Lighthing up candles
For New Year's Day
A new year around the corner
New projects written down
Excited people in the streets
Countdown and cheers
Fireworks and champagne
The new year is upon us
Joy and smiles
And the families gathering
Everyone is wondering
What the next year will be like
But whatever it brings
They would get through it together
As the sun rises
Everyone gets ready
To start the first day of the new year
Full of promises
Of good things to come
And the candles burn bright on New Year's Day
