Chapter Text

A calm blue sky and a fresh intake of air. It naturally contrasts against what he knows.

He’s here again, he supposes. Though he’s never known what to call it.

The other world.

A world that isn’t his own, a place he’s constantly been in search for. Somewhere he has never been able to access of his own free will.

He wonders how long it’s been since he’s been called here. Centuries probably.

Tommy stares up blankly at the cloud, when he hears a voice.

“Hello?” A deep voice, deeper than his own calls out.

That’s new.

A person—there’s never been someone else here besides him. Not for a while. Not since he had first met him, the Green Nightmare. Even now, thinking about him sends shivers up Tommy’s spine.

He’s not afraid. But he knows well enough to stay away from that old ass cryptid.

Tommy sits up slowly and looks around for the voice, his hands gripping the golden grass tightly. The voice yells again making Tommy stand up.

He hopes that this voice isn’t in his head.

Running towards in one direction, he laughs joyously at the idea of finally meeting someone—after all these decades spent alone. Then, he sees someone and loses control of his footing.

Vision blurring, he takes a tumble.

Before everything goes dark he sees a rush of brown hair.

He wakes up to Henry the cow licking his face surrounded by pigs.

“What the—oh come on!” He whines, “I was literally there for like five seconds, what the shit!”

Five seconds longer than before, of course. But that didn’t make him feel any better.

The pigs scatter around, leaving him to pick his cape off the ground, stand up and start pacing around in a circle. Throwing his hands about childishly while mumbling angrily.

“Fuck, shit, fuck, shit. I was so close, Henry!” He drags his hands across his face.

Henry the cow moos in response.

Tommy pauses and glares. “You wouldn’t understand! You’re just a cow.”

Henry nudges him roughly.

The boy sighs, “Sorry, Henry. Didn’ mean that.” He pats the cows head.

“But, there was something different this time. Someone was there.”

Henry moos curiously.

“I know right? Weird as fuck. But it’s something and if I could just stay there longer than two minutes, maybe more will happen.”

He shakes his cape, getting rid of series of dust and dirt. He really should fucking find a lake or something to wash his clothes in, because as much as he loves his stuff, they smell like shit and Tommy doesn’t ever want to be found lacking remotely in anyway.

“Henry, it’s time for me to go. I’ll be back soon enough.” He clicks the robe around him and nuzzles against the cow who licks his cheek affectionately.

“Aye! What have I told you about slobbering over me!”

He scouts this area often, making sure there aren’t any nightmares or weird chance encounters that could ruin the peace that he’s ensured in these parts of the mountains.

Tommy has been here for a couple of years. Living in an abandoned farm accompanied by none except the farm animals that inhabit the place.

Occasionally, a nightmare or two would surprise attack him, odd travelers that’d want to build more than just a tent to stay safe for the night, and those that just wander around with empty eyes that seemed to search for fulfillment. Those types freak him out the most and he’s not quite sure why.

Walking along the flowery path, he hums contently. Pleased with the smell of nature and the light shining from the late morning sky.

Then, he hears a shout.

Ranboo! Where are you?”

Oh. Oh no. Tommy eyes widen and he quickens his pace. He inhales sharply pulling down a sleeve to look at the marks he’s neglected to check on this whole entire time.

They’ve grown and now all Tommy feels is fear because there was no way in hell that they should’ve been able to meet like this.

He was supposed to stay away.

Tommy starts dashing and he can hear the footsteps increase behind him.

“Ranboo, I know that’s you! Stop messing around.”

The boy curses silently knowing that it’s too late to try and keep a distance between them especially since the older boy has always been the faster one.

Tommy glances around to see if there’s any hope of escaping this shitty ass meeting. But despite the vastness of this forest he’s in, there’s way too many openings.

Just like in the other world, his vision blurs making him trip over himself and instead of landing on the rough, harsh ground, he’s instead pulled into strong, warm arms.

“You’re not Ranboo.” A boy with dark brown hair and gentle blue eyes stare at him curiously.

“Fuck off, prick.”

He passes out.
