Work Text:
It was Christmas Eve and Jimin, well… he was broke.
It just so happened that he paid all his bills for the month a few days ago and of course, bought presents for his friends and family, which left him with no money left in his bank account nor in his wallet. It was an issue, because he was in a serious need of cash if he wanted to be able to pay for the taxi and get to the family dinner that was happening tonight.
He could, of course, run to the ATM and withdraw some little amount from his savings account. However, that screamed desperate and he was a responsible adult, sure that he could come up with something else. Other than going by his car, for example. He wanted—needed to have a few glasses of wine with his dinner and so that wasn’t even an option he wished to entertain.
Jimin was brooding on the staircase, dragging his feet up the stairs after his short walk around the neighborhood, when he heard them. His eyes opened wide in interest and with newfound hope, he jogged the rest of the way to his floor, stopping short in front of the two women.
“I can help!” Jimin offered, raising his hand and simultaneously startling both women.
The two women looked at him like he’d grown two heads, looking both concerned and flabbergasted. Jimin didn’t know them well, he could only estimate that they were around ten years or so older than him, and that they were his neighbours. It took them two seconds longer, but once they recognized him, they exhaled relieved.
“I’m so sorry, but I overheard your conversation,” he started explaining and gesticulated his hands, pointing at them first, then at himself. “You said that you needed a babysitter, didn’t you? I’d love to help.”
They exchanged a look between each other, one of them nibbling on her lip. It was the other, shorter woman, that finally spoke to him, “Are you sure? It won’t be for long but…“
She looked uncertain and while Jimin couldn’t quite blame her, because who in their right mind would leave their child with a stranger? But he really needed cash and since it was on such short notice, he was sure they’d pay him enough for a one-way taxi ride to his parents’ place.
He shook his head and smiled sweetly, flashing his trademark smile at them, knowing they stood no chance against it. “It’s not a problem at all. It’s what neighbours are for, right?” With the apples of his cheeks being in the way, he couldn’t quite see what was their answer just from their expressions alone, but then one of them said ‘okay’ and he knew he won.
Perhaps he should’ve mentioned that he had absolutely zero experience babysitting babies or kids or teens or whatever, but as he was guided inside their apartment, it quickly became apparent that it wasn’t needed at all.
Jimin stared dumbfounded, blinking every few seconds. “Is that…” he cleared his throat. “Is that a bunny?”
The woman looked at him, worried again. “Yes. I hope it’s not a problem. He’s harmless, really. He’s been already fed and will probably sleep all throughout the afternoon. He won’t be bothering you.”
That was what she said but said bunny was currently standing on his hind legs on the couch and looking straight at Jimin with an unidentified expression.
Jimin had never thought of himself as being afraid of bunnies, but there was something ominous about this one. His fur was all black, but it was his eyes—deep blue but with a mix of grey—that despite being beautiful, gave him an eerie feeling. His droopy ears were extremely adorable, though.
Jimin looked at the women, shaking his head again. “Of course it’s not a problem. Have fun!” ...wherever you're going because he completely forgot to ask. At least they'd be back before 6 pm and that worked perfectly for him.
He waved and watched them leave before he jerked his head towards the bunny again. He was still staring at him, but Jimin was not going to let a bunny intimidate him. It was time he established who was the boss.
“Listen here, li’l guy,” he said once he was sure the women were gone and out of earshot, taking off his coat. “I don’t know what your deal is, but you and I, we’re gonna be friends until your owners come back, okay?”
He tossed his coat on the couch and that finally made the bunny drop down on all four. Jimin noticed his front paws were thick and fluffy and they almost made him coo at him.
“I was told you’re gonna be sleeping so… I won’t be bothering you. I’ll go make myself a quick lunch, alright?”
The bunny’s eyes still didn’t leave him and beginning to feel quite uncomfortable, Jimin just turned on his heel and skipped hurriedly to the kitchen. The bunny—Jimin didn't even ask what his name was, shit—might've won this round, but Jimin was motivated to change that during the next one. After he ate, of course.
The women told him to make himself feel at home and while usually Jimin wouldn't get too comfortable, he was starving and he hoped they wouldn't mind if he made himself some scrambled eggs and fried bacon.
He was in the middle of plating when something caught in the corner of his eye. He screamed and almost dropped the pan when he made eye contact with the bunny who stood at the threshold watching him. “Jesus fuck,” he gasped, putting the pan down and clutching at his chest. “You almost gave me a heart attack.”
