Work Text:
Mona doesn’t think she’s ever felt a healing energy quite as relaxing as this.
Granted, she hasn’t often found herself in a situation where she would need to rely on her friends’ restorative abilities. Battle doesn’t come without injuries, sure, but she rarely walks away with more than a few scratches — being able to read into the future, even if only to give her a heartbeat’s notice before an attack can land, does have its perks.
Her only comparison is Bennett, really, from a time when Fischl had asked her to join them on a more difficult commission that he had been eager to take. And difficult, it most certainly had been — Mona had taken a blow for the unlucky adventurer, but her pain was short-lived, burned away by searing flames that lapped her feet. Bennett’s heals had been a surge of boiling heat, a sharp bolt of pain that quickly vaporized into something much more soothing.
Perhaps it’s different with Kokomi because they are of the same element, and it’s familiar; it’s welcomed. Her Hydro is a cool, tingling sensation that sweeps through Mona’s body in rhythmic pulses; it relieves strained muscles, and it mends her few open wounds. Though it’s slow to do so, it soon neutralizes the Cryo that’s had her shivering violently in Kokomi’s arms, and she feels as though she’s regaining energy — with the chill no longer weighing her down, and with bruises fading quickly under Kokomi’s fingertips, Mona isn’t as exhausted as she had been just minutes before.
Even so, it’s with a blissful sigh that she allows herself to slump back into the embrace of the young priestess. She wants to enjoy this, if only for a moment longer.
“There.” Kokomi’s voice is warm near her ear, trailing off into a sweet hum as she drags her fingers through the mage’s hair. Her hand drifts to Mona’s waist — perhaps a little suggestive, but polite all the same. She rests her chin on Mona’s shoulder. “Good as new.”
