There once was a whole world of fierce snake-like people who were similar to humans, though had tails instead of legs. Naga. They had their own culture with their unique views on sex and gender. Still it was a world riddled with war, tricky gods, grand tragedies, and demons in the night. There, deep in the desert, was once the great kingdom of Aavalar. Large, strong, and well known for taking over many smaller kingdoms by sheer strength. Its royal family thought very highly of itself.
One such member of the royal family was Princess Zarah, Warrior, Protector of the Realms, and Hero. She was very strong and beautiful with long flowing hair and a carefully groomed beard. Though she wasn’t the cleverest when it came to most things, if you put a weapon in her hands she could outsmart the best of them.
Princess Zarah was third in line to the throne, after her mother the Queen, and her clutchmate and sister Princess Aayah. Aayah would become queen and Zarah would be Aavalar’s deadliest commander. It would be a lie to say that she wasn’t a little envious of the Queen title as her mother was a ruthless leader and she respected her more than anyone, but Aayah was the one who had sense with diplomacy.
This is not a happy story. But come close. Listen. And remember to be careful what you wish for.