The bunny, obviously, didn't answer and was just standing there… existing. Jimin still felt silly, though. It was just a bunny, it made no sense he was making him feel this uneasy. Get a fucking grip, you wimp, he thought to himself, grabbing the plate with food, figuring he was going to do the dishes later. As he started walking back to the living room, the bunny followed him.
Jimin cleared his throat, trying not to think too much into it but also watching his step so he wouldn't step on the little ball of fluff. “So you're a free-roam bunny, huh? That's nice. I read somewhere that bunnies should never be kept in a cage—not all the time, at least. Good to know that my neighbours are responsible pet owners.”
He sat on the couch, careful with his plate, not wanting to spill anything. He watched as Mr Floof Butt—because that's how Jimin decided to call his new, little friend—jumped onto the couch and sat next to him, wiggling his cute nose. This time, Jimin wasn't immune to his adorableness and cooed at him.
“You're a cutie, aren't you?” he chuckled, digging into his lunch. He didn't expect for that statement to be proven wrong so quickly, but as he was stuffing himself with eggs, something very unexpected happened.
Mr Floof Butt lurched at him—oh, he was speed, catching Jimin completely off guard—and before Jimin could even react or scream like a little boy, the bunny jumped and snatched a piece of bacon from his plate.
Jimin was so stunned that for a moment he just stayed there, sort of processing what the hell had just happened. But when he saw Mr Floof Butt speeding off with bacon in his tiny mouth, he screamed and after quickly putting the plate down on the coffee table, ran after him.
“Oh my god! Don't eat that!” he yelled, not even hiding how nervous he was. “Bunnies don't eat bacon! It's gonna make you sick!”
The little shit didn't listen to him though, running so fast that Jimin could barely catch up. If there was anything he learned in the past minute or so, it was that if you didn't have necessary equipment, catching a bunny without harming them was an impossible feat. Jimin sure as hell wasn't going to hurt that sweet ball of fluff, that was why, in the end, he just dropped to the floor, completely resigned and with tears in his eyes.
Mr Floof Butt, realizing he wasn't being chased anymore, stopped as well. He stood a few steps away from Jimin, munching on the bacon, his tiny mouth working fast and swallowing the forbidden food.
“Nooo,” Jimin cried. “Please stop.”
But the bunny didn't, finishing the crunchy strip of bacon in no time.
Jimin slammed his head against the floor.
It was his first time bunnysitting and it was going to be his last for sure. Not much bunnysitting he could do if he was going to end up in jail for killing a bunny with a piece of bacon. He didn’t understand how it even happened and how careless he was. Then again, his owners told him that Mr Floof Butt would be sleeping! Yet there he was, very much awake to Jimin’s chagrin.
Jimin heard something and he looked up, ready to rush the bunny to the ER, but what he saw instead was Mr Floof Butt hopping towards him and stopping right in front of him, looking completely fine. He wiggled his adorable nose, tickling Jimin with his whiskers. The gesture melted Jimin’s heart.
Jimin sighed, still laying flat on the ground before he lifted himself a bit, supporting his weight on his elbows. “You're a little troublemaker, huh?” he said softly, carefully reaching out his hand.
The bunny didn't move away and Jimin petted him on the back of his head gently, wanting to scream in excitement when Mr Floof Butt started purring.
“You're gonna be fine, aren't you? I'd be very sad if something happened to you. Even if it's my fault and we just met… but I want you to be okay, do you hear me? So no more bacon.” He tried to sound stern, but judging by the bunny’s expression, he wasn't doing a very good job at it.
“Fine,” he said eventually. “If you don't tell anyone, I won't either. Let's keep this a secret, okay? Now c'mere and give me a kiss.”
The bunny stopped purring, shaking off his hand and pushing him away with his nose.
“No, no. For all that trouble, you're giving me a kiss, you brat.”
Jimin sat down and scooped the unsuspecting bunny—a bit surprised at how much he weighed—quickly pecking him on the forehead and putting him down, not wanting to drop him in case he attempted to wiggle his way out. However, once Mr Floof Butt’s paws touched the floor, Jimin’s eyes almost popped out of his head. That was because the bunny’s paws… they started shifting, losing all the fur until there was none left and underneath there was smooth skin and a tattoo and… oh.
A high-pitched squeak left Jimin’s mouth as he dropped to his butt, staring at the man in front of him.
