When she first met him, she’d assumed Clark Kent–solid, Midwestern, unassuming, non-demanding–would favor a beer and maybe a shot on the side if everyone else was partaking. She could peg him as maybe having a craft beer if he was feeling adventurous or a whiskey sour if he was really feeling like something on ice or just wanted to seem interesting in a group setting, but she hadn’t expected anything out of the norm.
The first time they’re at a bar for an unofficial team happy hour on a Friday night and he orders an honest-to-God Shirley Temple, then, she’s thrown.
“No one drove here,” she offers. “You don’t have to DD.”
Clark shrugs, looking mildly bashful the way he usually does when anyone’s attention is focused solely on him when he wasn’t expecting it.
“I’m not really a drinker,” he says, almost apologetically, even as he accepts his drink from the bartender, the glass looking almost comically dainty in his hands, which just adds to the comedy.
Lois, though, just shrugs. Everyone needs a quirk, after all, and there are worse ones to have than not drinking.

Hello there, if you're reading this and don't have a clue who the character Daisy Sattler-Grant which I included in the character tags is, it is because this is a sort of ”continuation” of the fic Second Chances that I wrote based on my currently never ending obsession with Grantler. Thus, if you guys are not tired of my beloved post-canon storytime, I wanted to expand it a little, teeny weeny bit further.
These are a collection of one-shots, not following any particular timeline, I just placed 'em in the order the plot bunnies popped in my mind so each chapter is set either forward or backwards in time (again, //after// the end of the main story). Title is a little “like it says on the tin” each part will be following the theme of “first time” scenes surrounding the Sattler-Grant family.

Hello! I'm still being held hostage by the bonds of Nicolandria Nation and I'm hoping that this story will help me finally break free.
To be honest it's not even just the couple or them as individuals that has me in a chokehold. It's the way that their romance played out like the plot of a romance novel. The possibilities that feel tangible now that we're seeing a woman be love out loud keeps me in the fandom.
I have changed the names to Nikolai and Odessa because I don't feel 100% comfortable writing a fic without creating distance from the real public figures. Again, this is inspired by the mythos of their legendary summer romance and not at all created to speculate about the real life couple. This is pure fiction and fun!
I'm planning to drop between 3-5 chapters of snippets with the characters having new experiences. The core of the story is about Odessa leaning into giving up control and embracing the freedom that comes from falling in love.
