to take care of the both of them.