Mr Floof Butt was nowhere to be seen and in his place, there was a man clad in all black leather clothing, his one arm exposed and decorated with a sleeve tattoo that was just a bunch of words in a language that Jimin didn’t know, pretty swirls and other little drawings. He had black hair and his eyes… His eyes were a shade of pretty, deep blue with a drop of grey—it reminded Jimin of angry waves during a storm. His face was full of tiny cuts and was covered in dried blood.
When the man got up from all four, twisting his neck in all directions—Jimin heard a bone crack and it made him cringe—and finally looked directly at him…
…Jimin did scream like a little boy at last and like the proud, graduated acting major he was, dramatically passed out.
It was Christmas Eve and Jungkook, well… he was fucked.
It was an annual thing they did. Every time a big celebration was around the corner, they gathered together and after assigning city districts to one another, they went to patrol those areas to make sure that the evil beings, ones they were protecting innocent and unaware citizens from, weren’t up to no good.
This year was no exception.
Jungkook had been assigned to Gangnam District, and while he wasn’t very happy about it—Gangnam was a home to an awful lot of witches and they weren’t very fond of Jungkook, the feeling was mutual, though—he was dutifully doing his rounds and making sure that all rules were respected and that no one was breaking them.
Aside from a few witches that he’d fined because they thought it’d be funny to switch up Christmas decorations to Halloween ones in a shopping mall, things had been relatively peaceful.
Not only the witches but other supernatural creatures stayed out of his way, behaving… well, normal. Which, in hindsight, Jungkook should’ve found suspicious but he hadn’t.
When he arrived at one of the office buildings to check whether the witches there were complying with the rules, he was intrigued.
The ground floor was surrounded by nothing but glass walls in the front and thanks to that, even while sitting on his motorcycle, Jungkook could see the inside clearly. The lobby was very well illuminated, but it was completely empty. That’s odd, he’d thought at the time.
The inside walls were white, including the doors and the floor—just like he’d remembered, since it wasn’t the first time he was there—and if there was one thing that had stood out among them, it was a huge Christmas tree standing tall in the centre of the lobby.
Jungkook had had a bad feeling about it, but he still had to check whether he wanted it or not. That was why he’d left his motorcycle outside and had strolled slowly inside, carefully watching his surroundings. It was when he entered inside that he’d belatedly realized that it was a trap and then…
Then he’d woken up and was struck with the brutal truth that those damn witches had turned him into a bunny. They had made him eat hay and poop all over the room! Well, no, the latter was his little revenge and he weirdly enjoyed it taking great satisfaction in it.
The hay sucked, though.
So when a pretty cutie had showed up with bacon? Jungkook just couldn’t have stopped himself from stealing a piece and devouring it before the other could catch him—not that he ever would have, Jungkook was way too fast for him. He had to admit that being a bunny had its advantages.
What Jungkook hadn’t expected, however, was for said cutie to kiss him and simultaneously release him from the curse the witches had put on him.
If it wasn’t for the fact that the pretty blond man might’ve just saved his life and that he’d passed out, Jungkook would’ve been already long gone, chasing after the witches and trying to stop them from whatever they were planning to do. But as things were now, his savior was still a civilian and Jungkook couldn’t leave him alone without making sure that he was okay.
Jungkook should call this in—he was gone since yesterday evening and his team must've been worried about him—but he didn't want to admit to having his ass handed to some witches and decided to catch them first before he did anything else.
And the pretty blond was going to help him.
…once he woke up, that was.
Jungkook couldn't stay here forever and as he finished his lunch, he went to the kitchen and made the other man a new one.
As he sat on the couch next to the cutie, he brought the plate under his nose and wafted it over hoping the sweet aroma would wake him up. Instead of a savory lunch, Jungkook had made him pancakes topped with whipped cream and some fresh berries that he'd found in the fridge.
Not that Jungkook was courting him—of course he wasn’t, not at all—but he still owed him his thanks for turning him back human, and this seemed like a nice gesture that the cutie was surely going to appreciate.
Jungkook hoped this method would work, but he tried over and over again and the man was still asleep. But just then as he was about to give up and put the plate on the coffee table, he caught the cutie’s eyelid twitch and it was the exact moment that he realized something.
Jungkook grabbed one berry off the plate and angrily shoved it into the man’s mouth. The reaction was instantaneous. His eyes opened wide, first in surprise, but then he looked at Jungkook, pissed, munching on the fruit just as angrily.
“What if I choked!?” he asked once he was done chewing and swallowing it down.
