Nighrmares

Summary:

Louie has a nightmare. It's worse than expected.

Chapter 1: Louie

Chapter Text

Sweat dripped down his feathers as he tossed and turned in bed. Something was plauging at him, he couldn't see. Falling. He felt as if he were endlessly falling. No one to catch him. Nobody.

Louie jerked awake in bed tears threatening to spill. A scream on the tip of his tounge, beak clamped shut. His sheets were wet. HIS SHEETS WERE WET. He was in his rich Uncle's home! This wasn't Uncle Donald's house boat, this can't be happening anymore. What the hell was he supposed to do? This sheets were probubly expensive! His beak quivered and his body trembled with fear. He couldn't tell his brothers, he couldn't tell Della. Uncle Donald was gone. His breathing picked up. He would get in more trouble later and risk his siblings endless tourment if he didn't tell Uncle Scrooge now. His feathers felt wet and gross. Slipping out of bed, he uncomfortably began to toy with his shirt. A small hiccup escaped his throat, startling him. Yeah, few things, ome he was terrified of the dark, two nightmares did a number on him, three...he wasn't going to handle this well at all. He nearly bolted down the hall, tears rapidly wetting his cheek feathers. There probubly was some dark monster lurking somewhere-

"Young sir, you are in distress are you alright?" Duckworth appeared out of nowhere scaring Louie sensless. The young duck screamed and fell through a door, unfortunatly leading to Scrooge's room.

"What in the blazin-Laddie! What are ye doing in my room at this ungodly hour?"

The ghost butler floated guilily in the doorway.

"Duckworth! You scared the poor lad half te death! Please try not to do that!" Scrooge scolded before getting out of bed and putting his specticles on. He went silent as he watched his youngest nephew on the floor in a heap having a full blown sobbing fit. "Lad ye gonna choke yeself to death! Breathe Louie breathe!" Scrooge said somewhat calmly. He kneeled down before Louie taking his hand.

"m sorry! m sorry Unca S-scrooge!" Louie choked out shakily. Sobs still wracking his body. Scrooge's heart shattered. A memory poked at his brain.

"Whatever are ye sorry about?" Scrooge asked slowly pulling his nephew closer, slowly as not to startle him.

"S-sheets...b-bad dream not m' fault want U-unca Donald-" Louie hiccuped loudly trying to catch his breath wich soon hitched when his great uncle scooped him up.

"Sheets? What about em lad?" Scrooge knew fair well what happened to them. He just wanted to know why his wee nephew was in such distruat over them.

"I-i-..." Louie's hands had a death grip on Scrooge's night shirt. The elder duck tried his best to rock the boy a little. "Wet..m sorry they were prolly 'spensive-"

"Lad ye ever heard of a washing machine?" Scrooge tried to joke. His nephew only burried his face in his shoulder as the waterworks continued.

"I know, I know. Calm down laddie let's get you settled and back to bed aight?"

"Can I sleep with you?" The words left his beak before he could process. A faint blush covered his cheeks. Why did his stupid mouth have to fail him now?

"Of course Louie. Of course." Scrooge smiled softly rubbing circles into his great nephews back.

After tossing him into the tub, Scrooge walked down to the triplets room only to find Louie's bed stripped, and a pile of drenched sheets in the eldest triplet's arms.

"It was uh- me?" Huey tried clutching the fowl smelling sheets.

"Come lad, I'll show ye the wash room."

They walked in silence.

"Louie will be staying with me tonight. Lad requested to stay with me." Scrooge assured.

Huey let out a breath.

"Oh okay.."

Scrooge began to work the washing machines.

"Now off to bed with ye, get some sleep."

"night Uncle Scrooge."

"Night Huey." Scrooge smiled.

----

Scrooge tucked Louie into the left side of his bed. The duckling had fallen asleep in the tub.

"Night laddie hope this helps." Scrooge hung the magic dream catcher above his bed.

It was safe to say, Louie only had pleasnt dreams the rest of the night.
