Summary
Monday night was never a great night for a bar crowd and Tony found Malibu – despite its lackadaisical attitude and flippant advertising – was no exception to the rule. That didn’t seem to bother Pepper though as she spun the stick of cherries in her pale blue drink and downed a whole mouthful, grinning.
“What about him?” she asked, eyeing over at a buff blonde with a country boy kind of look that seemed out of place in California but somehow worked for him – ripped up, faded jeans and a backward baseball cap with a white tee.
Tony snorted and thumbed his own whiskey sour.
“You have such a type,” he accused, more sharply than intended.
