Work Text:
Okuyasu allowed his eyes to fall shut, leaning back against the bar behind him and sighing softly. He lifted his alcoholic beverage to his lips and easily tossed it back, letting out a deep sigh. As much as he loved Saturdays and coming to the bar during them, it was often boring. And lonely. The downside of being a loner, he presumes. He quietly tsked to himself and lets his eyes fall back open. Well, at least the music was decent. It was really upbeat and lots of people were dancing on the dancefloor. He could get why, it's definitely dancing music and a lot of people are probably decently tipsy, it only makes sense that lots of people would let loose. Hell, even he himself is a bit on the drunk side, but he isn't the type to dance. Well, not in front of people, at least. He's got two left feet-- It was too embarrassing to dance in front of others. He didn't like people watching him fumble and stumble over his own feet and keep no rhythm to the music. He prefers to do it in private.
Okuyasu opened his eyes back up, deciding it probably wasn't the smartest thing to lose himself in his mind at a place like this. His gaze drifted towards the dance floor, just curious and wanting to scope out who was there. His eyes nearly immediately landed on this one boy who seemed to be practically under a spotlight. Well, to him at least. The people around him didn't even seem to take any notice, but god damn. The boy was just-- so pretty. His hair was pulled up into a tight, very neat looking pompadour, which was a little out of fashion at this point, but god, it fit him so well. The boy's eyes were shut in a blissful looking happiness and he was wearing a wide smile. His body was moving so gracefully yet somehow still loose. It was mesmerizing to watch. The way his hips swayed and his body followed effortlessly along. Not to mention his outfit! He gets it in the 21st century, but he wouldn't have the confidence to be able to wear something like that in public. He was wearing a mid-thigh black flowy skirt which twisted and hit his body with each rock of his slender hips, a semi-translucent white, oversized shirt and a deep striking black and red corset overtop of it which only proved to exaggerate his beautiful features. He wouldn't say it out loud, but he looks just-- stunning in every sense of the word.
Okuyasu swallowed dryly, watching the mystery boy's body sway and rock beautifully with the rhythm of the music, unable to pull his gaze from him. It was then that the other man's eyes fluttered open and darted immediately to Okuyasu's gaze. He must've been able to tell that he was being stared at. As soon as their eyes locked, okuyasu flushed a bright red and the mystery man smiled, gently drawing his gaze from okuyasu and shutting his eyes again. Okuyasu's mouth fell open before he snapped it back shut, gently scooting off of the stool he was sitting on. He-- he really wanted to go and talk to that man. He has to.
Right as Okuyasu tried taking a step in his direction, he felt the watch on his wrist vibrate and he looked down, cursing with a deep frown and looking at it. Fuck. He had to go. He flashed that dancing boy just one last look before turning away and heading out of the bar to get home. He needed to feed his cat and do a little paperwork. So annoying. He would definitely come back the next day to actually go up and talk to him!! Okuyasu grinned, seeming determined as he nodded to himself, stuffing his hands deep into his jean pockets.
--------
Okuyasu, just as he told himself he would, had returned to the bar the next day. He had sat in that exact seat and kept his eyes on the dancefloor the entire night, but no matter how much he looked.. He just couldn't find that boy. He scoffed to himself, seeming frustrated with this fact and allowed himself just a drink or two more than he would have normally gotten. Okuyasu had then proceeded to go back home after waiting until nearly midnight. Once there, he sighed hard, locking the door to his apartment and making his way deeper into the house. He removed his leather jacket from his body and tossed it onto the couch, stretching his body and groaning softly as his bones pop and crack before they relax. That was much better. He rubbed his eyes and made his way immediately to his bedroom, kicking off his shoes and crawling up onto his bed. He didn't believe that he had enough energy to shower tonight or even change clothes. He felt too tired. Okuyasu rolled over onto his side and pulled up his knees a little, shutting his eyes and hugging one of his pillows to his chest. His mind quickly drifted to that boy from yesterday. The image of how he moved and how stunning those bright ocean blue eyes were stained into his brain. He wasn't complaining though. It brought him a sort of comfort-- in a way. It was really nice. His thoughts drifted to that boy approaching him. He imagined that his voice was as soft as butter and sweet as honey as he reached out and asked him to dance. He imagined himself agreeing and taking the hand. He imagined pulling the boy close to himself, wrapping his arm around that lithe waist and pressing their bodies tight together as they move in perfect sync and danced together to some sort of imaginary song.
Okuyasu found himself smiling and easily drifting off into a peaceful sleep at the calming thoughts.
------
Okuyasu had been visiting the bar every day by this point. He was still trying to find that boy. It's been about a month by this point. He had come to learn that the boy visited every Tuesday and Saturday at the same time. Okuyasu had obviously originally planned to go up and talk to him when he had seen him, but he had chickened out. He couldn't go up there and talk to him with his dancing skill being as low as it was!! That would just be embarrassing!! He didn't wanna make a fool of himself!! Especially considering how much he had found himself captivated by this boy. Every time he's seen him, that boy always takes notice of him and gives him just this tiny, cutest smile before turning his attention elsewhere. That means he's interested too-- right? That definitely means he's also interested. The other people of the club seemed to have taken notice of him as well, as everyone was always watching him by this point. He felt special-- knowing that the stranger always chose to look at HIM. It made his heart feel all flippy and melty.
