Work Text:
The wind howled out into the empty night, Ramuh was witness to their foolish behavior, but as far was Noctis was aware the storm bringer did not snitch to his father about what the prince did on wet and windy nights.
Loneliness came in spades if you were Noctis, more so if you were his oldest friend, however being alone was a privilege that Ignis and the prince were hard pressed to come by. So when it did, they were quick to make use of it.
Hidden beneath the canopy under the trees in the royal garden, they let their lips intermingle for stolen moments of pleasure.
Ages sixteen and eighteen, seem so wise, but they are called children by the council and the king. With lectures on behavior and decorum coming to them every day, it took all their joint power to not roll their eyes or fall asleep on their elders words. What did they know? Age could not give them some secret knowledge that made them smarter than the hearts of youth. Wisdom was a farce and the only truth that Noctis bothered to believe in was the reality of Ignis’ tongue caressing his own.
Lightning cracked across the sky and the boys pulled apart to pant into shared air. The chill from the night sent shivers down their spines and all they could do to keep warm is pull one another closer. Let the heat of their bodies keep the other warm and trade the cold wet of the air for the hot wet of their mouths.
No one dared traverse the gardens on nights like this, where the wind whistled and the rain pierced cloth like bullets did skin. They were alone and with the mercy of being alone together, loneliness could be kissed away.
