Chapter 2: Prologue

Chapter Text

Thor was talking with Miek and Korg when Loki strolled in.

“Thor, we need to talk. Alone,” Loki requested.

Thor looked up and gapped as he saw exactly who called him. “Loki? But how?”

The other gladiators quickly let the two brothers have some privacy.

“When I escaped my prison in Asgard, I decided to try starting a new life where no one knows who I am,” Loki explained.

“I see. So what do you want to talk about, brother?” Thor asked.

“I know that we have not always got along, Thor; however, in order to save Asgard, we must work together.”

Thor’s eyes narrowed at that . “What proof do you have that shows why I should trust you?”

Loki sighed. He expected that reaction from Thor. “I am afraid I do not have any. But you also have no other choice in the matter. Unless, of course, you would prefer waking up to the news of how all the citizens of Asgard have been murdered by our deranged elder sister. So here is the plan…”

Chapter 3: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

"...also I've got a peace offering."

The metal doors opened as Thor along with Bruce and Brunnhilde walked into the room. He was startled when he saw Loki sitting on the bench inside and reading a book.

"How did you manage to escape the chains I tied you up in?" Brunnhilde asked, bewildered.

"Does it truly matter how I got out? I managed to escape an Asgardian cell. A few chains are but fickle in comparison," Loki retorted.

Thor stared at Loki for a brief moment before walking further into the room and away from him.

"Hello, Bruce."

"So, last time I saw you, you were trying to kill everybody," Bruce commented. "What are you up to these days?"

"It varies from moment to moment," Loki replied. "However, I must state that I am innocent of that incident back in New York."

Thor's head abruptly shot up from the famed Valkyrie sword that Brunnhilde placed on a table to glare at Loki.

"No, you are not. You nearly destroyed an entire city. Dozens of civilians got injured and a few perished. It would have been worst if we have not put a halt to the madness that you were up to. You have no right to declare yourself innocent."

Loki just looked at Thor and shrugged. "Well, as innocent as a person who has been subjected to the influence of mind control could be I suppose."

Everyone's jaw dropped as they turned their heads to Loki's direction.

"You...you were being controlled that time. Why have you not informed me of such a case?" Thor asked. He could not believe what he was hearing. But at the same time, he knew that Loki was telling the truth.

Loki rolled his eyes. "It was rather obvious, brother. Did you know that the first thing a companion of mine spoke to me when we came across each other after I escaped from Asgard was and I quote 'Thank Merlin that you are all right. Those Avengers and that brother of yours are a bunch of dunderheads for not noticing that you were clearly put under something that resembles an Imperius. What in the name of Merlin were they thinking? Or were they even thinking? Seriously, what you did in New York was so out of character that it should have been glaringly obvious. And how come no one noticed that your eyes were blue at that time? Blue?! Stars, are they color blind as well as mentally impaired?' I have yet to speak a single word to her before she went off into a rant."

Thor and Bruce both looked to the floor in shame. Someone who wasn't even in New York at that time knew that Loki was being controlled. Yet, they, who fought him face-to-face, had not even noticed even the slightest indication that would insinuate that something was wrong with the god.

Thor felt terrible. He should have taken note of how odd his brother's behavior had been back then. They grew up together after all. And yet, he had not. However, a Midgardian who only knows Loki for several years somehow did.

"Let's get things straight," Brunnhilde said. "You were being controlled by THE mad Titan and no one besides a girl who wasn't even around when you were being controlled noticed. Ain't that shocking. And what the stars is an Imperius?"

"A type of mind control spell," Loki replied. "The companion of whom I speak of is a magus who hails from Midgard after all."

"Does that mean that there is magic on Earth? How come I haven't heard of this before?" Bruce asked, stunned at what he was hearing.

"That is mostly due to them keeping to themselves. Only high ranking government officials know of their existence. Fury probably knew as well. With all the witch hunts that went on during the past centuries, could you really blame them," Loki answered.

