All Might is on his way to the lounge, later than normal. Earlier, he had asked Midoriya and Bakugou if they could meet to talk about One For All. He had found a small bit of information that Midoriya might need to know. The gaunt blonde was excited to see the boys as always and their meetings were going smoother since the boys were getting along so much better than when they started Yuuei. Well when he slid the door to the lounge open and saw his successor pinned to the green couch by the boy's childhood friend, All Might realized they get along way better than he previously thought. Of course Midoriya yelped when he heard the door open and threw Bakugou off him. The blonde grumbled as he hit the floor then scrambled to sit up, rubbing the back of his head. The two heroes in training see their idol standing at the doorway and all three blushed as the air between them became awkward.
Bakugou was the first to speak.
"Tha hell took you so long?" He asked as he got up slowly
All Might rubbed the back of his thin neck.
"I- I was talking to Present Mic. He's hard to get away from." He chuckled awkwardly
"It's o- okay All Might." Midoriya said completely embarrassed and avoiding his mentor's blue eyes like he was ashamed of himself
He was. The feeling of being or looking disgusting to his idol was crawling over his skin, up to his throat, and choking him. He doesn’t know what he’ll do if All Might thinks he is some sort of deviant for loving who he loves.
"Apologies for running late boys." All Might he bowed his head but didn’t move from the door
Bakugou plopped on the couch.
"Ya could've fuckin’ knocked." He grumbled, the tips of his ears were still red
All Might stepped into the room, clearing his throat.
"I wasn't aware I had to, my boy, otherwise I would have." He told him
Midoriya couldn’t take it anymore, he shot up from his seat and bowed deeply.
"I- I'm sorry All Might!" The smaller blurted then started to ramble when he stood back up
"We thought you weren't going to show up today and so Kacchan and I were just talking then talking lead to kissing and kissing went to heated kissing and then I lost my balance and fell backwards on the couch-"
"Nerd, shut up!" Bakugou shouted, pulling Midoriya to sit back down
"Boys." All Might said, but was ignored
"Oh god, I just said what we were doing. PDA isn't allowed on campus! We're going to die if Aizawa-Sensei finds out or worse, get expelled!" Midoriya panicked
"Seriously?" Bakugou pinched the bridge of his nose
"Boys?" All Might said again
"I'm so sorry Kacchan. This is my fault. I kissed you first. I shouldn't have started it!" Midoriya cried
"Oh my god Deku, will ya cram it!" Bakugou barked, annoyed at Midoriya's panic muttering
"But-" The smaller tried to argue
"Boys!" All Might said louder
"What?!" Bakugou and Midoriya looked towards All Might then shrunk back like they just remembered he was there
"What are you panicking for?" All Might questioned as he slid the door closed
"I ain't panickin'." Bakugou crossed his arms looking to the side
"Well K- Kacchan and I are both boys, PDA isn't allowed on campus, and I'm your successor. You m- must be so disappointed in me." Midoriya looked down at his hands ashamed again
He swallowed hard trying to suck up the tears that kept falling out of his green eyes.
"Deku..." Bakugou looked over at the smaller
A grimace was on his face like it pained him to hear Midoriya speak like that.
"I'm sorry All Might, I know this is probably gross to you." The shorter said his eyes welling up more
That seemed to offend Bakugou.
"Oi, are you sayin’ I'm gross!" He questioned with his fists to his sides
Honestly he was just trying to get the other to not think about it anymore. He knew what Midoriya was talking about. He’s felt that way about himself before and a lot of people feel that way about people like him.
Midoriya shook his head.
"No Kacchan, never. Kacchan is sugoi, but... being gay or even bi in my case is... taboo here." He said quietly as he looked down a his scarred hand
"Young Midoriya." All Might spoke up as he stepped towards the smaller only for Bakugou to step forward to stop him
"Look old man. If you have a problem with it, you can take it up with me." Then shorter blonde said as he stood between the older and Midoriya
All Might could see fear in his eyes yet there was also determination. That was probably there because he had planned to be Midoriya’s shield.
All Might shook his head furrowing his brows.
