Work Text:
You were feeling both nervous and excited.
You have been dating Porco for almost two months now and he wanted you to meet his older brother, Marcel. You knew how much your boyfriend looked up to his brother and that his opinion matters to him, so you wanted to make a good first impression.
Marcel suggested going apple picking as it’s an autumn tradition that he and Porco have been doing since they were children. Porco also told you that Marcel will be bringing his girlfriend along — making it some sort of double date which you were perfectly fine with. You were just as excited to meet Marcel’s girlfriend too.
Seeing as Porco will be coming with Marcel and his girlfriend and you had to run a few errands earlier in the day, you agreed to meet up with them at the apple farm later.
When you arrived, you saw Porco but no signs of Marcel or his girlfriend. Instead, you were greeted with the sight of Porco taking off his green bomber jacket and offering it to a dark-haired young woman you’ve never seen before.
You felt your heart pounding against your chest when you witnessed the exchange and quickly made your way over to them before she could put it on; your jaw clenched and your heart pounding against your chest.
“Y/N!” Porco called out when he saw you, his smile faltering when he saw the look on your face. “Hey, what’s wrong?”
You quickly took off your own jacket — despite the chilly autumn air— and offered it to the woman, taking Porco’s jacket back and pushing it into his arms. He looked at you with a bewildered look on his face while you plastered on a fake smile and focused your attention on the woman in front of you.
“Here, take mine instead,” you said in an overly polite tone of voice.
“It’s really not —” she started to say, but you quickly interrupted her.
“My boyfriend’s jacket is so beat-up and old, you’d look much better in mine,” you said, putting emphasis on the word ‘boyfriend’.
“Babe —”
“Besides, I have a spare jacket in my car. You can take this one, I don’t really like it anyway and —”
“Babe.”
You finally turned your attention to Porco, who had an amused look on his face. “What?”
Before Porco could answer, you heard a voice calling out Porco’s name and another name you didn’t recognise.”
You turned and saw Marcel; you recognised him from the pictures that Porco has shown you. He looked almost identical to Porco with the same hazel eyes and upturned nose. They could have been twins; save for the fact that Marcel was only a few years older and had brown hair while Porco is a blond.
Marcel approached the three of you, carrying a jacket over his arm. You furrowed your brows, confused as Marcel was already wearing one. He looked at you with a puzzled look on his face and looked at his brother as if to ask “What the hell is going on?” but the older Galliard quickly recovered and smiled warmly at you.
“You must be Y/N,” said Marcel, extending a hand for you to shake. “I guess you already know who I am.”
You shook his hand, feeling even more confused when he later leaned in to kiss the dark-haired woman tenderly on her lips until your eyes grew wide when you realised who she is.
“This is my girlfriend, Pieck,” he said. “She left her jacket in the car, so I asked her to wait with Porco while I went back to get it.”
You felt your face heat up, realising that it was just a misunderstanding, and you immediately felt ashamed of yourself. Pieck, however, just smiled kindly at you and handed you back your jacket.
“Porco was just being a gentleman and letting me wear his jacket until Marcel came back,” she said, putting on her jacket after Marcel passed it to her.
“I’m so sorry,” you said, panicking. “I-I thought —”
Pieck chuckled softly and wrapped an arm around you, squeezing you gently. “Hey, it’s okay.”
“I guess I should have given my jacket to Pieck when I went back to get hers,” said Marcel sheepishly. “I’m sorry, I understand what it must have looked like.”
Porco helped you to put your jacket back on and wrapped an arm around your waist once you’re done, chuckling softly while you felt your face heat up again.
Marcel then gestured to the apple farm. “Shall we?” he asked.
Pieck linked her arm through Marcel’s and nodded excitedly. “Yes!”
The couple walked in front, while you and Porco trailed behind. He chuckled softly and you swatted at his chest with a pout.
“It’s not funny!” you said.
“Babe, it kind of is.”
“You’re so mean.”
“Admit it — you were jealous.”
“No.”
“You just don’t want anyone else to wear my jacket.”
You attempted to pull away from him but he pulled you right back into his embrace, laughing.
“Don’t worry,” he said, giving you a tender kiss on your cheek. “You’re the only one who looks good wearing my beat-up, old jacket.”