Jungkook got up, throwing his arms in the air in frustration. “Maybe you should have! I can’t believe you wasted so much of my time pretending to be asleep.” He shook his head, having a hard time wrapping his head around it. It’d been at least half an hour and this man didn’t even budge an inch. How was this even possible?
“Well, I’m sorry,” his tone clipped, he got up to a sitting position, putting his legs on the floor. “It’s not everyday that I see a harmless bunny transform into a…” he paused, going red in the face.
Jungkook knitted his eyebrows at him.
“A man,” he finished clearing his throat. “Transform into a man.”
Jungkook smirked. “Why, thank you. I know I’m hot.”
The cutie froze, his hand halfway reaching for the plate. The heat trailed from his cheeks all the way to the tips of his ears. He still looked deep into Jungkook’s eyes and deadpanned, “I didn't say that.”
He shrugged. “That's the best part. You didn’t have to.”
The man grumbled something, taking the plate and digging into the pancake.
“I’m Jungkook, by the way,” he introduced himself, watching as the cutie was munching on the berries, clearly enjoying the little lunch Jungkook had prepared for him.
“Jimin,” he answered.
A pretty name matching a pretty face, Jungkook thought.
“I’d thank you for the food,” Jimin raised the plate a little to stir Jungkook’s focus towards it, “but you ate mine so I guess we’re even now.”
Jungkook, caught red-handed, blushed as well. A bit ashamed, he looked at the empty plate standing on the table.
After a short moment of silence, Jungkook cleared his throat. He had a feeling Jimin was just teasing him in retaliation for what he had said earlier, and judging by the corners of his lips being slightly turned upwards in an inconspicuous smirk, he was right.
“Well, eat up, Jimin-ssi. You and I—we've got some very important work to do.”
Jimin stared at him, chewing slowly. He looked as if he wanted to say something.
Jungkook furrowed his brows in question, which prompted Jimin to rest his fork on the plate and sigh at him.
“You and I,” he pointed between them with his other hand that wasn’t supporting the plate, “don’t have anything to do together. I don’t even know who you are.”
“I told you. I’m Jungkook.”
With a roll of his eyes, Jimin went back to eating, seemingly ignoring him.
It was Jungkook’s turn to sigh. “I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t urgent—hell, I’m actually not allowed to ask for help from civilians. But, you seem like you have the skills to pull off what I have in mind and I could really use your help.”
“Use my help to do what?” he asked, his eyes trained on Jungkook, dipping a piece of pancake in the whipped cream and popping it into his mouth.
Jungkook’s eyes zeroed on Jimin’s lips for a split second, but he quickly shook his head and looked away.
“Save Christmas,” Jungkook answered, a bit more serious this time.
As he let Jimin digest his words, he turned around making his way towards the window. He pulled the curtains open, not really expecting to see anything out of ordinary, only to curse right away.
“What?” Jimin inquired, his voice closer than it should be.
Jungkook glanced back to see Jimin walking to him, confusion pouring out of his facial features. He stepped away, choosing to show Jimin, instead. Jimin’s eyes widened straight away and he leaped towards the window, leaning against the windowsill.
“The snow’s gone,” Jimin made the observation.
He was right, in place of falling snow, there was…
Jungkook actually couldn’t be sure what else was wrong because of the thick fog, and since they were on the fourth floor, he couldn’t even see the road below. He could, however, see what was going on above the fog and just like Jimin had said, any snow that was there—covering the rooftops and everything else—was now gone.
Jungkook decided it was a good time to explain and be more clear about what was going on. “The women that had brought you here—they’re witches.”
Jimin looked up at him, his mouth hanging open.
“There’s a small fraction of them who really don’t like Christmas. And as you can see, they’re going to ruin it for everyone else and—”
“Give us a repeat of Halloween night, huh?”
As Jungkook nodded, Jimin turned to look outside the window again. He appeared lost in thoughts and Jungkook hoped it meant that he was considering his request.
“There’s a party I need to go to. It starts at 7,” he said eventually, chewing on his bottom lip.
Hopeful, Jungkook offered immediately, “I can drive you there once we’re done.”
Jimin nodded slowly, but still not completely on board. “…and if they decide to turn me into a bunny as well?”
Jungkook gave him a once over, making notes of how Jimin’s cheeks turned a pretty shade of pink. “Shouldn’t be a problem. You look more like a baby chick to me.”
Jimin snapped his head and glared at him.
Jungkook chuckled, rubbing his hand on Jimin’s arm to reassure him. “I won’t let them. The same trick won’t work on me twice. Now let’s go.”