Bruce thought about it for a moment. "Good point."

"Since when have you been under his control?" Thor asked quietly.

"Shortly after I fell off the Bifrost," Loki replied.

Thor looked up to glance at Loki. "Forgive me, brother. I should have been faster, stronger, back then. I -"

Loki placed his hand on Thor's shoulder. "It was not your fault, Thor. I have never blamed you for not reaching to my location in time. You were busy with our uncle who let the Frost Giants in. What we should do right now is focus on saving Asgard. Lady Magnilda, the companion of whom I speak of, has a ship that can travel in hyperspeed. Also, you evidently could use some backup. Lady Magnilda is quite skilled in the arts of Seiðr and weaponry."

Brunnhilde whistled. "Wow. A ship that could travel that fast is extremely rare. Even the Grand Master doesn't have one."

Thor stared at Loki for a moment before consenting. "Very well. We shall journey to Midgard. However, I wish to speak with you for a bit at a later time."

Loki sighed. "If you must."

Brunnhilde toke another swig from her flask. "If we are using my ship, we are going to need to draw the guards away from the palace deck. That way we can get out of this place with as little hassle as possible."

"How?" Bruce asked.

"We are going to start a revolution," Thor stated. "I'll explain later."

"Who is this guy, again?" Brunnhilde asked.

"I'll explain later."

Chapter 4: Chapter 2

Chapter Text

As soon as they flew out of the tower, they were immediately attacked. Loki, Thor, and Brunnhilde took care of the attackers while Bruce drove. Once the aircraft that had pursued after them were quickly and efficiently taken care of, the three quickly hopped back into the ship.

"Guys, we are approaching the Hallow," Bruce said.

Brunnhilde and Bruce took the pilot's and co-pilot's seats respectively while Thor and Loki sat in the back. This portal, unlike the Devil's Anus, had no debris or boulders floating about.

"So how did you meet this Lady Magnilda, brother?" Thor asked.

"We meet when I traveled to Midgard two years before your failed coronation due to our uncle letting Frost Giants into Asgard," Loki replied as he looked out the window and watched the colors fly by. "I wished to observe up close the society of magus in a land that goes by the name United Kingdom. I was roaming around one of the local shopping districts when I bumped into her resulting in her bags falling and spilling their contents all over the place. Lady Magnilda was occupied with purchasing her requirements for her studies at that time. I offered to assist her throughout the rest of the endeavor as compensation for the hassle that I have caused. As the sun began to go down, we sat in a public eating place and requested for our evening meal. After having such a wonderful time together, we came to a decision to congregate every now and then."

Thor observed how Loki spoke and came to a conclusion. "Brother, are you interested in the Lady Magnilda?"

Loki coughed at what Thor had spoken. "I have the faintest clue what you are yapping about, Thor."

"I have known you for thousands of years, Loki. I know when you speak the truth and when you lie."

"If you truly did, how come you didn't figure out I was being controlled. And even if I do like her, which I most certainly don't by the way, how can I be certain that she feels the same?"

"You do. I know that you do. That is why you should ask her. You will never know until you do."

"1) I do NOT like her. 2) She would just hand my behind to me if I do like her and do ask her out. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a ship to drive."

Loki walked up front and switched places with Bruce seeing as he is the only one who knows Magnilda's location.

Thor sighed. "That did not go as well as I had hoped it would have."

Chapter 5: Chapter 3

Chapter Text

Loki lands the ship at the edge of the ward lines. Brunnhilde decided to stay behind and guard the ship. Once the three of them got out, he leads them through a path leading to the castle.

"I thought we were supposed to meet this friend of yours. How come we are standing in front of an old, abandoned castle that looks like someone hasn't been here for centuries?" Bruce asked.

"To answer your question, this is the place. As for why this place looks like a quote-unquote 'old, abandoned castle' is because it is warded to appear abandoned to those who have no magic. Once we cross the wards, you would be able to see the castle."