"Young Bakugou, I-" He tried to argue, but the explosive blonde interrupted him again
"I ain't lettin’ you trash Deku for it, alright? He's had enough of people being shitty to him." Bakugou told his idol trying to be brave because Midoriya needed him
All Might chuckled.
"If you two would let me speak, I would tell you that it's not a problem."
"What?" Bakugou and Midoriya's eyes went wide
They both seem very shocked and honestly it hurt All Might just a little. Granted this was never a topic you just bring up so of course the two wouldn’t know he stance on it.
All Might sighed and looked past Bakugou to the window.
"Boys, I've seen a lot of things and have been in some pretty horrible situations. A boy kissing a boy is not a big deal to me." He said looking between the two
Bakugou stepped back looking to the side with red tinted ears. He didn’t say another word after he crossed his arms. He didn’t really know what to say, what was he even supposed to say to that? Thanks for not being homophobic because you’re my idol and that would hurt like a bitch to find out? Yeah no, he’s not saying a word.
"Re- Really?" Midoriya asked, still shocked as he stood back up to stand next to Bakugou
All Might shrugged.
"You two have to fight so hard at such a young age when you shouldn't have to yet and with the way things are right now, it doesn't look like that's unfortunately going to change." He sighed
"So if you two can find happiness in each other then I of course have no problem with it." All Might reached out and placed his hands on their shoulders
"Tch- ya got my guard up for no damn reason." Bakugou frowned petulantly
All Might gave a soft smile.
"I'm glad you were protecting Young Midoriya." He patted the blonde's shoulder then let his hands fall to his side
Bakugou frowned up at his idol.
"Obviously I would, who tha hell do you think I am?" He threw his hands up
"Kacchan, don't be rude." Midoriya scolded
"Shuddup, Nerd." Bakugou rolled his eyes
"Make me." Midoriya fired back making All Might chuckle as he moved to sit in his normal spot
"Boys, why didn't you tell me? Do others know?" The older asked Midoriya looked down at his hands as he turned towards All Might
"Um... we thought you would disapprove." He answered as Bakugou sat next to him
All Might looked down too and felt remorse for not making things more clear. There just wasn't enough time and they had higher priorities.
"That's understandable I suppose, but I really don't mind and besides, it shouldn't matter what I think. If you two are happy that's all that should matter to you." The blonde shrugged
"You think we're not gonna be upset if our idol disapproves of our relationship?" Bakugou said, bluntly as always
All Might scrunched up his nose knowing the other blonde was right.
"Right... Well then I apologize that I made you feel like you couldn't tell me." He looked over to them
"It's not that serious." Bakugou rolled his eyes
All Might frowned sternly.
"My boy it is. I'm your mentor, your teacher, and you look up to me. I need to be a good example. I need you to feel comfortable enough to tell me anything you want or need to, otherwise I have failed to do my job."
Midoriya shook his head.
"All Might, you didn't fail."
All Might chuckled sadly.
"You boys are so blind sometimes." He shook his head
"I want you to know that whatever it is you two have is fine with me. If no one is getting hurt and both are consenting, then it's none of my business who you choose to be with." The older told them
"Then um... Kacchan and I are boyfriends." Midoriya blurted excitedly
"Deku!" Bakugou whipped his head towards the smaller
Midoriya only ignored him and continued.
"We wanted to tell you, we really did, but we couldn't find the right time, and we didn't know if you would be okay with it. Don't get us wrong though, we trust you it's just... some people aren't accepting and I didn't want things to go badly."
"What do you mean?" All Might questioned
Bakugou sighed.
"Kicking us out of school or shit like that." He scoffed
All Might nodded understandingly.
"I see. I don't think that will happen, but I understand. Back in my Young Age days when I was in America, I was dating David." He told the two
"David Shield?!" Bakugou and Midoriya gawked
"That's the one." All Might nodded with a fond small smile
"Wow, I- I had no idea. I need to write this down." Midoriya covered his mouth, still surprised
"Are you shittin' me?" Bakugou asked
All Might shook his head.