Before he could leave, Jimin grabbed his wrist. “One more question.”
“Yes…?”
“I’m not crazy, right? This is actually happening? And the witches are real?”
A bit impatient just earlier, Jungkook’s eyes softened around the edges.
This must’ve felt like a whiplash to Jimin. After all, people like Jungkook did a hell of a job making sure that civilians didn’t know about the existence of magic, supernatural things and creatures straight out of fairy tales. To find out about everything in such a short span of time—to see a bunny transform into a human—Jungkook was actually surprised that Jimin took it so calmly and wasn’t freaking out.
It was a valid question, then. One that Jungkook answered as gently as possible, “No, you’re not crazy. But this is happening. And I really need your help.”
Jimin inhaled deeply, exhaled as he was nodding to himself. “Okay,” he said after a short pause.
“Okay…?”
“I’ll help you,” he smiled at Jungkook.
Jungkook felt himself blushing from how radiant Jimin looked right now. “Thank you,” he blurted out.
Jimin giggled, letting go of his wrist. He grabbed his coat and Jungkook watched him putting it on, almost like in trance. But then it dawned on him.
“Wait,” he said, digging into his pants pocket. He quickly pulled out an oval shaped gem and handed it to Jimin. “Take this. It’ll keep you warm because those clothes certainly won’t.”
Although confused, Jimin didn’t question it and took it from him, placing it in his own pocket. Jungkook took the lead then, guiding Jimin out of the apartment and down to the underground parking lot. Despite having been already turned into a bunny, he vaguely recalled the witches taking his motorcycle with them and parking it here.
It took a bit of walking back and forth, but at last Jungkook had spotted his motorcycle. “There it is!” he exclaimed happily, bouncing right towards to it.
“He has a motorcycle,” Jungkook heard Jimin muttering to himself as he was checking whether his motorcycle was okay. “Of course he fucking does.”
Just in time as Jungkook looked up, he saw Jimin kicking angrily at some dirt on the ground.
Not hiding his smirk, Jungkook urged him to come closer. There was no point in pretending that he didn’t hear what Jimin said, but he decided against teasing him. Jimin, knowing he was caught, silently appreciated it, still blushing a bit.
“Before we go. I’m pretty sure you’re not, but I still must ask. You’re not associated with the witches in any way, are you?”
Jimin squinted his eyes at him. “Or what…?”
He smiled sweetly. “I’ll have to arrest you.”
The cutie shook his head, his hair falling into his eyes. Jungkook had to fight the urge to brush his fringe away.
“They’re my neighbours. I overheard them needing help and since I needed cash for a taxi, I offered to babysit. Didn’t expect to babysit a bunny, though.”
“All so you can go to a party? It must be pretty important,” he said, grabbing his helmet and without asking, putting it on Jimin.
Jimin groaned, standing still and letting him readjust the strap’s length and lock the clasp, making sure the helmet sat properly on Jimin’s head.
“It’s not. I hate those parties. All my family’s gonna be there, and I dread it every year—going there and pretending like we’re all a big, happy family. But that’s why I always go there by taxi. Getting wasted is the only way I can survive through the whole dinner.”
“Well,” Jungkook swung his leg and straddled his motorcycle. “Rest assured, I’ll get you there on time. If that’s what you want.”
There was an implication hidden there, between his words—an invitation—but Jimin didn’t mention it and Jungkook didn’t pry. He waited for Jimin to join him on the motorcycle and once Jimin was sitting properly, hugging Jungkook tightly, he sped off into the night.
They were both standing on the sidewalk, hiding in the shadows, even though they didn’t have to. The fog was so bad that the witches partying in the office building across the street were not going to notice them anyway. Jungkook insisted, though, and since he was in charge, Jimin didn’t fight him on it.
As Jungkook was basically glaring in the building’s direction, Jimin stepped a tiny bit closer to the light, watching his reflection in one of the store’s window displays.
“Is the hat really necessary?” he asked, his lips twisted in a frown.
“Yes, Jimin, it is,” Jungkook said, not even looking at him, his eyes still throwing daggers at the witches who couldn’t even see him; whom Jungkook couldn’t even see.
Jimin scowled, trying to make the witch hat look somewhat presentable on him. He was sure Jungkook was just fucking with him and he had no idea why he was indulging him. Although, he supposed, he was a bit scared.
He was about to walk into the witches’ party very soon and completely ruin it. There were many things that could go wrong. Jungkook’s assurance that he was going to do great and everything would be fine did little to calm him down.