Once they crossed the wards, they were greeted by a beautiful castle. They continued on the path for five minutes before reaching the entrance hall.

"Now then, let us journey to the Great Hall where she is most likely as it is time for her midday meal."

He leads the three through the wing and exited into the courtyard. They then headed to the Grand Stair Case which leads them to the Great Hall.

It was lunchtime so only a few students were roaming around the halls since most were in the Great Hall. Students were whispering here and there, but other than that, the trip to the Great Hall was relatively peaceful. It was when they entered that the chaos began.

It was silent at first before whispers and murmurs slowly started circulating the hall.
Some were wondering what two members of the Avengers were doing in Hogwarts while others even held their wands as they glared at Loki.

The second one made Thor frown but Loki told him to ignore them. Thor only relaxed slightly when several students from the upper years, 4th year and above, tried to hold them off as they sneaked glances at a raven-haired woman up at the teacher's table. Although not all were held back.

That was made clear when a third-year Gryffindor attempted to hex Loki. However, before he could utter a single syllable, a white spell came flying at him causing his limbs to stiffen.

Everyone turned to the teacher's table to see Magnilda Potter pointing her wand in front of her, her body posture that of one ready to fight at any moment.

"Anyone else want to try what that idiot just did. Because next time, I won't go easy."

The younger years, those who were holding their wands out, pocketed them immediately.  The older years knew better. None of them wanted a repeat of last time. Silence descended amongst the students, no one daring to utter a single word.

"Do send a signal the next time you are visiting, Loki. We don't need a repeat of this incident," Magnilda greeted as she turned to Loki.

"My apologies, Magi. Although this is, unfortunately, not a social visit," Loki told the other ravenette.

"Of course it isn't," Magnilda sighed. "So, what can I help you with?"

"Asgard is under attack and we need your help," Loki informed her.

"What?! By who?" Magnilda asked.

"By our sister, Hela," Thor answered making Magnilda turn to him.

She stares at him for a second before she Gamengiris him, making him drop down to the floor. Magnilda quickly stood up and dusted her robes.

"Ugh." Thor groaned from where he was on the floor. It took a few moments for him to stand up again.

"Was that really necessary?" Loki asked.

"He was an idiot who didn't realize his adoptive brother was under a mind control spell so yes it was necessary," Magnilda mumbled but it seemed that everyone had heard her. "I suggest we head somewhere more private to discuss what we are to do with regards to the situation in Asgard,".

"Indeed. Shall we journey to the ship?" Loki suggested. And with that, the four left the Great Hall.

Once they had left, what just happened finally registered to everyone's brain resulting in the pandemonium to start all over again.

Chapter 6: Chapter 4

Notes:

Sorry for the chapter mix up. I already fixed it.

Chapter Text

Magnilda along with the two Avengers and one exonerated God of Mischief headed towards the ship where Brunnhilde was.

When Brunnhilde saw the quartet, she froze and stared at them. Then she shook her head, eyes blinking rapidly.

"That's it. I'm done," she exclaims as she slammed her flask on the table. "I am so drunk that I am starting to hallucinate that a dead comrade of mine is alive and standing right in front of me."

"That is because I am here. Hello again, Brunnhilde. Long time no see. And I see that you have been trying to drink your sorrows away ever since what happened 1,068 years ago," Ellen stated as she shook her head.

"But how?" Brunnhilde asked. "I remembered how you took a hit for me which is the only reason why I am still alive."

"Through a rather complex reincarnation spell. The spell itself has been safely kept inside my family grimoire," Magnilda replied.

"Wait so the rumors of your family having a reincarnation spell were true?" Brunnhilde asked, her incredulity clear in her voice.

"They are," Magnilda replied. "However, the spell itself should only be used when deemed absolutely necessary. Once your purpose for coming back is done, it wears off. The requirements for doing it aren't exactly cheap either."

"Um, could someone please explain what is going on?" Bruce asked.

