Parts of this fic is inspired by "A Soaring Romance" by enchantedlightningwrites (a beautiful and heart-waming fic really worth reading). I borrowed/adopted two or three of her tags for this one fic (I've seen a lot of people borrow/adopt other people's tags or each other's tags in recent years and thanks to that some of those tags have gain popularity all over AO3 and are used more often now) because I like them and in the hopes that they will eventually become canonized or made official (or whatever it's called). I hope those tags become popular.

Other parts of this fics (the ones briefly mentioning Past Riley/Sam Wilson and the tragic death of Sam's lover) were inspired by a fanfiction series entitled "That Others May Live (The Pararescue Boys)" by blue_spruce. You should read my bookmark for this one. I wanted to have the link to the whole series (two works) listed has an inspiration but it said "Only a link to a work can be listed as an inspiration", so apparently only links to works and not links to series can be listed as inspiration, which is stupid, someone should change that, there should be an option for links to series, so we can have one single link for a whole series listed as an inpsiration instead of having links to each individual fics in the series listed as inspiration. I was forced to do the latter and I think we should have the first option too, this is 2025 for God's sake.

Speaking of the fic series "That Others May Live (The Pararescue Boys)" by blue_spruce, there's only two works in it ("Test flights" and "How you make the new street yours") and I wanted to contact the author to ask her if she could write more, sadly the author has not posted or updated anything in the past four years, so my request for more fics about Sam's past "pre-canon" would probably fall on deaf ears because it seems that the author didn't post or update anything here in the past 4 years.

I highly recommend both of those fics (the first one is a one shot, and the second one is a series of two works), you'll find the links in my authors' notes under "inspired by".
