Simon held the bowl full of banu'puun and slowly walked over to Nahyuta in the living room. He was hoping that the sad monk enjoyed his surprise.
Nahyuta smiled. "Is that banu'puun I smell."
Simon sighed. "I was trying to surprise you."
He got a laugh in return. "Sorry dear, I just recognize the smell out of instinct."
Simon laughed. "Yeah, I figured." He put the bowl in Nahyuta's lap.
"Hmm.." Nahyuta took a spoonful. It tasted awful, but he powered through. He wanted to make Simon happy, and if eating burnt food and pretending it was good made Simon happy, then so be it. "It's wonderful."
Simon laughed. "It's okay, I know I'm not very good at it."
Nahyuta smiled. "Thank goodness."
Simon sat next to him, not brave enough to try his burnt banu'puun. "Maybe you can teach me how to cook it."
Nahyuta laughed. "I would love to."