"Oh. Of course. My apologies. My name is actually Magnilda Aricdottir and I, like Brunnhilde, am a Valkyrie. The only reason I had survived is through a spell that allows me to be reincarnated," Magnilda stated.

"Then you are – " Thor began to ask.

"I am. I had a feeling that Hela would return one day so I had to be ready. Through the numerous lives that I lived, I had trained in different techniques and fighting styles. I prepared myself for the day that I'll be battling her once more. This time, the outcome will be different," Magnilda answered before he even finished his question.

"How can you be certain that it will be? After what transpired last time, how —" Brunnhilde spouted but her sentence was cut midway.

"Because I trained too hard to let people down once more. I did not come back to life just to let people be murdered by that tyrant once more," Magnilda cutted in, her determination was seen in her eyes.

This caused Brunnhilde to reflect on what she had been doing the past millennium compared to her younger comrade that is standing before her. Even when she agreed to help Thor, a part of her still wanted to run. But hearing her subordinate made her realize that it was the time that she stopped running away.

"Loki stated that you own a ship that could take us to Asgard. You wouldn't mind if we used it," Brunnhilde asked.

"Not at all. I'll go get it," Magnilda states before apparating to where she parked her ship.

Chapter 7: Chapter 5

Chapter Text

While Magnilda apparated to where her ship is to drive it to where they were, the quartet was discussing what they had just discovered.

"Um, who exactly is she?" Bruce asked.

"Magnilda Aricdottir is the daughter of Aric the Immortal. Her father once journeyed on many dangerous escapades alongside our father. He was named such because he has gone on many dangerous excursions that normally would lead to a person's death but he comes back alive. That is how the rumors of her family possessing an immortality spell came to be," Thorn told his friend.

"Ok. Her father is quite famous. But how do you know her name?" Bruce asked.

"Let me finish first, my friend. Now Magnilda has inherited her father's fighting spirit and was made the youngest Valkyrie there ever was. She was also a talented sorceress, second only to my mother back in her days. Sadly, she didn't live long, well in her first life. The battle that caused the Valkyrie's demise had happened when she was only thirty-seven years of age," Thor continued.

Bruce was shocked that the petite girl who somehow managed to dropkick Thor into the floor was actually quite famous and had to die a tragic death at such a young age.

Before he could say anything though, a loud noise could be heard from above. They looked up and saw the ship. It was definitely bigger than their old ship and could help them in evacuating the citizens of Asgard.

"Wow," Bruce said as he stared at the ship.

Magnilda landed the ship and lowered the ladders letting the others onboard.

Magnilda spins the pilot's chair around to reveal her wearing her Valkyrie uniform.

"Before we go to Asgard and attack, we need to have at least some sort of plan," Magnilda said.

"Since you two fought Hela before, what should we prepare for?" Thor asked.

"Well, there is her army of undead and her pet, Fenris," Brunnhilde said.

"Fenris? You mean the giant dog in the myths. It's real?" Bruce asked.

"It is. I believe that you and Brunnhilde would be able to manage. Thor and Loki will deal with the army and help the citizens  –" Magnilda began explaining the plan but Thor interrupted her.

"I will try my best but I am so sorry, Lady Magnilda. Without my hammer, I wouldn't be of much help." Thor interrupted. This caused Magnilda to glare at him and whack him hard in the head.

"Ouch. What was that for, Lady Magnilda?" Thor asked.

"One, you interrupted me. Two, you are an idiot. Are you Thor, the God of hammers? Just like how Midgardians use wands to conduct their magic, so did you. Your hammer was merely meant to conduct your powers. It was never the source of them," Magnilda stated.

"I –"

"Wait a second. Magnilda, are you going to face Hela alone?" Loki asked.

'Please say no.'

<span;>"Magnilda, please don't do this. I don't know if I can handle losing another comrade," Brunnhilde stated.

<span;>"If I don't do it, then who will face Hela?" Magnilda asked.

