Work Text:

Upon arriving back to Zaun, you expected a day or two off to cool down from your long journey. It wasn’t easy to travel back and forth to Noxus without the much help of modern transportation (for safety reasons, of course), and would surely take a drain on someone. Unfortunately, your expectations and hopes for rest turned sour once you reached Zaun.

It seems that many things had changed while you were gone.

A few men that were still loyal to Vander and his cause created a riot so massive that you didn’t see Silco’s face for days. Everyone who has access to the second floor of the Last Drop looked tired, stressed, and way too alert just in case another panic rose. Including you.

As soon as you got back, Sevika dragged your ass to stop the riots immediately and lead them to Silco. Naturally, he was the one leading the efforts to ‘calm’ them down. You weren’t stupid, they were either dead or dying. You wondered why you weren’t the one sent to kill them like you usually were until you realize that maybe it was Silco’s way of letting you rest, even just a little. Or so you hope.

The first two weeks back home were a collective blur of running, screams from the riots, and stealing blinks of sleep in any way you can. So, when Sevika approaches your pathetic self that was currently napping on one of the tables of the Last Drop on an empty day telling you that Silco wants to see you, you bolted to his office immediately.

You reached his door in a matter of seconds, slamming it open expecting the worst. You were ready to head out to his command, your gun was loaded with the safety on holstered to your side and the sleep that was evident in your eyes was gone in an instant.

“Y/N,” Silco greeted. “Have a seat.” His tall figure was staring outside the window that overlooks the entirety of Zaun with his hands clasped at his back.

You didn’t expect him to sound calm, which made you lower your guard. He notices your semi-alert stance. “The riots have fallen, Y/N. Calm yourself.”

Then why were you here then? Your eyes gazed over his table as if you haven’t seen enough of it for the past few years. Your eyes focus on the ones unfamiliar object next to his ashtray.

“Jinx has fallen in love with the set of tools you got her from Noxus,” Silco told you, following your gaze on the monkey-like object with absurdly sharp teeth on his desk. “She has been insistent to use her bombs in our operations once she’s finished.”

A smile grows on your face. For the past two weeks, you’ve only seen Jinx once to give her your present. Her bright eyes were more than enough to tell you that your four-month absence was worth it. “Your daughter is a bright girl, sir.”

Silco has both of his elbows propped on his table with his conjoined hands covering the lower half of his face. He stares at you through his eyelashes making you feel like he was a wild animal eyeing you for dinner. “Do you not think it’s fair that I call you by your name but you do not call me by mine?”

“Oh, sorry Silco,” his name is foreign as you roll it off your tongue. You managed to stare back at him as you said it and you could swear you saw satisfaction in his eyes once he heard his name from your lips. “Force of habit.” You sheepishly explained as you looked away. You couldn’t stare back at him any longer.

Silco draws a deep breath before standing. He kept you captivated in every movement he made, never losing contact with your eyes. To a normal person, Silco might have looked like he was out for your murder, but years of working for him tells you that he has something in his head. You watch his eyebrows furrow slightly and clench his jaw- something he does when he contemplates something important, possibly life-changing.

You watch him stand an arm’s length away from you- enough distance to make your heart pound but not enough to make him hear. “I can see why my daughter is so fond of you. She babbles about how easy it was to talk to you and how you might be the prettiest girl in Zaun. Unfortunately, I only agree with the latter.”

You barely caught your jaw before it hung open making you look stupid. Silco finds you…pretty? The thought itself made your heart skips beats, and it did until you fully realized what he said. Does he find it hard to talk to you? Confusion spread across your face, conflicted on how to feel about what he said.

Sensing your uncertainty, Silco began to speak. “I am fond of you as well. I find you one of the people I can rely on the most. You are undoubtedly loyal to me, never faltering, efficient, effective. I trust you. I trust you with my life, with Jinx’s. People like you are a rarity in this world, and I find that I must care for you well lest you slip through my fingers.” He averts his gaze to the space beside you as if he was uncertain of what he was about to say. “Which is why it is incredibly unfortunate that I find you so captivating.”

He turns his head back to you. Silco notes your star-struck gaze. “You enchant me,” he confesses.  “I find myself looking for you first in every room I enter and longing for your presence when you are not nearby. Those four months without you were unbearable, but it was enough time for me to think on what I’d want to do with these…feelings.” He speaks slowly, with every thought heavy in each word. “I would like to court you if you would allow it.”

You blink, still not processing his words properly. You wanted to scream ‘yes, yes, yes!’ and jump on him with a hug, but instead, you asked, “And if I disagree?”

You didn’t know what you were expecting, but Silco was the opposite of panicked. Instead, he scoffs and gives you a smirk, the one smile he does when he knows something the other doesn’t. You’ve seen him to this a thousand times but you were never at the receiving end. “Do not try to act coy, lovely girl. Do you think I have not seen the way you look at me?” Silco leans down as his hand comes up to cup your cheek and you curse yourself as you slightly leaned in it. “I see how your hungry eyes follow my neck when I drink my liquor, or how you stare at my lips when I smoke.” His hand retreats, leaving your cheek cold for his warmth. “I already know what your answer will be, lovely girl. I just need you to say it.”

“Silco…”

“I understand the weight of what I am asking you. If you disagree, I assure you nothing will change with our relationship, I only ask you not to leave. It will break Jinx’s heart.” And mine went unsaid but you heard it.

You look at his mismatched eyes like you have many times, but this time fully allowing yourself to appreciate his beauty so openly. Your voice was quiet but firm when you said, “I’d love to be yours if you’d have me.”

As the words left your mouth, you felt Silco’s hands on your face, holding you like you were the rarest stone in the world. “My lovely, lovely Y/N,” Silco whispers with his face so close you felt his breath on your face. A smile blooms on your mouth as you let yourself bask in his endearment. “When have I ever denied you?”

A laugh escapes your mouth, eyes shining so brightly with happiness. Silco leans in and presses the sweetest kiss on your forehead before hugging you to his torso, pulling you closer to him. You hug him back, hands around his waist, smelling his scent.

Finally, you’re home.
