    Summary

    The Ascendancy was in terrible danger. An alliance with the evermore powerful Galactic Empire could be exactly what they needed in their fight against the Grysks. However, the ability to secure that alliance relied on a name and the Chiss who had supplied it to them. That Chiss, disgraced former officer Mitth'raw'nuruodo had to be of use to his people one last time. He was therefore to be used only as a pawn, as was Eli Vanto, a supply officer from the Empire who had no idea that his life would be thrown upside down.