<span;>"Couldn't I be the one to fight her instead? Or you could at least bring someone else with you?" Thor asked.

<span;>"No. There was a reason Loki decided to come get me before you guys went there. I have the most advantage against Hela, Besides if we all go, we are leaving the citizens vulnerable," Magnilda said as she glanced at the bottom of her right arm where the symbol of the deathly hollows rests.

Chapter 9: Chapter 7

Chapter Text

While Magnilda was walking through the castle, she saw the bodies of dead soldiers that littered the floor. As she neared the throne, she also saw the rubble that littered around the throne. As she stared at the painting that was once on the ceiling, she heard footsteps approaching. She got into a defensive position as she looked up.

"Hela," Magnilda growled.

"You're alive," Hela stated, showing only the slightest amount of shock on her face.

"And you have been quite busy while I was gone," Magnilda replied.

"So the rumors are true then. Doesn't matter. I'll just kill you again and again just like how I killed those pesky comrads of yours."

Magnilda growled as she charged at the goddess of death. Hela made swords appear and shot them at Magnilda which she dodged. Magnilda tried to aim for Hela's side but Hela made a sword appear forcing Magnilda to jump back.

"Serpentorsia."

Dozens of snakes emerged and headed towards Hela. Hela quickly made swords appear and killed all the snakes. However, while Hela was distracted by the snakes, wings sprouted out of Magnilda's back and she charged again. She managed to slash Hela in her back with her sword. Hela retaliated by kicking her causing her to launch through the castle wall.

"Is that all you could do?" Hela taunted.

"Not even close."

Magnilda got up and used her powers to make a creates a bunch of floating icicles and lanches them at Hela which she easily cut through. She soon realized that they were only a distraction as Magnilda stabbed her right shoulder with her sword.

"Why you little brat," Hela growled as she she pierced Magnilda's side before kicking her again causing Magnilda to drop her sword.

Magnilda used her wings so that she won't be launched far and quickly regain her balance. She hissed as she iced her side causing the bleeding to stop. She used her powers to cause the temperature in the room to drop while creating a trident made out of ice.

Just as she was about to charge again, Thor, Brunnhilde, and Loki arrive.

Chapter 10: Chapter 8

Chapter Text

"What are you guys doing here?" Magnilda asked.

"You may be the one, but your not the only one," Loki told her.

"Exactly. You don't have to fight alone," Brunnhilde said.

"Thanks, guys. But what about the citizens?" Magnilda asked.

"All of them are safe now," Thor replied.

Earlier on

Skurge was leading Hela's army of corpses that Hela realived with the eternal flame when the others dropped down from the ship onto the Rainbow Bridge.

"Welcome home. Saw you guys coming," Heimdal said.

"Of course you did," Loki replied.

Together they all fought the zombies when suddenly a loud growl was heard. Everyone looked up and saw Fenris.

"I think we might need something bigger for that stupid dog," Brunhilde

"I'll take care of him," Bruce said.

"You?" Brunnhilde asked, wodering how he would be able to deal with the monstrous dog.

"Just trust me," Bruce said before he transformed into the Hulk and tackled Fenris off the bridge.

Brunnhilde looked shocked for a moment before refocusing on her fight.

"Get the citizens on the ship. We will take care of them," Thor ordered.

People began scrambling towards the ship while the trio fought against the zombies. Because of all the chaos going on, Skurge managed to sneak on board the ship and hid among the citizens.

The engines were started and the ship was starting to rise when it suddenly shook. They all look to see that some of the zombies managed to stack up and form a tower that reached the wing of the ship while other zombies are climbing on top of them. A few have even entered the ship causing people to scream.

Thor was about to electrocute the zombies with his lightning when Skurge started shooting the zombies on the ship and shrugging off his cloak.

"For Asgard," Skurge said before jumping off the ship and shooting the zombie pillar causing ut to collapse.