“So what’s this device again?” Jimin looked at his palm, twirling a small, rectangle plastic with a few buttons on it between his fingers.
“It’ll stop the witches from using their magic for the next few hours. It’s enough time for me to call backup and be able to lock them up.”
“And the snow will be back?”
“And the snow will be back,” Jungkook confirmed and finally looked at him, giving him a toothy grin.
Jungkook might’ve been a human now, but he certainly did resemble a bunny regardless. Jimin tried to mirror his expression and smiled as well.
He took a deep breath. “I’ll be going then. Wish me luck.”
“You’ve got this.” Jungkook gave him a reassuring squeeze to his arm and a little push to make him go.
Determined, Jimin crossed the street, about to put on the best performance of his life and save Christmas so he could go to the family dinner and… He grimaced at the thought. Maybe being turned into a baby chick wouldn’t be so bad, after all…?
Jungkook followed secretly behind, watching as Jimin strode confidently towards the office building that wasn’t so empty anymore. The Christmas tree still stood confidently in the middle of the lobby, almost as if mocking him.
Before reaching the entrance, Jimin’s legs turned wobbly, his steps shaky, making Jungkook think that… Oh.
Jimin was definitely pretending to be drunk if his slurred speech was anything to go by. Jungkook could hear him singing ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’—only, he switched the lyrics from ‘Christmas’ to ‘Halloween’—and the witches taking guard outside didn’t even bat an eyelash at him, letting him go past them and inside the lobby.
Jungkook knew the witch hat would come in handy. Jimin clearly had a knack for acting, too. Maybe Jungkook should suggest to him that he should become an actor or something?
It took no longer than two minutes and Jimin was coming back, a bounce to his steps and a grin on his face as he was looking around, admiring his work. Thanks to him activating the device, the witches’ powers were neutralized and Seoul was back to being the winter wonderland it was before the witches had messed with it with a spell.
“Is that it?” Jimin asked, handing him the device back.
Jungkook pocketed it. “Yep. Thanks.”
“You’re very welcome,” Jimin did a fancy bow at him, giggling. “It was fun, actually.”
“Yeah?” Jungkook waved him over, pulling the helmet over Jimin’s head again. “Just don’t tell anyone. It could get me into trouble.”
“Huh, is that so?” he smiled cheekily. “Guess it’s gonna be our little secret.”
“I guess so.”
They smiled at each other, standing very close, much closer that was probably socially acceptable, considering they were nothing but strangers.
For a moment, Jungkook felt like risking it all, but he held himself back and ducked his face to the side, chuckling to himself as his lips stretched in a smile. Out of the corner of his eye, Jungkook caught Jimin mimicking him, the apples of Jimin’s cheeks dusted pink as he covered his face with the witch hat that he was still holding.
“We should probably go if you want to make it to your party on time,” Jungkook said, straddling his motorcycle.
“Ugh, don’t remind me,” Jimin whined, but joined him on the motorcycle.
The drive to Jimin’s parents didn’t take long at all and if Jimin noticed Jungkook taking a bit of a detour, he didn’t mention it. Jungkook was now walking him to the building’s entrance, fiddling with the strap of his helmet, holding onto the witch hat as well.
They met in very peculiar circumstances but Jungkook—even though he wasn’t sure why—hoped that… He wished that it wasn’t the last time he saw Jimin. But Jimin didn’t pick up on it—his head hanging low and eyes staring at his shoes—and so Jungkook didn’t either. He was very intent on saying something, though.
“Tha—“
“Me—“
They both started at the same time, getting startled and staring at each other wide eyes. Jimin broke the sudden silence first, giggling behind his hand. He skipped to Jungkook, getting on his tippy toes, and… kissed Jungkook’s cheek.
“Merry Christmas, Jungkook,” he smiled at him softly, backing away.
Jungkook froze, his hand coming up to touch his cheek, still feeling the warmness and plushness of Jimin’s lips.
Jimin had already walked away further from him, hand grabbing the knob to open the door, but Jungkook lurched after him, “Jimin, wait!”
Jimin stopped, hand stilling midair. He turned around slowly, curious and hopeful eyes meeting Jungkook’s.
“Ditch the party and go on a date with me,” Jungkook grinned at him, not hesitating anymore.
Jimin didn’t even have to consider it, snatching the helmet back from him. “Gosh, I thought you’d never ask,” he giggled, grabbing Jungkook’s hand and pulling him back towards the motorcycle. “Let’s go.”