Unfortunately, okuyasu always had to leave before he could ever get to see that boy finish his dancing. But, he didn't much mind. By this point, Okuyasu had been attempting to train himself. He started taking online dance tutorials, and he thinks he's doing an okay job by this point!! He’s no longer stumbling messily over his own feet and has learned to keep the rhythm of the music with his movements. Obviously, he wasn't nearly as good as that boy. He doubted he ever would. But it was a start!! And he was really proud of himself!!
Okuyasu was currently in the bathroom, having started up a shower and stripped himself of his clothing. He turned on his phone and pulled up his music playlist, smiling stupidly when the music began to play. He started to sway with the beat and very carefully allowed himself to get lost in the music. He was doing this while waiting for the shower water to heat up. After a few minutes, he pulled himself out of his little daze and looked to his shower, carefully getting in and letting his muscles relax under the hot stream. He was still smiling like an idiot, gently starting to sing along with the music and shutting his eyes. He started imagining again. He imagined calling out the boy's name, which he bets is very very pretty sounding. He would wrap his arms around the boy's body and pull him close. He thinks it would be dark out and pouring rain, but that wouldn't stop them. He thought of how they would sing and dance together without any care in the downpour and find warmth in each other's company. They would dance outside for hours and hours until they were both out of breath and exhausted.
Okuyasu's cheeks flushed gently when he imagined them sharing a soft kiss at the end of it all.
------
A few more months had passed by now and okuyasu had continued to steadily get better and more determined to get good enough to dance with that boy. By this point, Okuyasu figured that he was good enough to stand at least a little bit of a chance to dance with that boy. He was confident in it!! Okuyasu looked at himself in the mirror and carefully checked himself out. He was wearing a form-fitting vest corset that was a deep blue and black color, a small bit of shimmer in the material. He was wearing a black long sleeved shirt underneath. He was also wearing nice yet still loosely fitting black pants to go with it. It WAS one of the more classy type clubs after all, so it's not strange to dress up to go. Okuyasu exhaled deeply to himself and smiled at his reflection. Today is the day he's going to do it!! Okuyasu very very quickly made sure he smelled nice and his teeth were brushed. He had also pulled his hair up into a small pompadour to match that boy’s. It wasn't perfect, not by any means, but he found himself rather enjoying the hairstyle just in general. Okuyasu then headed out the door, confidence in his strides.
After a much quicker walk than normal, he had arrived at the club and made his way inside. He went to his usual spot on his stool and ordered a couple of drinks to get himself just a little buzzed first. He glanced over at the dancefloor, smiling when he saw that boy already there. He looked just as stunning as always. He was wearing this button up floral printed short sleeved shirt with the top two buttons undone. The shirt hugged his figure amazingly. He was also wearing another skirt, this one being a soft red color and pretty long. It went down to about his mid calf. Okuyasu thinks that maybe it's one of those kinds of skirts that look like a flower if you spin. Okuyasu grabbed his drinks and easily drank both of them down before pulling himself up onto his feet. He sighed deeply, taking a moment to collect his nerves before approaching josuke, keeping his steps confident just as before. He soon reached the boy and god, he looked even more beautiful from up close. He could now tell that he was wearing some soft red eye makeup and what appeared to be lipstick. He just looked really really good. He had no other way to describe him. Okuyasu then reached out, grabbing the boys wrist and pulling him over. The touch felt absolutely electric and he swore he could feel his heart bloom. He pulled their bodies flush against each other and the boy simply allowed him. He opened his eyes and glanced to okuyasu, a soft grin making its way onto his lips
“I see you've finally approached me.”
“How could I not?”
Okuyasu quickly responded, wrapping his arms around his waist and pressing his forehead against josuke's, a big stupid smile on his face.
“You’re just too pretty to stay away from”
He commented and very gently rocked with the others movements, not really paying much attention to the music right now. He was much too intoxicated with this boy to even care about that right now. The boy hummed in response and slung his arms around okuyasu's shoulders, a soft lopsided grin on his pretty, perfect lips
“Is that so? I'm surprised it took you so long to come to me then.”
“W--Well-- I just wanted to make sure I was good enough to be able to dance with you, y’know?”
The boy just laughed quietly at this confession, seeming pretty amused with it but nodding anyway. He sighed sweetly. Well, at least it seems like he was enjoying the company as well.
“Everyone’s looking at us, you know?”
“Yeah.. I know”
Okuyasu had responded, seeming just a little shy over the fact. The mystery boy seemed fine with it though. He leaned up in close, his lips nearly touching okuyasu's, his breath ghosting against the others skin
“Well-- Might as well give them a show. Care to join me in a dance?”
A big, stupid smile immedtely made its way onto his lips as soon as the question reached his ears, his face a deep red.
“Yeah..”