Skurge kept on shooting until he ran out of bullets. He used his gun as a spear instead and continued fighting but was quickly overpowered. Luckily Thor saved him.

"I'm so sorry your majesty," Skurge apologized.

"You made a grievous mistake against the kingdom of Asgard and its people but what matters is you chose to do the right thing in the end," Thor told him. Soon all the zombies are dead again. Bruce also tossed Fenris over the waterfall.

"I know you guys are worried about her, especially you Loki, so go. We will keep watch in case anything else comes," Bruce stated. The three then left for the castle.

Chapter 11: Chapter 9

Chapter Text

Even with the help the other three, fighting Hela was still a difficult task. After some time, Magnilda managed to get close enough to Hela to freeze her hair which Thor promtly struck with his lightning causing it to shatter.

But even without the use of her hair, Hela still fought hand-on-hand. Despite relying on her shape-shifting hair a lot, Hela was actually quite skilled. It took two more minutes before Magnilda was finally able to deal the finishing blow.

"She's dead," Thor said.

"Finally," Brunnhilde sighed.

Suddenly a scream echoed throughout the room. They looked to see Magnilda on the floor, gripping her right arm.

"Magnilda," Loki shouted as he proceeded to run over to the his friend but was thrown back by some kind of force field.

(A/N Loki, don't you f-ing dare pull an Adrien on me.)

The screams got louder and louder as her appearance started to change.

Her new outfit

Once Magnilda's transformation finished, her screams did down. With unstable legs still trembling from the pain she just went through, the transformed female stood up.

Seeing that the ravenette needed help and that the barrier was probably gone, Loki went to her sideand helped her walk towards the others.

"What happened just now?" Thor asked.

Chapter 12: Chapter 10

Chapter Text

"Are you guys aware of the Deathly Hollows?" Magnilda, who's voice was hoarse from screaming, asked.

Thor and Brunnhilde nodded while Bruce looked confused.

"Hush. I'd do the talking. You rest your voice," Loki chided her.

This caused Magnilda to glare at Loki who gave her a deadpan look. After a while, she sighed and relented.

"What are these Deathly Hollows that you guys are talking about?" Bruce asked.

"The Elder Wand, the Invisibility Cloak, and the Resurrection Stone, also known as the Soul Stone. Three powerful magical artifacts that if collected would make one the Master of Death," Thor answered.

"What many are not aware of is that if you do collect them, you are able to challenge the God/Goddess of Death for their position," Loki told them.

"Wait. Does this mean that Magnilda is now the Goddess of Death?" Bruce asked.

Magnilda nods her head.

"Congratulations, Lady Magnilda. You deserve it," Thor told the ravenette.

She smiled at him, silently thanking him.

"How did she find them though? The Deathly Hollows are scattered all across the universe." Brunnhilde asked.

"The family she resurrected into in this lifetime are the guardians of the cloak. The wand was found by a sorcerer from Korbin who tried to invade Midgard but was thwarted by a group of Midgardian witch nearly five centuries ago and since then the wand has been passed around before she ended up being it's owner. And no one is sure how the stone got to Midgard since it was supposed to be in Vormir." Loki answered.

"So, she is carrying all these super powerful magical items with her?" Bruce asked.

"Oh no. She returned the stone to Vormir. She considered the wand to be too powerful so she burnt it and put the ashes into a container which she dropped into the Mariana Trench. She does keep the cloak in a pocket dimension she can easily access though," Loki answered.

Magnilda looked out the window before clapping her hands. Once she gained everyone's attention, she pointed outside.

"Right. We should begin journeying back to the ship," Thor said.

Magnilda was about to begin walking when Loki suddenly pulled her up and carried her bridal style.

Magnilda glared at Loki who just chuckled.

"That glare isn't going to work on me, Maggie. Besides you should rest. You are the most injured among us after all," Loki told the ravenette.

Magnilda just huffed before deciding to lean against chest and close her eyes.