"No, my boy. We kept it "low key" as you kids say." He said making air quotations with his boney fingers
"We better not tell Todoroki, he'll really think Melissa is All Might's daughter." Midoriya giggled as he looked over at Bakugou
"Tch- that's not even biologically possible." The ash blonde rolled his eyes
"Well it could be, I'm sure there's a quirk that can make Mpreg happen." Midoriya told him
Bakugou scrunched up his nose.
"What tha hell, why did you say it like that?"
"I just shortened the words, calm down." Midoriya sassed
Bakugou pointed a finger at the shorter.
"Shuddup, you annoyin’ ass dweeb."
All Might shook his head at their banter.
"Young Bakugou, young Midoriya, stop arguing. Young Melissa is not my daughter." He told them
"Sorry." Midoriya looked away
"Tch- knew that already." Bakugou grumbled
All Might sighed.
"Look. I won't inform Aizawa of what I saw today however, I would like it if you wouldn't make out in the lounge."
"A- All Might." Midoriya blushed brightly
"Don't say that!" Bakugou stood up, his ears turning red
"Then don't straddle my successor on the couch." All Might retorted, crossing his arms
Bakugou face palmed.
"Oh my god! This is your fault Deku!" He accused
"What, how is it my fault?" Midoriya frowned looking up at at his boyfriend
"You kissed me first!" Bakugou told him making Midoriya stand up to defend himself
"Y- You're the one that knocked me down." The shorter pointed a crooked finger at the ash blonde
All Might watched them argue. It was their usual banter and he knew them well enough to know it didn't mean anything serious. He wonders how long they've been dating, but no matter because it seems like they're perfect for each other. Hardship after hardship, but nothing knocks them down because they continue to pull each other up when one of them falls. The blonde smiled to himself. He hopes their future will be as bright as the sun, but he really wished he hadn't caught them making out. That image is seared into his brain. This must be what it feels like when you walk in on your parents and that made All Might shivered. The three actually continued with their meeting even though it was shorter than normal. They chatted about One For All then they got up to leave when the bell rang. Midoriya left first muttering to himself about techniques he could try out to better his quirk. Bakugou however, stopped at the door watching the shorter continue on his way.
"Oi, All Might." He spoke up
"Yes young Bakugou?" All Might looked down at him as he stood just behind the other
"Thanks." Bakugou said looking over his shoulder
"Thanks for what?" All Might furrowed his brows confused
Bakugou looked back in front of him with a sigh.
"Just... thanks." He nodded once
All Might knew Bakugou wasn't one for words, but over time he's come to understand the young man without needing all the embellishments. Right now Bakugou was thanking him for being accepting of their relationship, for not judging them, for not hurting Midoriya. It probably took a lot for him to stand there and do this.
The taller blonde gave a soft smile as he sat a hand on the shorter blonde's shoulder.
"Take care of him." He said
Bakugou was quiet for a moment.
"Always have been, even when I was an asshole to 'im." He said and walked out letting All Might's hand fall off the shorter's shoulder and back to his side
The taller blonde watched him rush to catch up with Midoriya and smiled a genuine one. He was so proud of both of them. They've truly come so far in their relationship. From being childhood friends, to sworn enemies, to rivals, to friendly rivals, then to competitive boyfriends. All Might couldn't think of a better way to describe them. Competitive boyfriends just fit so well and he hoped with all of his being that this war will not take them away from each other. That's the last thing they need. Their idol has known them for a short time, but he's learned a lot about them in that short period. All Might knows that one cannot simply live without the other and the other one cannot imagine a world where the other doesn't exist.
They're two halves of a whole and they’re going to grow up to be a great duo and dominate the hero charts. They'll continue to shine like shooting stars long after All Might himself has burnt out and faded away. The new generation of heroes are quickly rising with Bakugou and Midoriya leading the way. They, along with their classmates, will inherit this world, and keep it safe just like All Might and all the other heroes have so far. So the blonde's not worried. Well he is a little, but he's confident that they will win because when one falls the other is there to pick them back up and keep them going. With that kind of support there's no way they won't win this. All Might has full faith in Bakugou Katsuki and Midoriya Izuku.
